The act being in the Pop Factor wasn’t the reason for the veto just to be clear; more we felt the song was too well known on here…

Fortunately not as ABBA wouldn’t have been able to participate as they’ve never done a cover! The discussion about that amused me a lot last time though I couldn’t say anything publicly.

Other question is whether Calvin could use an Ellie Goulding collaboration that appeared in Series 1. I’m guessing that would have to be OK as there isn’t a library of Pop Factor songs so it would get too difficult to track over the years.

“Waiting All Night” and “Love Me Again” are both in the quite like zone for me, so not complaining that they’ve missed the top 10. I think they’re both good up to a point and then don’t do anything to really make them interesting. “Love Me Again” the vocals are all a bit on one level without light and shade, and the other the chorus gets a little repetitive.

Deepest Blue would be my 2nd choice but going for Emma - not a very exciting 2nd single.

Inspired by @Jade ’s decade by decade top 10 and the 1980s sessions having paused I am returning to this for a bit! And it’s a good group to come back to with Bowie getting a rare 10 that may or may not be his only one.
