Have created a Spotify playlist for this - struggling to do the link properly but guess it works just pasting it like this.
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5AP2ECyOA...DSaWHGNWTJ2P3Nw
Maybe this will be more popular than my Worst Ever #1 playlist.

The version of 'Let's Party' I liisten to (mainly because I reg listen to EOY Top 100 playlsits has Mariah Carey instead of Gary Glitter. Talking of which, notice no Gary Glitter or Rolf Harris. Is that because their songs were deemed good or excluded because of their controversy would cloud people's judgement?
Ha well you didn’t have to be good to not be nominated, just not in the worst 100 of the 1,400 Number Ones there have been. And yes we didn’t think Two Little Boys and the Glitter ones were all that bad. Plus I couldn’t very well insist that everyone rank every song and listen to any they don’t know if it was one of those.
20+ voters now - thanks and keep them coming! :cheer:

They have 1979 and 1983 re-runs of TOTP today (on top of the usual 1993 ones at the moment) and just had to endure the Lena Martell song again in the former :arrr:
Haha me too.
I have some affection for my 1 pointer but otherwise I can’t say I like any of the finalists!
By the way I’ve added up the scores from the first 15 voters and it’s ridiculously close (3 points separating the Top 3). And what I expected to win isn’t even in the Top 3. So it’s all to play for!

As promised the stats:
70s: 74
80s: 105
90s: 121
Although 9 of those 90s were 00s hits really. So 90s not that far ahead in the end and 80s really came back strongly in the upper half.
Peak positions:
#1 68
#2 35
#3-5 55
#6-10 57
#11-20 25
#21-40 24
#41-75 8
N/A 28
So that suggests the Top 10 caught about 70% of the good stuff.

^ I think we just meant to judge all the songs as though they were out now. We might have a more visceral hatred for a more recent song because of the memories associated with it, or conversely we might have nostalgia for it, whereas the older ones we might just not really have strong feelings associated either way. Just to be aware of that, but I’m sure people will anyway! :)
