  1. Anything by My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy.... pure skill! Well, except maybe MCRs 'Teenagers' which kinda sucks...
  2. It has to be said, Slash played some mean axe... very mean axe.... considering he was strung out about 99.9% of the time... jeez, I can barely even pick my guitar up after a few beers.... but, that fella, man, he made that guitar talk after shooting up, drinking Jack D and having to put up with Axl... now, that's a great guitarist :) Anyway, move this on a bit... instead of naming all these great guitarists that we all know about.... ask the question, who is the most underrated guitarist of all time? One guitarist who really came into his own as the band developed over the years was Billy Duffy from The Cult... well, worth checking out.. but, who else.....?
  3. ..... a friend of mine and me were talking about this the other day... does anyone remember Axl jumpin in the crowd to fight with a fan.... or Seb Bach throwing a bottle into the audience? Or, days when folk were called 'Snake' or 'Lawless'..... arrrr, the fond memories..... where's that now with Chris 'don't take my photo or I'll bitch slap you' Martin? Rock and Roll needs a kick... we need another GnR and not pretenders. Don't get me wrong, musically there's some frickin ace stuff out there, MCR, FOB... and great new stuff comin thru too in Gallows, etc... but, where's the band to reunite us again........ I don't think I can remember anyone coming close since GnR.... RIP (Please don't get back together and destroy my ace memories.........)
  4. Well, I used to be against cover bands in a big way... they were kop out.... but, I realise they have a brilliant place in the whole scheme of things. A musician can make a living from working in a cover band in order to support what they may want to do creatively until it possibly takes off itself. Also, I do think that if things are done in a certain way then they can remain credible.... and ultimately, they can be a fantastic way to spend an evening, if the musicians involved actually care about what they are doing. I've been working as an entertainment agent for a while now and we work with this band: http://www.warble-entertainment.com/detail...lers&id=607 I've seen them live and they kick arse in a huge way! And, because they are a cover band playing only the 'stronger' tracks by each act they really are 'all killer and no filler'.... I seriously doubt that many of the original bands they cover could keep up their energy for the performances these guys put in. But, waddya reckon? cover bands.. good or not?
  5. Roll on.... this could be the 'Smile' of this generation!
