They really need this film to knock it out of the park for the fanboys and the casuals. Just from the sheer number of cameos and actors they have it will be really well imo. I think the issue is people are elss bothered about contained stories and we got used to seeing multiple characters in one film., so audiences want that now.

Really fun game - United started very well but then ran out of steam after 30 minutes then it became a basketball game really, Weird as the attacking patterns look good for United, but they just dont get many clean sheets at all. I know people can point to their CBs being out, but it's a pattern under Amorim no matter the combination. Cannot believe they got that freekick for handball, jammy bast*rds

Interesting with Arsenal. I've seen loads of games like that under Klopp when we were going for the title. They have a deep squad but I think the season/pressure will catch uo with them if they don't exit a cup competition. They got a lot of luck - think if they Hwang shot goes in at 0-0 they panic too much. Really do think if any team is within 5-6 points away with 8 games to go the fans will really struggle.
  6. Drinks breaks happened in Qatar didn't they? And also in the Club World Cup? I don't think it's much of an issue. Think how often teams can take to take a corner or when there is a VAR issue, it happens all the time. What is new is the commercialistation of them, but meh. It's hard to get wound up about it when people will pay silly money for tickets and sponsors will lap this up. People will watch the World Cup and it will make FIFA a lot of money.

  8. The plan was always to give him a two year contract and sell this summer imo. I don’t think we’re that daft. We always knew Saudi would bite their hands off him at some stage- I just don’t think we foresaw Salah’s numbers dropping off a cliff. What is complete shitshow at the moment is there is obviously chaos behind the scenes, I suspect it ends with both Slot and Salah moving on in the summer.
  9. There's so many ifs, buts and maybes. It never usually works out that all the top teams win their groups. I also think it's good that our group isn't a complete walkover too, tough games get you prepared. Like I said before, I think this World Cup will be far more about managing the conditions on the day and where games are played. Our group looks OK, but playing Mexico at altitude will be brual if that happens. The good thing for England is we have a deep squad. I'm pretty sure that will come in to play here for the European teams especially if they want to win, as I think you'll practically need two full teams.
  10. Not sure about that. Whichever European team wins will fancy their chances. Don't think Australia are that good. A lot of this tournament will rest on where the games are played against who imo and even at what time the games kick off,
  11. I didn't find the draw that complicated. Not really sure there is a really "tough" group - Maybe the France, Senegal, Norway one, but it's missing a decent pot 4 team. Not sure how good Ghana are these days and England have a horrid record against Croatia

Agreed, it's hard to say whether it's a good score or not as so many of our batsmen went out to average balls or brain farts. Not sure the Aussies will make as many errors as we did, but our bowling is pretty good to be fair. Think the key will be how long we can bat in that first session for.
  14. Seems Reform reckon they can score an election pact with the Tories ahead of a GE. This would make it very difficult for the other parties.

Kind of saw the ending happening - was the only real way to take the game to Vecna. Really enjoyed the four eps, but with such a huge cast a lot of the screentime gets lost.

  18. I suspect the play would be to get an interim manager and then assess options in the summer, probably Naagelsman or Alonso when he gets sacked by Madrid.
  19. He's done here, the players look mentally defeated and the opposition can smell blood. I've watched us loads and no matter who plays we look rubbish and a lot of that is the tactical set up. What's bonkers is he tweaked it and we got good results against Villa and Madrid and then he tweaks it back to his slow and dull Pep-lite possession play that we don't really have the players for as we nobody at the back who can progress the ball. I genuinely don't think he knows how to turn it around - suspect he might last another couple of games, but I think he's gone.
  20. Well he's not wrong, but he's not right. People look at disability too ideologically. We need to do more to encourage people to work and support those who are mentally or physically unable to work. Yes there is a system to be gamed, but you can say that about people who are self employed and maybe don't declare all their income. But our welfare state is absolutely not sustainable (and I include the State Pension in this). Cash ISAs are largely rubbish. If you are saving for 5+ years you're way better putting money in a S&S ISA. The problem is we don't have any education about investing and if people put money in a bad investment and as a nation we are largely risk adverse. The idea is right, but like Iz says, there needs to be work on the execution. If anyone has £12k a year to save, it is imo a silly thing to do to stick it all in a cash ISA.
  21. There needs to be serious questions about the triple lock and reducing the overall size of the welfare state unless mass tax rises across the board. The OBR has forecasted a rise of over £73bn! That is not sustainable.
  22. Well it’s a terrible budget for everyone but to be fair, unless you slash state spending then it’s going to be negative for everyone. We certainly have a major spending problem which needs to be addressed either through tax rises or cutting spending (of which we’ve not really done either). Don’t really know how anyone over 65 and under 21 can have too many gripes.. but for the rest of us, we’re all paying more for less.
  23. Pretty naff budget for most workers then unless you’re under the age of 21, claiming some form of benefits or you’re a pensioner. Loads of tax rises for workers even if they are less obvious. I know I said it earlier, but the salary sacrifice removal on pensions is such a dumb thing to do. I’m not sure that will make it to 2029.
  24. Honestly, I laughed so hard when I read that earlier. Everyone could see it coming. It's a shame when you miss the Sepp Blatter corruption days vs Infantino.
  25. At least we get battered against 11 men!!
