The Middle East Today
Must admit, I find the treatment of Kneecap pretty baffling. I don't agree with the 'kill your MP' they said - albeit they have apologised for that and while they can say it was out of context. But anyway, they have apologised. But the campaign to basically cancel them is beyond bonkers. Can't see a way Glastonbury stop the booking, despite various figures trying to get them cancelled, as obviously we all know what they will say and rightly so. And Joseph, what you say is exactly right. The path to a two State is only going to happen if the world, or more likely the US makes it happen.

6 clubs in the CL next year from England will make it way harder to get 5 CL spots the following season. All it takes is for half of the teams to be crap.

Champions League 24/25
Great game. Barcelona are so fun to watch but they can easily be got at defensively. So much better than the bore game on Tuesday!

Champions League 24/25
PSG were well worth the win. Arsenal still have a shot but jeez they are so one dimensional. Very strong on set pieces but if that’s your primary source of goals then it’s going to limit you. Not sure I can see PSG losing by two clear goals in Paris..

By-elections 2024 (Part 2)
Yeah I think Reform will win, but I also think it's a disaster waiting to happen. A lot of their support material all seems to be based on Farage and I'm just nt+ot sure how much of an election pull he will be come 2029. Plus, as even the likes of Rupert Lowe are pointing out, Reform don't have any answers for how they're actually going to do anything (fecking shock). If you tell someone whose struggling that they will increase the personal tax allowance to 20k, then I understand why people would vote for them, I would in their situation. Although what they don't tell you is how they're actually going to do that without bankrupting the country or just making sure you pay more for everything else to compensate through VAT.

Champions League 24/25
Think Arsenal might win, albeit it will be very close. PSG have so much speed, I think a lot of the game will depend on how brave Arsenal are.

Utterly heartbreaking. Some top tier journalism by Louis Theroux, will be interesting if the State goes after him now in the same way there’s been a coordinated attack on Kneecap. Really did hone in that a two state solution isn’t going to be likely without major intervention.

The Last of Us
Interested to see what happens in the last 3 episodes (considering from the reviews they've told us about the focus of 1 ep). There's a lot of different gameplay moments still to come if the Season ends where I think it will. Lots of foreshadowing in the script this week for what's to come in the future and that darn porch!

Anyone seen the Louis Theroux documentary?

Think it's already been confirmed somewhere that Klopp will be at the parade (and after party) but not on the open top bus. The right move.

Just think Arsenal recruited poorly in the summer and lost their heads a little. Don't know why they went all out on the defence and then yes Saka was a huge miss for them, but they literally create barely nothing from open play and Odegaard has been off the boil massively. Not sure they would have had the legs to challenge for the title and CL at the same time. RE Salah it's not necessarily that he's become a better player, in the post match interview, Salah said what I've guessed for a while - Slot basically absorbs him of defensive responsibility. So it means he's fresher and has more license as he's not asked to defend in the same way he was under Klopp.

For all the talk the Premier League has been rubbish, we very well could end up with 90 points! That's some achievement. I think the "rubbishness" of the Premier League just expodites what I think will happen going forwards with relation to the domestic game. But that's another topic of conversation. Still love this team has adopted One Kiss as THE anthem haha.

And all because the lady loves (Lib Dems thread)
While I agree Airpods are ridiculosly over priced, there are plenty of alternatives on the Market which are reasonably priced and even good brands rather than knock-offs. Agree that having this as a policy is stupid as it's unforceable but I guess it is appealing to lots of people, as my God this trait is annoying. It's a complete lack of respect from others and even when challenged by others, quite often the attitude is one of entitlement.

It's hard to sell them all though due to the massive wages. Rashford favours a club up north by all accounts so that's basically Villa, Newcastle or Forest if they get CL. Antony will go out on loan again and perhaps Chelsea get Sancho and flip him.

Man United Supporters Thread Pt.II
Getting accounting wins on all those players except Rashford will be hard though. I actually think Sancho might be ok in Amorim's system.

I think they may have got rid of spoiler targs, I can't find them either! But totally agree. Not sure how they will do that sequence right on screen next season.

Do you mean the Bloaters? The one that Tommy kills with fire. That's some game homage. It's just a different stage of the infected. There's another stage which might show up this season which is similar and the big one which will probably show up in Series 3.

Entirely different systems. But Arsenal still haven't won the title in any case. Arsenal also have Saka who would walk in to just about every team in Europe. Must say, while I like Cunha a lot as a player, I'm a bit shocked that Utd see getting an attacking midfielder/10 as the number one priority and where most of the budget should go. Saw a stat the other day on a podcast that of all the players in the league he's walked the most this season :D

You're not winning the Premier League with a strike force of Cunha, Delap and Zirkzee.

UK Local Elections 2025
It'll be the classic "they're terrible" but can't name one terrible thing outside of the winter fuel allowance, which everyone will forget about by 2029.

The Last of Us
Caught up now. Even though I knew what was coming, it still hits when Joel realises what's coming. I get some of the slight character deviances (loved the battle of Jackson, which doesn't happen in the game) but not too sure I was a fan of Abby and Joel's monologue before the golf club. Perhaps audiences would be miffed why she killed him, but interesting they revelaed that so early. I'm interested to see what they do with Tommy's character from here on in.

UK Local Elections 2025
Looks like Reform are going to win Linconshire & Hull mayorships. No real surprise there, especially with the former. Reform definitely eating in to the Tory vote. I think Reform will do very well in the local elections at the expense of the Tories. Shame really, as populism is never the answer.
