Spotify's Hot Hits UK playlist - the level of UK artist support, freshness, impact on the chart/music industry
Spotify is a business and for the most part, labels end up having some form of cross country marketing budget for these playlists. If a label pays enough, they’ll get support. I think the U.K. version of Hot Hits is especially rubbish but I also don’t believe an artist needs it to get a hit.

Would have rathered Saudicastle don't win.. but we were awful. I've seen us lose finals before and it's part of football, but that was terrible. Newcastle fully deserved to win. Been coming, Slot has only used 12-13 players and our midfield couldn't lay a glove on them all game. The effects of the PSG game showed.

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
Trump's now saying "they don't need anybody". Wonder if those odds of a US recession are going to keep on going up? I still think picking a war with Canada is the dumbest thing this administration can do. His whole arguments are batshit. I struggle to really understand how Canada selling the US cheap oil so they can sell their oil at higher prices is a bad thing. To expect a country 10x smaller than you to pump in money is plan lunacy.

He literally said that it’s so people can buy US champagne, which of course, does not exist.

If anyone needs further proof Trump and his advisers have no idea what they are doing, see today’s latest quotes. 200% tariffs so people can buy US champagne that doesn’t exist 🤡

Champions League 24/25
Not sure I agree with that at all. Real Madrid were pretty rank today and could have easily fallen out to penalties.. PSG are a good side who've spent a lot of money, they outplayed Liverpool at home, but I thought at Anfield Liverpool were the better team, luck just evaded us. Anorher night we have a penalty, Diaz doesn't stray offside and Quansah's header trickles in off off the inside of the post. If Liverpool end up on the other side of the draw, we have 3 teams in the Quarter Finals. Agree with you about world class players. but I think we're in an era where we lack world class talent. Don't think there's anyone in that 28-31 bracket who you'd say is world class anywhere in the world!

Champions League 24/25
I’m not sure how true that is. Liverpool got a tough draw, you could just as easily had Barca/PSG going out. One thing you have to take in to consideration is that for the most part, Bayern and PSG play in leagues they dominate. The financial dominance of the Premier League means the little clubs are better. PSG rotated 8 of their squad and it showed. And all of those teams mentioned spend more than the top premier league teams.

The Russia Political Thread
Guess we'll see the test of Trump now. Russia don't want a ceasefire. Trump would stamp his feet with most people, so interesting to see what he does now if Russia don't fold.

They were the better team in the first leg by far and I thoight we shaded the 2nd leg in 90 minutes. We were on our feet for extra time and PSG took their pens really well. Annoying of course, but that's football. Got to take the rough with the smooth. Got a league title and cup to win now.

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
“Don’t believe in the markets” - can’t wait to see how long this one lasts. I remember Liz Truss having the exact same rhetoric as well. Trump and MAGA by association as dumb. Basically caused the markets to panic, put some dumb tariffs, Quebec will now enter the tariff war. I think the Trump administration have some genuinely logical ideas but their execution is bonkers. Anyway, hopefully Canada hold out strong, completely dumb move from the US.

Elon Musk's descent into insanity
Didn’t he fund his over priced Twitter take over against the Tesla share price? I’d say he’s certainly feeling pressure. That Tesla stock tank is horrific. Maybe he’s lost interest and he can get huge government/US contracts with Space X. Either way, he’s screwed up big time. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke.

It's massive. The CEO of most companies would be being called out immediately over tankingn stock like that, especially when one is actively damaging the company acting how they are doing. The Trump effect in full swing.

Man United Supporters Thread
The set on interviews he's doing are bizzare. Some downright deluision. There is absolutely no way Man Utd will be winning the title by 2028 whilst spending £2 billion on a vanity stadium project. Allegedly they are broke by the end of 2025, but can finance a huge project and invest in the playing staff. It's no wonder there's such a toxic atmosphere in the club when your owner is coming out to the media and throwing half the team under the bus. They might reduce costs, but there is absolutely no way that toxic culture is changing. Amazing how he can take the blame for Ten Haag and Ashworth and then proceed a few sentences later to blame the management team

Premier League 2024/2025
If Villa win the CL then fair play.. likely PSG/Liverpool, then likely to Real Madrid and then Barcelona or a home game against Bayern Munich! Would be like that Real Madrid run from 2022 (I think!).

Liverpool Supporters Thread
It's why I'd like us to get to 90 points. Even though all the other teams have had 'off' seasons, Arsenal have never got to 90 points under Arteta.
-
Liverpool Supporters Thread
Of course we had little confidence, I've seen us get 97 points before and end up 2nd And Macheda popping up out of nowhere and winning Man Utd the title. I wasn't expecting us to be anywhere near the title this year and I still don't actually think we are amazing, we've certainly another 2-3 levels to go to yet. But Slot has done an absoutely amazing job taking the groundwork from Klopp. Our success is that for the most part, our sporting structure behind the scenes is so good.

The Reform Gammons and Hot Air Ltd thread
That’s the problem. Twitter is essentially an echo chamber these days either through brainwashed people, idiots and bots. The left has the same problems as well, when you invite the more extreme people in to the party, inevitably they take the bait and cause a storm. Farage at least understands how Reform might be able to win an election, or have a very strong choice of doing so. The small ilk of people who Rupert Lowe was courting are a fringe wing. They might be popular on Twitter, but they’re a joke elsewhere and if you put them in front of a camera long enough, their real views will come out of someone will expose them for the idiots they are.
-
The Reform Gammons and Hot Air Ltd thread
Look at how UKIP fared when Farage no longer was their poster boy. Farage certainly isn’t a moderate but he is part of the establishment and understands how order works and to try and . Without Farage, Reform doesn’t exist and struggles to poll 10%. You’d literally be the BNP.
-
The Reform Gammons and Hot Air Ltd thread
The issue is, without Farage, any alt right party is never going to get any mainstream traction or have a chance of winning a general election. Without Farage, Reform is nothing and would be far too extreme.
