  1. Which tells you all you need to know how shite the speech was. Free speech is just a phrase the right wing use, they are not interested in it. Like I've always said, it's fine for America to take this angle, but everyone needs friends and allies and they're not going to have any left at this rate.
  2. Vance is chatting out of his arse, what an idiot. The Kremlin might as well have written that speech.
  3. It's a tough one really - I think as people have already pointed out Putin wasn't always like this. But the Kremlin became obsessed with the idea of the old Republic again. The issue is, Russia is an enemy of the West, on one side you can argue that NATO and the US were funding Ukraine to morally defeat Russia as while they have some clear advantages, they are going to be forced to be China's long term ally and likely bitch moving forwards. The issue is (what Trump and MAGA don't see.. or just don't care) that Putin or whoever replaces him isn't going to stop. Russia will go for Ukraine again at some point and then what happens if it goes for the baltic states? Dangerous game to play.
  4. I think at this stage you'be just got to laugh. These are not serious people

Of course the title is still up for grabs, Liverpool will drop points, but Arsenal will too. We have a difficult stretch coming up now whereas Arsenal's is slightly kinder. Think the issue is Arsenal need to put up much better form than they have done all season, which is possible, but not sure where their goals will come from.
  6. Nah was never a pen. Watch how the ball gets to Konate's hand, Beto passes it with his hand. Oliver just had a shocker. He gave Diaz fouls (rightly) twice for exactly the same thing that happens to Konate in the equaliser. He used to be the best ref, but he's completely lost it ever since that Abu Dhabi trip.

The right move longer term not to go after a secondary target though. They panicked with Sterling in the summer and look at him. Going to be a tough 6 weeks with only Trossard, Nwaneri and Sterling as your attacking players, especially when the CL starts as well. Probably going to have to get quiet creative or really grind out results with their defence. Even when Saka comes back, it will take him a few games to get up to speed and probably forces Arteta to play him more!
  8. Annoying that. We played the game perfectly otherwise against those yard dogs. Michael Oliver was an absolute disgrace though. Not usually one for blaming things on referees, but he was an absolute joke. That Salah no foul at the end when he was basically threw on goal just sums up how shite he was. Tells you all you need to know too when both Ferdinand and Jagielka said they'd have wanted a foul for the equaliser too. Still a point gained, take it and move on.
  9. People don't like Musk, as soon as the cult understand this. I'm not against the efficency work he's doing, but it's all in the wrong areas and there's a clear political bias in there too in terms of the agencies being targeted.
  10. Nobody wants them though and you’re selling at a loss, hence why it became almost impossible to shift Rashford. All these flops are on huge congrats that are not worth the sums paid, so nobody can afford the players wages. Also the irony is as well by all scouts take someone like Antony who’s performing way better than he did at Utd. Early days, but probably just shows the rot is way deeper. Almost looks like the pressure is too much for a lot of players or there’s a horrible culture inside.
  11. Because ultimately Ratcliffe is a businessman. Suspect the large part of it is any growth directly connected to Old Trafford or a new stadium is what really peaked up interest. I think naively he suspected the football costs would be lower too, or at least the club would be consistently in the Champions League. Personally the big elephant in the room is the squad costs so much to run and even if there are efficiencies in terms of staff and restructures, the club has wasted so much money on the first team that it’s hard to stomach.

It's been happening for a while, we've not really had any new talent cross over to America on a huge level since Dua Lipa in 2020. There's a bit of a dearth in British superstars at the moment, which is probably down to TikTok. Even look at the big American acts to come out recently outside of Chappell - they're all Disney stars or massive neopolitism products!

Agreed that Turturro performance was something else. Just everything. I feel in the second series they are moving at the right pace, answers enough questions while still leaving us wanting more. Hope we're not waiting 3 years for Season 3 though.

If Hamas give up the hostages Israel will just.. blow them up in pieces? Fecking madness that people think the current Israel & American governments have logically working brains. Would say it's 99% likely trump has absolutely nothing to do with the original ceasefire and merly rubber stamped it and took the plaudits. Like I've always said, everyone needs friends. Suspect America will have Israel and conceded all soft power to China by 2029.

Definitely recommend people to get on this if they already are not! Certainly the new critic darling and a shoe-in for the Emmys this year.

He did pretty much half the song with the bits everybody knows after he teased it at the start.

It feeds in to the general discontent around politics people are feeling. I know Reform will look to tap in to that, but even as much as they try and hide it they’re still part of the establishment. And those Farage/Starmer numbers are positive, I do think this is where Farage can’t avoid Brexit and the disaster it’s been.
  18. Winning the quad is so hard. It’s why it’s never been done before, while the 2022 season was amazing and that was imo the best chance we would ever have.. we were running on empty in the last few weeks and it clearly took a lot out of a few key players, judging by how much our press fell off a cliff the following season  Think in the next month we’re playing every 3 days.. this stretch feels season defying. We’ve got 3 tough away games and 1 hard home game in the league all within less than 3 weeks. I can totally see why Slot took the decisions he did yesterday.

Haha yes I agree, this time feels different though, this couped with the Grammy win, Drake has taken a big L. Just don’t see how he recovers from this unless like you say, he teams up with Kendrick for a billboard smash

The halftime show was poop outside of Not Like Us. Some good visuals but it felt flat to me and agree, it was more like an album promo than a halftime show. That said, I think he just ended Drake’s career

Outside of the front line, none of that team are regulars  These results happen and fair play to Plymouth. Sounds like Gomez going off with the injury early didn't help matters either.
  22. First time the gloaters come out! :D Fair play Plymouth. I only caught the last 30 minutes, but we were rubbish really. I always think in the FA Cup the likes of Liverpool/Arsenal/Man Utd/Spurs are on a hiding to nothing when you get a lower league team away from home. No easy games in this cup! Never nice to lose, but this was lowest priority, which was reflected by the squad we took.

Of course its a crazy thing to do, but I meant it as in as far as I am aware, none of the parents involved have been swayed by any new evidence that is being proposed. Judging by the lengths her legal team are going to win the PR battle, you would expect that would be crucial. But they haven't. And personally, I'd value the parents experience and testimonies over anything else. They knew these poor babies as people. I rememebr ready one of the testimonies from the mother at the time. I find it hard to even contemplate what they are going through and my opinion would always side with theirs. If they believed Letby was innocent, then I'd fully support a retrial. Of course I have faith in the British justice legal system. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But as proved, it's why high profile cases like this can be so challenging, and why the likes of Reform are so dangerous when they whip the public in to a frenzy. They are literally enabling people to get away with murder.

Just don't see how they exist in the current format though, Reform is eating their vote gains from Brexit and the Centrists are pivoting to Lib Dems or even Labour. Of course they will be back, but they either need to move back to the Centre or merge with Reform, which I just cannot see them doing.

If Richard & Judy think it's a miscarriage of justice then it must be a sham  Of course the case is political- I did not know the likes of Own Jones were questioning this too, so I'll take the learnings from that, but my point still stands, even if there may be for different motives. Of course I understand how court cases work.. I have actually sat on a jury before! My point is that regardless of any new evidence, a prosecution will put forward an argument against the evidence in a trial. To determine that this now means Letby is not guilty of any crime is far from the truth. That is for the courts to decide. I think one interesting fact is that as far as I am aware, none of the parents seem to have persuaded by anything.
