  2. Yeah you're not going to be able to turn an economy round in 6 months. It's easy for people to lay blame to the rise in NI and use that as an excuse to manage the PR (Shoe Zone is a great example of this). The moves Labour have made are long term. The key to unlocking the economy is letting the lower earners spend, it's why I feel giving higher earners tax cuts is going to be bonkers. That money is not going to be invested back in. I don't think it matters who is in power, the economy is fuked for a while when we have such high levels of retirement age vs working population and lower birth rates. Problem with the latter, is while the likes of alt-right rightly point to this, I'm not sure the factor is as simple as they make out. And of course the elephant in the room is fecking Brexit which hampers our economy massively.

We stopped playing at 5-1 up. Understandable, but once we lowered the intensity, it was a mission to get it back up. We definitely look way less solid without Konate, but we legitemately could have scored 10 against Spurs today. 4 points clear at the top and with a game in hand - I'll take that!

It's going to be brilliant. Amorim will moan that he doesn't have the players, another £300m will be spent on wing backs and midfielders, then he will get sacked and you'll get a manager in who plays a completely different style. Rinse and repeat! Ratcliffe really has ballsed up here, I don't think he has anyone to blame but himself. I know Amorim was the sexy choice, but I really do think Utd would have been better with someone of a similar style to Ten Haag.

Bournemouth are a good side, but yeah getting battrered at home is not good. The mid table teams have really hit a bit of form at the moment. Good win for Wolves too - I do think both Wolves & Southampton will be a bit harder to beat now and play way more conservatively. Big game on Boxing Day now!
  6. Another classic example of the alt-right jumping from the hoops and being very quick out the blocks about this one, only to sharply get back in their boxes when they realise the perpetrator has links to their idelogy. Farage is classless.
  7. Reform are campaigning for PR because it would benefit them massively. PR would benefit all parties outside the main two, as every vote matters and you'd see less tactical voting. I can get why people want it and sure it may represent the people more, but it would be way easier for any extremist party to get in to power. FPTP was designed to keep extremism at bay.
  8. PR would just enable Reform though, it's what they want. The FPTP system has its merits, it will make it very very difficult for Reform to command a good majority.
  9. Saturday 21st December Aston Villa 3-1 Manchester City (12:30) Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest Ipswich Town 0-2 Newcastle United West Ham 1-1 Brighton & Hove Albion Crystal Palace 1-1 Arsenal (17:30) Sunday 22nd December Everton 0-2 Chelsea (14:00) Fulham 2-0 Southampton (14:00) Leicester City 0-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers (14:00) Manchester United 2-1 AFC Bournemouth (14:00) Tottenham Hotspur 2-5 Liverpool (16:30)
  10. Yeah the economy is pretty rough, but it's hard to grow. Government borrowing is down so that's a positive. Issue is that the only way to grow the economy is to increase immigration, but Reform are telling you it's a bad idea, for them to eventually force through massive tax cuts for the 1% if they ever got in to power and tank the economy even further. Reeves is a good economist and she clearly knows what we have to do, but the media and certain powers won't let her do it, so we're in this annoying bubble at the moment. Labour's moves are the sensible ones, but I'd see how we're doing in 12 months time. I think as Iz rightly calls out, the danger at the moment is Labour will probably do a good steady job but will have lost the people (natural for people to go against the Government). Probably the only saving Grace is Reform and the Tories hate each other and I can't see a deal being cut personally, think Farage and his backers think they have too much influence to make concessions and likewise, I can't see the Conservative Leadership wanting to basically be run by Reform.
  11. Completely agree. Understand the winter fuel outrage slightly more, but this WASPI women piece is just noise. The State has formally apologised, but yeah paying out loads of money when we're already skint and nobody wants to pay any more tax seems like a brilliant idea. No Party mentioned it in their manifesto, sure Labour probably used the cause for political gain but like Iz said, I personally have little sympathy to people who lacked the common judgement to assume their State pension age without checking and doing due diligence. Meanwhile, we're likely to be working until we're 70 to recieve any such benefit.

Richard's face on Sky Sports was an absolute picture  There's no way Pep gets sacked, but yeah this does seem SO SO similar to when Klopp signed his contract extension and we fell off a cliff the following season. Massive rebuild needs to happen there and usually with Pep's system it takes 6-8 months before players get used to the way he wants to play.

That has to be one of the worst games I’ve seen all season. Two very average teams, but one standout player who was Amad!
  14. Arsenal 3-0 Everton Liverpool 3-1 Fulham Newcastle 2-2 Leicester Wolves 2-0 Ipswich Nottingham Forest 1-1 Aston Villa Brighton 1-0 Crystal Palace Man City 2-2 Man Utd Chelsea 4-2 Brentford Southampton 2-3 Tottenham Bournemouth 3-1 West Ham
  15. Anyone with a brain could see she would be a disaster. She doesn't cut through and she will say something absolutely stupid. The Tories problem is Reform are in their same space with how they are currently operating and are cutting through much better, especially riding off the early Trump wave.

I try and do it where I can. Admittedly I'm really struggling to force myself to do it in the winter when it's baltic outside and wet.. and dark. Such a great free event though. There's 700-1000 people at my local one so the starts are always a nightmare. I'm really training for anything at the moment so I just try and go for a casual mid intensity coming in between 25 and 27 minutes. Would like to go sub 23 minutes, but I always struggle with stitch if I'm going below 8 minute mile pace.

The original 28 Days Later is one of my favourite films of all time. I enjoyed 28 Weeks Later a lot too, but obviously nowhere near as good as the sequel (although that opening sequence is 12/10). The trailer dropped today and is trending and causing a huge social media buzz. mcvLKldPM08 First part of a new trilogy with original duo behind the project. Obviously the original was Cillian Murphy's breakout role and the internet is losing their shiz at him appearing as a zombie, although I think it's clever marketing as no way they'd spoil that and I think he's meant to be the main character in the final film.

Does kind of feel like the end for Ange now. Not sure who they'd get in to replace him? Ireola maybe? I think he is the next manager likely to make the step up to a Top 6 club from the Premier League, although I cannot imagine he would be cheap! Chelsea have won 5 in a row and have a good run of fixtures now. Definitely title contenders.
  19. I thought the comments Ratcliffe made about the rationale for raising ticket prices was such an insult. Raising prices mid-season is such a ridiciculous move and the justification being "oh but Fulham is more expensive" is so shit bag, especially when he's begging for public investment for a potential new stadium.
  20. Ashworth now sacked  The gift that keeps on giving. Wonder when the Glazers will get blamed!!
  21. Just still baffles me the supposed "football" men went out and spent £200m in the summer on Ten Haag's players to then hire a manager who plays a completely different style.
  22. Must admit, did find it a bit weird how everyone was getting giddy when Man Utd had beaten Everton and Bodo/Glint. Thjink Utd will be lucky to make the Top 7 this season. Amorim's team selections are absolutely bizzarre and his messaging to the media makes it seem like he thinks the squad is nowhere near good enough. Which is hilarious when you think of all the money spent!

Agreed, he’s gone. Although all those clubs seem to be in a bit of a PSR mess so I think it all depends on who they can find for free.

Just shows how fickle football is, 3 days ago we had people saying Man City were completely finished and Man Utd had found their superstar manager. Fooball ey
