  1. I'm quite disappointed with this appointment. Tuchel is so spikey, the press will get under his skin and I can't imagine there will be a great atmosphere in the camp seeing as he falls out with everyone. Not saying Southgate was the man, but he represented a 'company man' and knew the workings of the FA and how the media operated. Think it's a bit bonkers we didn't go for Potter to be honest.

I don't buy the conspiracy theories, I just buy in to the fact P Diddy was a very rich man with a lot of power and influence. The crimes alleged to have been committed keep stacking up, but he'll be lawyered up. I'm not surprised everyone is being quiet, they'll have been advised to and there's enough speculation around.

Marcello is a weird one, he comes across weird in the edit sometimes, but from other bits I've seen he's clearly well liked by the housemates. Could just be a bad edit. I liked Ali in the bits I've seen but jeez her vilifying is pretty uncomfortable. Think this is just one of those examples where the game and psychological aspect just gets in someone's head.
  4. Looks like the budget might be a little more happier, few news outlets running with the idea that Reeves is going to increase borrowing for investment. Be interested to see how the Left of the Party react to this if it happens. Must say I feel it is slightly risky, as it has the potential to really spook the markets, but if it's well presented, slick and thought out then some short term pain for longer term gain isn't a bad thing.
  5. Badenoch is also prone to massive gaffs because she has a big mouth. I can't see how she won't fall in to traps others set for her. Both are going to lurch for the Right. Just can't really see how either will really cut through to the wider elctorate unless things don't somewhat improve.
  6. Agree with Iz, I think Cleverley would have had a real good shot. Can see both Jenrick and Kemi entering in to a working agreement/coalition with Reform. But not sure either of them are moderate enough to win a majority. Personally think Kemi is awful, she’s a Liz Truss disaster waiting to happen where the Members love her, but they completely forget that their messaging doesn’t cut through to the public.
  7. Not sure where the latest votes will go though, suspect Jenrick. Not sure Cleverley wins in the Membership vote though..

The City legal ruling is interesting. Both sides spinning it as a win for themselves. but does look like a bigger win for the Premier League imo. This ruling btw was raised by Man City to try and undermine and help support their 115 charges. Not sure it does that - but does look like this has implications for lots of clubs now, which I'm sure the PL might have to help fund.
  9. We're less than 10 games in, I've seen every game so far. Lots of positives, but think we are still lacking in some areas. Not really seen enough how we react under Slot when we concede first too. Way too early to say we're in a title race, if we're still within 3-4 points of the top by Christmas then I'd agree, but not convinced right about now.
  10. He’s done great so far, not sure what more we could ask for. People will say our run has been favourable (it definitely has) but people also forget that away fixture at Old Trafford is always one of our hardest fixtures. I can see signs we’re getting better with each game, but there’s also masses of improvements we need to make too. Defensively we take way less risks than we did with Klopp, so it allows us better control, albeit I think our attacking patterns suffer so it’s a catch-22. Obviously our fixtures turn now so let’s see where we end up now. Losing Allison is a big blow too which will cost us too. Like Steve, I’d be really happy with Top 4 this season, I think Slot and his team are still learning and Arsenal/City are way ahead in terms of their playing style journey. Who knows what could happen though, but the next 6-8 weeks will tell us a lot.
  11. Will be interesting to see which track takes off - clearly Sympathy is a Knife will be the one with the most intigrue, especially with who the song is about. Looking forward to this, although so many songs on brat are top notch that I really hope these remixes add their own thing.
  12. Tuchel would be a disaster. He'd come, want to spend a load of money in January and have way too much power, no way he'd want to do a Head Coach role. A literal gamble at finishing in the Top 5 to get CL. Ineos clearly have no idea what style of football Utd want to play etc. - bonkers!
  13. Got no intention of seeing this anymore with how everyone is slating it  Maybe I'll watch eventually just to see but everyone seems to be giving the film a rough time. Such a shame as the original Joker is superb. Really does make you think who was in creative control of this whole project though. I read the stuff about them not allowing audience testing too which is madness!

Bit harsh on O'Neil! They've been not bad this season, but completely fell apart today. Think Ten Haag will be the first to go unfortunately.
  15. Saturday 5th October Crystal Palace 1-3 Liverpool (12:30) Arsenal 4-0 Southampton Brentford 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers Leicester City 2-3 AFC Bournemouth Manchester City 2-1 Fulham West Ham United 2-0 Ipswich Town Everton 1-1 Newcastle United (17:30) Sunday 6th October Aston Villa 2-2 Manchester United (14:00) Chelsea 1-0 Nottingham Forest (14:00) Brighton & Hove Albion 3-3 Tottenham Hotspur (16:30)
  16. VAR is pretty useless in it's current format though for these types of decisions, I think unless it is a MASSIVE error they're unlikely to get involved and just stick with the referee's decision.
  17. Most intelligence suggests that if Putin had his way with Ukraine, the Kremlin wouldn't stop there. Russia is banking on the West giving up and then taking Ukraine, or at least installing a de facto dictator there. Pretty sure after that the next steps will be to gradually increase their territory in the East. Personally I don't think Ukraine should concede territory, but ultimately I think that may be the only way. I do think a solution to the war though is sooner than we think.
  18. As much as I am a Starmer defender, I think some of the clothing donations are a bit off. And yeah so are some of the other MPs events they attended, but loads of people get work freebies.. I honestly don't jnow what the huge fuss is about some of it. I feel this is a very early storm for Starmer and his team though, clearly they are morally good people for the most part but they are going to be hounded for the rest of 2024 and be wholly unpopular, which is something Reform will feed off.
  19. Yeah Tuchel would be hilarious, he’d fall out with everyone and want too much power. Surely the move is moving towards having a Head Coach rather than a manager? Seems to be the fully adopted model now most clubs are going for, suspect City will too when Guardiola goes.
  20. Ten Haag another one to add to the trend, then who’s going to be next? I do agree that his time is over now, but it’s a terrible decision from the owners. They should have sacked him in the summer, instead you’ve now got his entire Ajax team with someone likely to manage it! Reminds me a bit of when Brendan Rodgers got sacked in 2015. The writing was on the wall culminating in the Stoke disaster. The owners knew they wanted Klopp, but our recruitment that summer was a power struggle and we ended up signing Benteke and to this day I’m not sure why if we knew Rodgers wasn’t going to be there for long.
  21. You're fighting on the cusp of FFP though and have to sell to buy. I'm not convinced buying and selling players is going to make things any better, there was a general consensus amongsut many people that Man Utd have strenghthend well over the summer. The reason Ten Haag stayed in the summer was because every other manager turned Man Utd down!
  22. She's the ultimate bellend though, sensing a moment to stick the boot in, must have been a terrible struggle for her accepting donations to fight her election campaign. Would say this is karma to the Labour Party for not kicking her out way sooner.
  23. Not sure I see Ten Haag survivng that.. interesting if they do. Personally if they're going to make the move, about now is the right move with the international break looming. Wonder if they'd go for Van Nisterlroy? Which would be just like history repeating itself with Ole  The club has been mismanaged for so long and Ineos are making some bad decisions imo. Just not really sure what their recruitment structure is or who is actually pulling the strings!
  24. It goes way beyond the manager though. Not sure changing the manager will do much at this stage and who is available? You'd be likely taking a risk on someone and imo the time for making a riskier switch is in the summer when they have more time to work on their style of play.
  25. You can’t win every game, these results happen. Is it even that bad a result? Teams should be losing games and dropping points at times, it’s only this Guardioa robot revolution. Still think the biggest problem at Man Utd is the club structure. Even though there’s a “proper football” structure in place now, the signings made in the summer look like a club who don’t really know what they want to achieve. Ten Haag is still a problem but who do they get when he goes? Part of the problem at the club is dealing with the pressure/expectation. It’s a bit like the England job really where I think you’re doomed to fail most of the time.
