  2. I think he will be gone regardless, and I wouldn’t even be sure it will be Alonso to take over. Our problem is our team are always the smartest people in the room, we think longer term which is great, but football is also a short term business. I agree Slot spent a lot of money in the summer, but if you factor in what we sold and also the fact we didn’t spend anything the previous summer I’m not really sure that can be a stick to beat him with. What I’ve been increasingly annoyed about with Slot is it’s clear we are missing a genuine winger. But I don’t think that would solve our problems. A lot of them are down to him being too stubborn and I’m not sure I rate his leadership style. There’s been a lot of red flags this year. Again, I’m not too concerned really. We still have a great squad and I really do think we will challenge for the title next season with a change. Just not sure Slot’s ideal style of football suits Anfield.
  3. It's all on Slot, we've been like this all season. Our players don't have the legs for the intensity of the Premier League, I've seen this game way too many times this season. We've beaten one of the bottom 6 at home this season, that is absolutely pityful. The football we play is boring, we don't create big chances and coaches constantly know our weak spots. Slot is absolute toast.

  6. For Thursday 13:20 - Bambino Fever 14:00 - Jordan's Cross 14:40 - Jade de Grugy 15:20 - Ma Shantou 16:00 - Fact to File 16:40 - Kikijo 17:20 - Road to Home After the festival so far, I'm put off by quite a lot of the favourites. Definitely a few fair massively overpriced (see Maljbrough today - anyone who backed that at odds on needs their head to be given a wobble). Think Woodhoo and Teahupoo should do well, but can't back the former especially with the form at the moment. Think there's value elsewhere though to take on the favourites.

  9. The only way we gte involved is if Iran start bombing our infastructure or bases overseas without being able to be brushed off as an accident. Certain people just want us to follow the US for our "special relationship" which is the most perplexing thing ever, as the US seem to take everything from us but never give us anything in return! Problem we have now is we have people who have no idea about strategy in charge and now the global economy is going to tank. Clearly a lot of the Middle Eastern nations want a regime change too as it is in their interests, but this probably pushes tourism in the Middle East back a few years. Suppose they might all be happy if oil prices stay high when they start producing again though.
  10. People also bought the album for the tour too didn't they? Anyway I've listened 4-5 times now and I think it is a really strong album. Agree with a few other comments that the sound that was inferred never really gets going outside of a few tracks. He definitely could have gone bolder, but on the flip side I'm not really sure he needed to. I found Harry's House a bit bland to be totally honest outside of As It Was. Can certainly understand why people are slightly indifferent about it, Apeture certainly never hit the same heights as As It Was, but equally I'm not sure it's as commerically as strong. I still think American Girls and Pop are the big singles in waiting. I really like Ready, Steady, Go too - definitely very leftfield ut certainly the most diverse track on the album imo.
  11. We will miss him, but he's definitely past his best now. He's still our best finisher, but the job Slot asks him to do does not suit his strengths or skillset anymore. He thrives off being able to be afforded space and he certainly misses Trent and some of the more direct football we played under Klopp. Just kind of boggles me that we ask one of the best inside forwards to hold width which clearly isn't his strength. Give him the ball early and he's still amazing, but with the style of football we currently play, it's not set up for Salah at all.
  12. Yeah it's kind of how I feel as well. An absolute scumbag, but the guy who murdered him was also a complete scumbag who commited a horrendous crime. The only difference is one was national news for weeks and the other wasn't. While I won't be shedding any tears, there's a reason we don't have the death penalty. Would have bene far better for him to let him live his life in misery in constant fear rather than an easy way out.

He's nowhere near ready to start every game. Absolutely clear he's a talent, but to be fair we are trying to manage him and avoid him picking up niggles related to growth spurts and his body changing. The likes of Jones, Danns, Bajectic, Gordon lost so much time due to their bodies not being able to cope with the intensity, growth and training. Plus I think with the style of Nguoma too, if you don't protect them they will have much shorter careers e.g. Sterling.. Just showed exactly one of our key problems this season though.. we lack width/wingers so we're so easy to defend against.
  14. Weirdly I have found this way more instant than Harry’s House. Agree with others it’s not as experimental as maybe promised. But quite clearly there are a lot of influences. I kind of get the impression this album has been curated in line with the tour, which Aperture at the BRITs highlighted. Think the most obvious singles for me are American Girls and Pop.

Definitely many years of investing in the wrong players or just players. I like Simons, there’s definitely a player in there but I think with that type of player you need to build your team around him (like Wirtz and Liverpool).
  16. Just proving what I thought and what usually happens, the new manager bouce has worn off and Man Utd are really struggling playing two games in quick succession. I will say it is noitcable how much it has affected the clubs in Europe this season with the extra added intensity. I think Man Utd should nail the Top 5 from here as they have the advantage with more rest. Bigger question for me though would be where does this leave Carrick? I'm really not convinced he is going to be a good longer term appointment

He's unlikely to be the same player though. An ACL at that age is challenging, will probably take him 12 months to get up to speed. Spurs look absolutely toast at this point! Long way to go yet, but they just look in a rucuss.
  18. Pretty sure as someone who has had to get a repatriation flight before, they’re certainly not free. You pay the pleasure of a commercial price for none of the experience!
  19. Something’s Heavy.

Two absolute stinky ref decisions today - I thought the Cunha "penalty" was ridiculous as the contact was outside the box. Then I've seen Rice elbow the ball away and VAR be like okay nothing to see here. Absolutely dire officiating.

  22. Somewhere that holds large amount of oil.
  23. Yet no-one has come up with a politically workable solution outside of soundbites and three word slogans to capture attention. We are also not in post WW2!
  24. They are already disappearing in the private sector and certainly will increase over the next 18 months with AI. You're looking at a huge workplace transformation over the next two-three years. I don't subscribe to the fact that AI will be as huge as some people are betting on (Copilot still tells me wrong things haha) but it is certainly going to have a huge impact and there will be a lack of jobs for young people, as they will lack the experience needed. The jobs that we will have a need for.. guess what.. there is a major skills gap! You need solutions to these problems either through developing regulation which none of the Tech Bros want or something else. And Steve this is entirely my point with stuff like "tax property". Yes in practice, it sounds great. But we currently have a property market which is largely stagnant, medium-high level interest rates, a council tax system which is wholly unfair. It's going to be politically a disaster to increase any tax on property as you know, people in SW London probably live in modset houses but have seen the increase go up dramatically. I can't see them being happy and they'll argue it's not their fault property value increased dramatically over a short period of time. I agree a great idea in practice, but I just don't see how it is workable. Unfortunateky the dial has moved too far and the ones who should pay more will find a way to avoid it.
  25. We have an aging population, low birth rate and are entering a time when it is highly like a lot of entry level corporate roles will completely disappear or become highly limited. So it's likely unemployment will be on the rise. If you decide to make bringing all private companies under public ownership as a flagship policy, then you have to question where the money is coming from. Just saying daft things like "tax the rich" dosen't cut it and borrowing a whole heap of money isn't good either. We're absolutely crippled by the bond market and need to get a hold of our debt levels, it's the stuff that abolutely nobody wants to hear as it's boring as hell, but it's the truth. And nobody wants to make the difficult decision which is tax rises across the board across our political spectrum, left and right. Part of my problem is Labour have actually delivered loads of actual left wing policies. I totally get the expected vibez are not left wing and there have been a few cock-ups along the the way, but people seem to have lost their minds to populism across the political spectrum. And I do understand why, as it's clear there is a lot of discontent.
