The Reform Gammons and Hot Air Ltd thread
Think we can safely say there’s more chance of Reform collapsing than forming a government at this stage.

Man United Supporters Thread Pt.II
Those deals don’t really happen anymore as they are so complex. I also can’t imagine Brentford paying over 175k a week for any player, considering Mbuemo is allegedly on 45k and is asking for 250k at Man Utd! I think Antony might get a transfer or loan move, but think you’re stuck with the rest without taking losses on them. Think Villa might be interested in Rashford still, but they look like they’re in a mess themselves with PSR. It’s why selling Garnacho and Mainoo are probably appealing as they appear as pure profit on the books and probably quite likely to get decent transfer fees. Personally, I know you guys don’t rate Hojlund or Garnacho but under Ten Haag these players were doing quite well. I’m not convinced what you’re buying and being linked to is necessarily better or an upgrade. Take Gyokeres as one example- Liverpool, Arsenal and even Chelsea seem to be avoiding him even though he's available. There’s got to be something even in the numbers or the player data that shows he’s not value for money.

Deals will still happen, they just won’t be formalised. Think the window opens again in two weeks. The reason we’ve got this splurge is the teams involved in the Club World Cup have kicked things off, so there’s a rush to get signings done to play in the tournament. Isn’t Rashford injured currently? I think the issue is with the likes of Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Garnacho is it’s well know Man Utd want rid and have to sell. In a game of poker, it’s far likely Man Utd are going to blink first. Don’t think anyone is going to stump up massive cash outside of possibly Garnacho. But Napoli seem more focused on free agents at the moment.

Solid signing for City, but yeah they have a huge squad now. Wonder who gets dumped from here on in.

Man United Supporters Thread Pt.II
That’s terrible journalism. No links or any concrete sources in there, literal headline grabs. Can’t see it myself as no one is going to be able to afford his wages. More likely to be a loan move. The paragraph below about Wirtz says Bayern and Man City are still trying to sign him 😂

Man United Supporters Thread Pt.II
Bayern Leverkusen have a sporting director, I think they will be staying very clear of certain players. Their highest ever transfer fee is about £20m too- reckon they will focus more on young value players or older experienced players to plug the gaps. Buying a whole new team at the same time is a recipe for disaster. Like I’ve long said, be interesting what happens to the likes of Mbuemo and Cunha. So many players go to Man Utd and under perform, so will be interesting if they continue to the trend or not.

Man United Supporters Thread Pt.II
There will be a chain reaction. The issue Utd have is Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are looking at strikers. Then you also have Newcastle looking for an Isak backup, Forest and Everton sniffing about in the market too. United need to sell to buy and at the moment the Market seems like it’s waiting.

Man United Supporters Thread Pt.II
The striker market is pants. I mean I suspect there will be a big transfer and then there will be a snowball effect. United are going to end up getting fleeced for Mbuemo, so can’t see any dealings unless the outgoings get done.

Summer Transfer Thread 2025
None of City’s signings so far massively excite me. Weird as they have such a huge squad and Pep wants a smaller squad. You’d think they want rid of Grealish, but not seen any clubs linked with him so far!

Summer Transfer Thread 2025
He does most of his best work like Salah, hugging the touchline and dragging a couple of men to him. Which is why I'm a bit confused as I don't see how he fits in unless Amorim is planning on playing him as a wing back.

Summer Transfer Thread 2025
Mbuemo looks to be on his way to Man Utd now too after turnign down Spurs and Newcastle. Must admit, I do like him as a player, but think this is an odd signing for Man Utd. Wonder if that means Amorim sees Amad as a wing back, but there's a lack of pace in the defence to cover that.

Stranger Things • Season 5
The Boxing Day launch for Part II looks to be a future tentpole for Netflix then. Doesn't really bother me too much that theyre splitting it apart, if the eps are gonna be 80-90 minutes long as it is, then that's a lot of watching to be doing. I'd imagine the finale will be 100+ mins.

FIFA Club World Cup 2025
Interested to see how this gets on. The ticket sales have been dire and it really does feel like too much football and an attempt to get the marketable US teams, mixed with Saudi and the big European teams. Ultimately I think the tournament will be a success, as there's so much money involved, but I'm expecting low engagement really. Think it needs a few more European teams and clearly they're going to have to tweak the format as it feels strange to have it without the current Premier League & La Liga champions. One other interesting piece is it looks like the teams involved are not having a pre-season at all really as the CWC is their pre-season! Don't know how that will play out over the season.

Champions League 24/25
Any team is gettable. In two leg games you can have moments and of course the atmosphere always helps or hinders. That PSG midfield is an absolute machine though and they are so effectively well organised off the ball. You've got to be able to win and keep the ball high up and push them backwards, I think that's the real weakspot in this PSG team. Was hilarious watching Inter attack in the second half, they would win the ball high up but couldn't keep it up there, which in turn invited pressure. Not sure I can remember such a pace heavy attack since 2019 Liverpool. Worth remembering though that their domestic league dominance means they can give their players a lot more rest to keep up with the livewire intensity they play at.

Champions League 24/25
Inter were embarrassing in that game. Well done PSG, like I said back in March after the Liverpool defeat, they were the team I couldn't see past. We ran them close, but ultimately they were better. Easy to say this could be a period of dominance for PSG, but I do think the likes of Barcelona, Madrid, Liverpool and Arsenal will strengthen weak areas in the summer. It's amazing how much more likeable PSG are when they have no massive stars/ego and a manager universally liked!

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
Sign, just like Sunderland voted for Brexit. People don't understand the gravitas and long term implications. Get a free $5000 dollars (which I doubt will happen) to keep people in line while the industry is sold off to Japan. When will he realise that the tariffs mean ordinary Americans end up paying the cost.

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
Haha Liam, you are so blinded on this topic. It's Friday again so shock, the TACO has made an announcement, just like other fridays. Nothing peaks more like protecting jobs than selling US Steel to a Japanese company.

Summer Transfer Thread 2025
The price quoted is £80m, which I think is about right market value for him. The BBC article is odd though, seems a bit of PR based. Think clearly Man Utd would like to keep him, but obviously they are in dire need of cash too. From the outside seems a bit of a tug of war.

Summer Transfer Thread 2025
Thought I'd get this up and moving with the first transfer window opening early on 1st June. Expecting there to be a lot of movement over the coming week or so, before it slows down until June. No major international tournament this year and lots of clubs competing in the Club World Cup and likely to be plush with cash, so likely to be a very busy summer! Liverpool have somehow got 10m euros for Trent.

The Last of Us
Oh come on! The Last of Us games are amongst the very top tier of games ever. The storyline in the first game is fairly basic, but the themes throughout that run through are so strong. The second game's narrative is unlike anything I have ever seen in a video game before. The violence in the second game reflects the story, and of course keeps people engaged in the gameplay. I can totally understand people not liking the story with Joel being killed off, but pretty much everything about the second game is flawless.

Premier League 2024/2025
He’s no better than Hojlund really. Probably the London factor with Chelsea, but he also might be being promised to be first choice along with CL football.

Liverpool Parade Attack
The drugs charges could be anything at this stage - doesn't necessarily mean anything, there could be traces of anything be it narcotics or prescription. What is most important is thankfully, it looks like fatalities have been avoided. I'm sure most people have seen the videos and it did not look good, so the fact at this stage it appears as if everyone will be OK is amazing. As a Liverpool fan, what irked me from the start was how prominent right wing influencers were already willing for it to be something else, sickening. Then of course when this turned out not to be the case, some influencers started blaming fans for attacking the car in the first place! In the latest CCTV you can clearly see other cars who are moving slowly or are at a standstill. The road was blocked off as vehicles were unsafe with the level of people. Such a fantastic response from all the emergency responders and thankfully the fire brigade were able to get on the scene so quickly to help with the people stuck under the vehicle.

The Last of Us
It's a bit from the game, but it just seemed so random. Honestly it's like the writers are stuck between a rock and a hard place, as they want to show their favourite moments from the game, but have chosen to have a reality that is a bit more grounded than the games, so I think some of the bits they have hoped hit the spot, actually miss. Don't worry you will be an expert in both WLF and Scars by the end of Season 3! And some of the background characters you've seen will take a bigger focus.

If what I have read is true that he's already come in and demanded the #10 shirt (albeit that could just be a made up rumour) then it's going to be brilliant.
