  1. It better not take place in an empty arena, just postpone it until the autumn.
  2. I just remembered there was a 2000s boyband called V, how long before any of their members sue the K Pop V?
  3. 110. Tame Impala - Lost In Yesterday
  4. Ciao Adios to 62.

Hardly anyone in the UK had heard of Aerosmith before Walk This Way in 1986 even though they had been popular in the USA for a decade beforehand.
  6. There was a post on Buzzjack a few weeks back explaining the reason why Roxette's 'It Must Have Been Love' from 1990 sounds very 80s was because it was originally released in 1987 in their native Sweden. It reminds me that they are several more 90s songs I know of that can pass as 80s. Go West - The King of Wishful Thinking (1990) - possibly the most 80s sounding 90s track there is, would not sound out of place amongst their 1985 stuff. The Cure - Friday I'm In Love (1992) - I'm sure many other folk would agree with me. House of Love - Shine On (1990) - Although it was released just into the 90s it can pass for 1986 or 1987. Gary Clail on U Sound System - Human Nature (1991) - Can pass for 1988 or 1989. Paula Cole - Where Have All the Cowboys Gone - I swore it came out in the 80s but was stunned that it's from as late as 1997!
  7. 5 Seconds of Summer are Australian by the way.

Looks like 2020 could be a huge year in transition on Radio 1 with a new controller forthcoming, so who do you think will leave and move around the schedules? Scott Mills will leave the station altogether at the end of the year. Katie Thistleton and Cel Spelman promoted to main Friday chart show in the summer. Two of the Christmas talent hosts will replace Katie and Cel on Life Hacks/First look chart. Adele Roberts will leave the station to focus on podcasting with Arielle Free replacing her on early breakfast. Christmas talent host will replace Arielle on weekend early breakfast. Maya Jama will leave the station to focus on her growing TV career, replaced by Rickie, Melvin and Charlie and they will also do Sunday mornings. Jordan North replaces the departing Nick Grimshaw on Drive in the autumn Two or three Christmas talent hosts will replace Rickie, Melvin and Charlie on weekday evenings.
  9. 7. Endor - Pump It Up
  10. Next week's chart is Cliff's very last chance to make the top 40 for seven successive decades. Mistletoe and Wine currently at 98 makes his situation look bleak.
  11. Dua Lipa - Swansong
  12. They haven't done so for a few years, you clearly haven't been listening.
  13. LadBaby is a greedy b******! Just want a proper song to be Christmas number 1, devastated.
  14. Rigged, totally rigged. :(
  15. I still enjoying reading your analysis. Still a bit of life left in it.
  16. If it has not avoided ACR by next week then it becomes a serious contender for the Christmas number 1 so how much longer do you think it will last at the top then?

I see Compare My Radio is back online. Wonder why it went off the first place.

Why post an empty space if the channel will be off air until after Christmas?

Do you think elderly people would like Circles? It's a world away from Post's normal style and even Radio 2 have playlisted it.
  20. When it was announced that Scott Mills was taking over the Radio 1 chart show last year it was also announced that it would be extending to end at 7pm with the final hour having more chart related stuff but Friday Dance Anthems carried on in the end in this slot. Wonder why this odd change of plan.
  21. As an artist or group can only have their three highest entries eligible to chart, I thought that this could also apply to entries that are at least three years old. So for example last year's post Christmas chart (and for most years past and to come) would have had only All I Want For Christmas Is You, Fairytale of New York and Last Christmas eligible. Santa's Coming For Us would have also been at number 11 instead of 24 as it is not three years old yet. Problem solved.

Anyone know if Shotgun would still be top 40 without ACR after 17 months?
  23. Did Jess Glynne's early solo success impress Clean Bandit for them to do another collaboration for Real Love having already done Rather Be together or was the song already recorded by then? Would they have gone for someone else to sing Real Love if Jess's solo career had not taken off?
  24. I think this is All I Want For Christmas's last ever chance to be number 1 this year, the 25th anniversary plans will never be topped.

    Señorita at least has.
