  1. In my opinion, this is a really big year for the UK in terms of their fortunes. If Olly finishes really low then what next? Would officially confirm that Sam Ryder was a fluke although we didn't take it seriously with Mae Muller due to the expense in hosting again had she won.
  2. Starting on May 1st, entries which reach Accelerated Chart Ratio permanently three years after it's release date will need 1000 streams to count as a unit. the OCC have announced. This is being done to address the increasing Christmas song deluge year on year and to spare the situation where Wham's Last Christmas could be Christmas Number 1 year in, year out.
  3. How did the idea come about? Personally I would just be happy at just being number 1.

Karel Fialka had seven years between The Eyes Have It (#52 in 1980) and his only other chart entry Hey Matthew (#9 in 1987).
  5. Just disgusting, only 12-14 years of age as well, hope the boys are all shaken, hope they realise being arrested is hell. https://inews.co.uk/news/four-boys-aged-12-...ochdale-2901322

  7. Because Match of the Day is the first thing that comes to a lot of people minds when they see the MOTD acronym.

2024 Forecasts * 2000 Miles, Run Rudolph Run and the originals of Stay Another Day and Santa Baby could be top 40 for the first time since release year * Blue Christmas will continue to grow * Wonderful Christmas Time and One More Sleep now losing popularity * Underneath The Tree should be top 10 for the first time

Wham is Christmas number 1 for the second year running, the OCC further increases the ratio for ACR entries as a consequence. Diaspora voting costs Olly Alexander the Eurovision Song Contest although he finishes second. Girls Aloud achieve number 1 album.
  11. We should soon be finding out where Radio 1 will be having it's Big Weekend for 2024, it's almost certain however that the 2025 event will be held in Bradford as they will be the City of Culture and it has always been held in these cities in their according years although the Coventry event was delayed for a year due to Covid restrictions so we can rule out Yorkshire. We can also rule out Scotland as last year's was in Dundee. Think it will either be in Wales or the south coast of England.
  12. A record 37 Christmas songs make up this week's top 40, Noah Kahan, Jack Harlow and Tate MacRae with Greedy the only three non-festive ones to survive.

Please don't speculate about Cliff Richard's welfare.
  14. I can see Brenda achieving the most streamed Xmas track in the coming years going by yesterday's day to day increase.
  15. Yet Coldplay are massive in America.
  16. 40. All Saints - Black Coffee Reason?
  17. Last year's equivalent chart had no less than a staggering 34 Christmas songs, it looks like we are bound for yet another record amount this year although it shouldn't be a full house with Noah Kahan and Jack Harlow still charting high with non-Christmas songs. What do you think will be the final total?
  18. Shaky up to number 2 on Apple music.

There hasn't been a new episode since 2015. Maybe you are referring to the previous episodes.
  20. The earliest reference i have found is when Noel Edmonds introduces Boney M's Mary's Boy Child in the 1978 Christmas Day Top of the Pops. In the 50s and 60s, being top during Christmas week was just being top of another chart, by the time Slade and Wizzard were battling it out in 1973 it became a special occasion to be top during Christmas so are there any earlier references to the term 'Christmas number one' prior to 1978?
  21. Timex Social Club was known as The Social Club on the BBC due to advertising restrictions.
  22. PJ and Duncan/Ant and Dec of course Erick Morillo/Reel 2 Reel
  23. 6. Tyla - Water
  24. Is Spotify not a Swedish website despite their US centric Christmas playlists?
  25. If Shane had died around the 14th it might have had a far better chance.
