The idiot was driving, while intoxicated, with his 10 year old daughter in the car! According to new reports, Sambora has just plea-bargained his DUI case and plead No Contest to driving drunk. Luckily for him, the DUI charge was dismissed and prosecutors did not file child endangerment charges. Why Not?!?! Apparently, the cops and prosecutors felt that the evidence they had didn't support the child endangerment charge. Yea right. If you're driving with an alcohol level above the legal limit, you ARE endangering that child, yourself, and everyone else on the road! When Sambora was pulled over, he had a blood alcohol level of .13, way over the legal limit of .08. And his charges were dismissed? Luckily for Sambora, he had one of the most effective criminal defense lawyers with him, Blair Berk, who has represented several celebs such as Lindsay Lohan and Mel Gibson. And, also in his favor, the judge (who is probably related to the judge that sentenced Nicole Richie to jail for only a day) wasn't trying to get publicity or teach celebs 'a lesson', like the one who put away Paris Hilton for lesser charges. Sambora will be placed on informal probation for three years and will only be required to pay a $390 fine, plus penalties. The total will come out to be less than $2,000. He will also need to attend an alcohol education course. Someone got off too easy! From Perez

Richie Sambora was arrested for drunk driving Tuesday night. To make matters even worse, reports are surfacing that Ava, Sambora's 10 year old daughter, was in the car with him at the time of his DUI arrest. Police are not yet confirming or denying that it was Sambora's daughter in the car, since the situation is still under investigation. Laguna Beach Sgt. Jason Kravetz told Us Weekly that "There were three females in the car, two of them were juveniles. The officer [that arrested Sambora] formed the opinion that Mr. Sambora had been operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol." Sambora is set to appear in court on May 7th. :(
