Unreleased album tracks that could've been HUGE chart hits?
"Ladder In My Tights" by Amy Studt would have been a top 5 easily. I think "All I Wanna Do" killed her commercial career in the UK. I agree with the Leona choices, especially "Outta My Head". I would also nominate "Lost Then Found". La Roux - "Colourless Colour" or "Tigerly" as that would have been better than the failed re-release of "Quicksand". IIRC didn't it do worse 2nd time round? "Lift Me Up" and "Vanity" from Christina's Bionic, especially as "Vanity" would have been a great second single after "Not Myself Tonight". "Cruz", "Infuation" and "Impossible" would have been perfect from Stripped instead of "Voice Within" "Hello" and "Whisper" by Evanescence "Maya" from THREE instead of "Caught Up In The Middle". "Karma" from Headlines instead of "Higher". OK, it would have been 2nd again but still.... "October Song" from Amy Winehouse's "Frank" "Strange" by The Feeling from "Twelve Stops Then Home". I think this would have done better than "Rosé" "I Did It For Everyone" from "Join With Us" and "Mr Grin" would have been a better first single from "Together We're Made" although there is still a chance this will be released. "Glorious" from "The Illusion of Safety" by The Hoosiers "Tell Him" from Shayne's Ward "Breathless" "A Better Man" instead of "Stand By Me" from his debut. I reckon that would have got him another #1. "Lover" or "Sparkle" from Sophie Ellis Bextor's "Read My Lips" instead of "Music Gets The Best Of Me" "f*** You" instead of "22" from Lily's "It's Not Me It's You" "The Walls Keep Saying Your Name" instead of "Won't Change You" from "Shoot from The Hip" by Sophie EB. That would have whipped Sticky Vicky's bony ass easily, especially with a big thumping dance remix. "Kidz" by Plan B off his debut album would have done OK, but there was no chance for any of those songs to make the top 40. "Mama" and "No Good" were the safest bets. "Love Is Pain", "Turn To Stone", "Rolling Back The Rivers Of Time" from GA's "Out of Control" instead of "The Promise". All three songs would have been huge. "Models" or "Swinging London Town" from Chemistry instead of "Biology". "Love/Hate" from "Sound Of The Underground". "Big Brother" from "What Will The Neighbour's Say" and "Girl Overboard" from "Tangled Up".

iTunes Chart: June 2011 (III)
I am being serious. We need to stop the R and B generic American rubbish from hijacking the charts. A jury will make the chart a lot better and stop crap going to #1.

iTunes Chart: June 2011 (III)
There is something wrong with the UK if Jason Derulo goes to #1 with such a lazy effort of a song. It's time 50% jury was introduced or even some sort of "seperation system" with the US acts kept seperate from the UK ones. Parade = enjoy life on the game as this song is a FLOP.

Non-Qualifiers 2004-2011 - What would you put through?
Since 2004, the semi final system has been put in. Over the years we've seen many a good song fail and many undeserved songs make it. What would you have put through and what would you have kept out? 2004 IN: Estonia, Andorra (Despite the bad performance) OUT: Macedonia and The Netherlands 2005 IN: The Netherlands, Iceland, Monaco and Andorra OUT: Macedonia, Moldova, Croatia and Denmark 2006 IN: Cyprus and Albania OUT: Lithuania and Sweden (sorry) 2007 IN: Andorra, Portugal, Iceland and Denmark OUT: Turkey, Latvia, Slovenia and Belarus 2008: SEMI 1 IN: The Netherlands, San Marino, Slovenia and Andorra OUT: Azerabaijan, Finland, Romania and Poland SEMI 2 IN: Hungary, Bulgaria and Belarus OUT: Georgia, Latvia and Croatia 2009: SEMI 1 IN: Andorra, Montenegro OUT: Romania and Sweden SEMI 2 IN: Hungary (Zoli was more sexier and talented than Sakis), Poland, Ireland and Slovakia OUT: Lithuania, Croatia, Greece and Denmark 2010: SEMI 1 IN: Slovakia, Malta, Estonia and Poland OUT: Russia, Portugal, Bosnia and Iceland (sorry) SEMI 2 IN: Sweden (WHY??) and The Netherlands OUT: Armenia and Cyprus 2011: SEMI 1 IN: San Marino, Turkey and Albania OUT: Iceland, Georgia and Switzerland SEMI 2 IN: Israel, Bulgaria and The Netherlands OUT: Ireland, Moldova and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

How come boy band/girl band still do well in the UK?
Korean and J Pop are very good and are of a high standard. Shame both countries can't enter ESC :(
-
Which national final songs would have done well in ESC?
Jamala sounds like a strangled cat. I don't think she'd have qualified or if she did make it, I could see her getting the same fate as Greenjolly and finishing bottom 5.
-
Which national final songs would have done well in ESC?
I think Zlata would have got the same score as Mika.....I think if Pridohko monster tried again, she'd have done worse than the god-awful "Mamo".
-
Which national final songs would have done well in ESC?
I don't know what it is, but Astin Min Einur reminds me of a poor mans version of Niamh's song last year. She is a good vocalist no doubt, but it leaves me cold.

Which national final songs would have done well in ESC?
I forgot about "bast*rdo"....yes that would have been a top 3er too :) This is a brilliant one too:

Which national final songs would have done well in ESC?
What I meant with Shiri or a Nadine is, it would have either done great or done poorly like Nadine did. I think Ithaka Maria would have done the same as Getter.

Which national final songs would have done well in ESC?
Now that ESC is over for another year, which songs would have done better for countries that didn't do well or not as well this year. Here is my list: Armenia - "Ayo" would have been top 10 in Dusseldorf easily. Very Kesha like and contemporary. Much better than the joke "Boom Boom". Albania - Aurela was a good choice, but Alban and Miriam would have got into the final. Austria - Nadine was the best choice. 18th was too low in ESC :( Belgium - Sarina Cohn the runner-up would have sneaked into the final. It would have been 20-25th in the final, but a magical song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W_Rl08VEt0 Bulgaria - It had to be Poli.....however Milena would have got through a la the freak show factor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r7e_Rr_dDs Croatia - It should have been Jacques Houdek instead of Daria. Any of his renditions of the three songs would have made it. Estonia - Getter was a good choice, but I think Victoria with "Baby Had You" would have done better. Finland - Stala and So with "Pamela" or Cardinat with "Rapture In Time" - I think these would have done top 10! Greece - I would have loved Nikki Ponte or Valanto, but Stereo Mike and the lovely Loukas were the right choices. Top 10 would have been achieved no matter what. Iceland - Yohanna!!!!! She would have won. Israel - "Ding Dong" was good, but the performance lacked on the night, plus she was very flat on the Hebrew parts. I think Adi Cohen's powerful ballad could have done a Shiri or a Nadine Beiler Lithuania - I think the right choice was made. Malta - Glen was close, but I think "Finally" by Richard Edwards would have done top 10 ditto Kurt Galea with "Over and Over". Moldova - Zdoub zi Zdoub did well, but I think Millenium's "In Memoriuam" would have been a winner! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbVAFX0SoZE Italy - I think Natalie would have won ESC2011. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFZBHlhyRd8 The Netherlands - To me the right choice was made....but it should have stayed in Dutch. "De Stroom" the runner-up was another good song which could have done better Norway - Stella was a good choice....but I think they could have done well with Noora Noor - her song is very Adele/Amy Winehouse esque and it's a sound which people would go for. - This girl has a beautiful voice  I also think Susperia with "Nothing Remains" would have done really well, especially as this group does have fans across Europe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FBH31ojb6I Poland - "Jestem" was the best choice, but destroyed on the night :( Portugal - Filipa Ruas by far!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJWkqNzI4LE Spain - Great choice, but "Abrazame" would have done better Sweden - Eric was indeed the right choice now, but I think Loreen would have won, possibly Danny. Switzerland - I'd have gone for Aura with "All my love" which was eliminated in the semi stage of their pre-selection. She is known in the former USSR countries and would have done better than last in the final. Serbia - Nina or bust......that ballad would have bombed and "Ring Ring Ring" would have been 20th in the final. Slovenia - Maja easily. Ukraine - Mika was the right choice all along. I think Jamala would have not qualified....sounds like a strangled cat. Ireland - Jedward was the right choice. I think Nikki Kavanagh would have not qualified or got last in the final.

To be honest Eric, that one WAS a chav anthem!
-
iTunes Chart: May 2011 (V)
"Beautiful Girls" I remember it being a "chav anthem" when it was released....always blasted on buses and chavs were singing it - yet again I did live and work in a bad part of Brum @ the time. "Fire Burning" is a good song.....hope Sean recovers...my heart goes out to him and he's only a young lad too.

Pitbull is the "I need a bit of cash, so can I PLEASE rap on your song" type rapper.

No British acts in last week's top 10
As I've said, the only way around it is a) two seperate charts: One Domestic and One International and B) The critics have 50% say in the charts. I would also throw in a homegrown rule for radio which is in force in France....60% of acts played on radio have to be from the UK.

should singles 3 and 4 from an album be 59p on itunes??
I do agree with this. It seems the common factor that after the first two singles do oustanding, the rest will go nowhere unless you are Rihanna with huge selling power and popularity or Lady Gaga who has manipulated the chart with her songs being drummed down you.

iTunes Chart: May 2011 (V)
Yay to Rihanna and Alexandra!! Double yay to Olly finally hitting the top 40!!! Why is Leona's souless, Disney ballad, vocal gymnastic version of "Run" back in the top 100?

100 Reasons I Love...The 90s (NUMBER 1!)
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, that "Freak Me" song is nasty. So desperate. What is more disturbing is, I have a mental image of Dane Bowers singing this to Jordan before doing her!!! "Don't wanna miss a thing" = "My heart will go on" - Both from overhyped crappy films and overplayed. "All my life" - I just adore that song. Easily one of the best 1990s ballads. Also like Enya, Brandy and Monica and Def Leppard - all classics.

The Forgotten Classics Thread
Freefaller - "Do This, Do That!" - I know it's not the best song ever written but it has a charm to it. Catchy as anything ;) My hair was actually like that back then...but I was 20 and it was 2005. 4XNTGfYUgGY Vogue - "Twilight" - I can't seem to find the video to this song, but this was released in June 2009 and did nothing in the charts. The girls look and probably are working on Babestation and it's ilk ;) I'm probably one of the 100 people aside from family and friends who only the CD single of this! 1--J-SHZ_fc&feature=artist Bandito - "Rocking At The Disco" - Another non-charter from 2009, this one released near Christmas of that year. Very catchy and would work if it was sung by Cascada. Handsome guy I may say....looks someone who worked in the same buidling as me ;) We should have sent this to Eurovision 2010, but this would have probably done a Zoli Adok/Miro type result of bottom three. -vKCa8yEJoQ Will Young - "Changes" - Should have been top 5 easily.....very dark video and a beautifully composed song. uhpjB5IVH9M Rachel White - "Cinderella's Playing Out" - My sister used to go ballistic when she saw this video as she shares the same first name and said it was lent to a "shoddy product" - I disagree as this is a good song. I bet if this was sung by Britney this would have been top 3 Na7yLFyUHWw Sinead Quinn - "What You Need Is" - Why wasn't this girl huge?!!?!?!?!?!?!! She was so talented and had great songs. The show did give us a great winner with David Sneddon, but Lemar got all the fame as dull soul was in *at the right time* which I always think that lead to him being succesfull. Only made #19 in 2003, should have been #1! Album is brilliant too zP2n2jpoUHk

100 Reasons I Love...The 90s (NUMBER 1!)
Strike - "U Sure Do" is a 90s classic and would be #1 on my list :D 17 years on, this still sounds fresh. I don't like that Hanson song...I remember a girl in my class at school who was crazy over them. I wonder if she liked their comeback in 2005 especially as "Penny and Me" was actually a decent song! "I Swear" is too drippy for my liking.....ditto "Truly Madly Deeply". Other than that, you've a fantastic list. Keep up the good work.

Lorraine Kelly - WHY??
Why is this Scottish syncopant who gets moist over the slightest thing still on our TV screens? She's nothing but a fake and a sucker-up. Is she screwing someone over at Daybreak to keep her job? I'm glad I am at work most the time (It's unfortunate as I've got a very bad sprained foot), so I don't endure her. Surely there should be fresh blood?

Who is buying this Glee rubbish? I'm so glad SKY have bought the rights off Channel 4. At least the effect won't be as huge on the charts. It's just a bunch of crap actors miming to raped renditions of classic songs. It's the sort of thing that would finish 18th in a Eurovision semi final. Makes me mad. I've managed to listen through that Gaga album....my what a load of crap; bar two songs which are the underperforming ones - "Schiesse" and "Government Hooker".

100 Reasons I Love...The 90s (NUMBER 1!)
Can not stand that Titanic song. The film is bad, and the song is just one of many production line power ballads. Celine should have gone down with the Titanic with that odious junk. The song makes me want to vomit! "Don't Speak" is very overplayed, and the novelty has worn off on this now, ditto "Better The Devil You Know". The rest however, are all good :)

Retrochart - 23/05/87
01. (1) Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now - Whenever I hear this song, reminds me of "Family Guy" with Peter borrowing a video of Mannequin and him dead on the floor! 02. (3) Tom Jones - A Boy From Nowhere - Nah! 04. (4) Labi Siffre - (Something Inside) So Strong - Easily the best version of the song. 07. (5) Living In A Box - Living In A Box - The homeless song ;) Nah seriously, it's decent. 08. (6) Kim Wilde And Junior - Another Step (Closer To You) - Not bad from Kimmy - not her best song. 10.(NE) Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) - A tad overplayed, but hey it's still great :) 17. (7) Madonna - La Isla Bonita - Love this! 23.(NE) Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run (Live) - Classic. 25.(NE) Johnny Logan - Hold Me Now - Back when Ireland entered a proper song with a proper singer and won. Easily the best song of that Eurovision. 27.(22) Europe - Carrie - Prefer this to "The Final Countdown". Very emotive and powerful ballad. Underrated. 32.(39) John Farnham - You're The Voice - Strong anthemic rock song. He's very popular in Oz. 38.(23) Glenn And Chris - Diamond Lights - ewwwww 43.(28) U2 - With Or Without You - Not a fan. 50.(NE) Suzanne Vega - Luka - Another classic about domestic abuse. 56.(41) David Essex - Myfanwy - Is dedicated to the barmaid in Little Britain? 60.(36) Janet Jackson - Let's Wait Awhile - I quite like this :) 61.(77) Coventry City Cup Final Squad - Go For It - Believe it or not Coventry City did win something! 69.(44) Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive - Another classic. 89.(92) Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over - An overplayed if classic song. 90.(RE) Beastie Boys - (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) - Classic!

iTunes Chart: May 2011 (IV)
I've heard about five songs off GaGa's album, and I may say none of them match up to the genuis which was "The Fame".
