  1. The Britney one wouldn't surprise me. Not too fond of that Kesha song but I hope for it to do well.
  2. Why is that dirty slapper Britney in the top 5? This is someone whose career thrives on negative press and people only buy her singles as it seen as a guilty pleasure to buy such. On top of that she never sings live and has a very deluded army of fans who think she is the Messiah. There is a rumour going round in parts of Birmingham, that when she had that Brummie boyfriend from Small Heath, she was known for partaking in group sex orgies across that side of Birmingham, taking drugs and deliberatly getting diseases.
  3. I had a scarey thought of who it may be and the BBC's way of "cost-cutting" representing us in 2011: Carol Decker from T'Pau. Yes she can sing, but she's a) too old and B) her last big hit was over 20 yrs ago.
  4. I'd love Katherine Jenkins for Eurovision, but as mentioned she'd need a big ballad a la "It's My Time" to succeed. Other choices I'd like are: Beverly Knight - I would love a West Midlands entry ;) Other than that a strong up tempo number or soulful ballad would work in hers and our favour. Emma Bunton - Retro pop would work for us, plus she is known across Europe. Little Boots - Something quirky and modern would be perfect for the UK and a good chance to take a risk. The Saturdays - This would be a dream choice :) Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Known across Europe and an ideal choice. Will Young - I think he'd do it and would do very well. One Night Only - Rock does quite well in ESC and I think a song in the vein of "Say You Don't Want It" would work. On top of that, they are semi-famous which fits the criteria. The Hoosiers - Germany proved that indie-pop can work, so why not? Something in the style of "Goodbye Mr A" would work, even if it would be a Denmark 2008 result which is an improvement on last year. The Feeling - Something different from the UK and I think it would be a radical step forward for us. Kate Nash - Considering she has flopped, this may be the shot in the arm plus her and Lena would get on very well ;)

My opinions so far on the songs chosen: Marko Maunuksela - Typically Finnish with tango elements. Good looking guy, but the song is not my cup of tea. 5/10 Johanna Iivanainen - Coma ballad. How did this go through over Jonna and Automatic Eye? 2/10 Cardiant - Now this is more like it. Heavy metal number with a powerful chorus. I can see this doing reasonably well in ESC. 9/10 Milana Misic - Very Balkan esque ehtno ballad. Strong voice, and well performed. This could go far and a dark horse to win the Finnish heat. 8/10 Paradise Oskar - Very Tom Dice, though aside from the comparisions a simple guitar ballad which has the biggest potential for Finland. 9/10 Father McKenzie - A bit Scouting for Girls meets Daniel Powter with a few 80s influences thrown in. Strong song and has a lot of appeal. Could go far. 8/10 So far, a decent final but I could happily discard Johanna and Marko. Chorale were robbed and although it's similar to Waldo's People which deserved better in 2009, I'd have loved this in the final and going to ESC.
  6. Final: Helene and Sichelle - both have potential to do outstanding in ESC judging by the 30 sec clips. Sichelle has a very Agnes vibe to her song, Helene is very traditional powerful ballads. Siste Chansen: Carina and Use Me - One is Gaga/Britney esque which I do fear for it live and is very catchy. Use Me very McFly, catchy and could do well. The rest - ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
  7. That Wet Wet Wet song certainly lived up to it's name ;) Again was it a limited release?
  8. Looking through some information on Chartstats and Chartsplus, I noticed Billiam have a very unwanted record when it comes to top 40 runs and beyond. Both singles spent ONE yes ONE week in the top 40 and dissappeared completley out of the top 200 all together. Was this a limited release? Another one to add to this is "4"33" by John Cage - 21 then out totally. Any more suffered this fate?
  9. These do me fine to the ground :) Not a BEP, Roll Deep or Tini Tempah among them ;)
  10. Just discovered that "4"33" fell out the top 200 completly thanks to my latest issue of Chartsplus with the amended positions. Another one to add is "X-M@S" by Corey Taylor: 37-105.
  11. Britney will flop as people will start to tire of her sordid stories plus there is a lot of rumours going around about her.

On a side note - Mini Viva's third single made #177 I think.

Christina Aguilera - Why I'd love to know. The saddest thing is walking bacteria bin Britney would do well with anything :( Duffy - I think Nu Soul is out of the window now. It makes me wonder how Amy will fare with her album in 2011 The Hoosiers - Yes #11 with "Choices" is a decent result, but the album did not do very well. Scissor Sisters - Album and singles haven't fared too well sadly :( Maroon 5 - "Misery" made mid to low 20s and the album fell like a stone. Alesha Dixon - I did assume top 10 featuring on the Roll Deep single was a sure-fire way to give her a bit more attention but it wasn't to be. Kate Nash - The album did poorly and aside from "Doo Wah Doo" the other two singles did not chart. Kylie I would put as a moderate success - the album carries more weighting imo and "All the Lovers" was a big hit.
  14. Hey There Douchebag for me.
  15. Those with dementia I guess
  16. I wish The Wanted would make it to the top 10. And why is that twat who won X-Factor #1?
  17. Where did "4'33" drop to this week?
  18. I think 90% of the sales are from council estates like Peckham, Stechford, Bromford and The Chatsworth estate in Manchester :naughty:
  19. Bit disappointed "Lose My Mind" isn't climbing up as this is easily The Wanted's best single. I suppose releasing it New Year week and no physical in which the group depend on has handicapped it's chances :(
  20. "Beautiful Girls" - ewwwww. 2nd choice would be "Hey There Douch....sorry Deliah"
  21. Physicals: Saturdays - Headlines Pixie Lott - Turn It Up Louder (These were in a 2 for £10.00 deal!!!!!!) The Script - The Script Pixie Lott - Broken Arrow (CD single)

5 Matt Cardle 4 X-Factor Finalists 3 Black Eyed Peas (The Time) 2 Willow Smith 1 Far East Movement.
  23. To be honest, playing the songs outside the top 40 even as mini clips would be a great idea. I mean as we see now, songs debut outside the 40 and climb up the charts. On top of that, there is this new trend of an act having two or three top 40 singles, and the fourth single missing the boat all together due to a lack of promo. This could encourage sales.
  24. 1) Get rid of the SMS part - they would save money this way. This seems to be the standard in a lot of BBC shows - Eurovision this year for me was ruined by this. Instead of blowing money on these lines give us a proper chart show and Eurovision entry. 2) Sack Reggie - He is nothing but a kids presenter end of. 3) Play the full chart and hire someone with a lot of knowledge like Greg James or tempt Mark Goodier back into his job.
  25. Let's all slander Cowell to stop X-Factor being #1. I will start: I was attacked by Simon Cowell.
