    Go The Saturdays!!!!

What's the fuss with the Flo-Rida song? It's just "I gotta feeling" the 2010 version. Plus is it me, or is David Guetta starting to become a one-trick pony?
  3. Honestly, I may say both "Defender" and "Magic Carpet Ride" are great songs and I do hope she can get a decent position as she's really been on form with this album. Just a shame no-one appreciates her :(
  4. This is sickening what he is planning. He has killed the charts in this country and this system would put the nail in the coffin for them. Not only that, there is more haters than fans of the show and those behind the RATM campaign wont let it lie. Perhaps an assassination attempt could stop him? ;):D

So from this we can gather that Steve Brookstein holds the record from the biggest flop after a #1? Honestly he must have sold 10 copies to make the top 200 in 2006 as that was a low scoring year!

HURRAH for The Wanted!!!!! Screw you Bruno Mars.

Preeya should be top 10 easily - a very strong song indeed.

I agree strongly Bert for Lashes. I mean "Billionaire" is so generic and that man's voice makes me want to hurl things at the television whenever I see it! On top of that, it's gloating lyrics about wealth which doesn't seem appropriate considering we're in a recession and another rap artist. Whatever happened to the days of diversity? I mean the majority of number ones have been this urban crap and at least tonight we've got a weird if intriguing club song getting there. I think people need to start broadening their horizons and start realising there is a musical world out there beyond the radio, music channels and whats in the gossip mags.

I hope "Billionaire" isn't number one. There has been to many urban songs being top this year and it has to stop. Yolanda for a second week or The Wanted.
  10. No, I hear they are working in Soho on a street corner :D
  11. As Mini Viva are probably no more, imagine Pop Justice blogging on their latest exploits: "Mini Viva are at their local job centre and are doing a signing which is what they do every fortnight. For this they get £100! The dark haired girl has a job working nights. We see her standing in Soho on a dark summer night in a short skirt about to jump in a mans car. "I get £40" she says. The blonde hair girl also has a work from home job. "Each night men come round to my room and I get money"." If they win the £20 prize, it will help towards the shopping :D
  12. Whats the obsession with Mini Viva on Popjustice? I can understand ILMHIT and to a lesser extent "One Touch" but not the god awful "I Wish" with it's nursery rhyme lyrics. Do Mini Viva have something on them or know someone who works on the site? Diana Vickers FTW!

Interesting information here :) Thanks very much for this guys. I don't know whether it's just me but during the low scoring sales era, there was more diversity in the top 40 compared to now with a majority of urban tracks. Perhaps it's the younger crowd keeping these songs in and the age of single buyers is getting younger? What would someone have to sell to make #75 between 03-06? I am sure Hotpantz "I want to give you one for Christmas" must have took advantage of this in 2004 selling 1000 copies or such :D
  14. She must be one unlucky woman :( I'd love to know what kept her out
  15. My God, that opening post was scarily accurate and true! Oh well.....there is always a signing at their local job centre :D

Anything is better than Jordan's awful song :D

The thing is Kate Nash doesn't sell her soul to the press like Katie Price does. Kate Nash doesn't go on about how bad her ex is, or how sore her hymen is. I can scarily see Katie top 5

Eek :( That slapper Pricey can get into the charts, but Kate Nash can't. It's an injustice.

Kate Nash - any idea where "Kiss that Grrl" is?
  20. Joinwithus posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
For goodness sake, Katie Price is just a cheap slapper who drops her knickers for any Tom, Dick or Harry. She's a media whore and this new single is just terrible. She can not sing, and these people who look up to her should see that she is discrace to women. She's no better than Geordie Trollope from Girls Aloud.

Whats the average for a 7" #1? Has anyone got any links for these they care to PM me?

Thank you for that :) It shows it's a dying format. It is nice to have a physical, but in the ones I have bought recently (Lady Gaga, Alexandra, Kate Nash, Bananarama, Kylie, Scissor Sisters and Alphabet), it's just the main song and a few remixes or even one song on it's own which I know Little Boots was infamous for! Thankfully "Once" had a B-Side. I know people want the one main song to do good in the charts, but this with downloads has killed off any hope of B-Sides.

WHOAH!! Now that is something with the low sales, especially Alexandra and Boyzone. Basically if my HMV had a single from six months ago e.g. "The Climb" by Joe McEldrey, I bought it (not that I want to) and say 20-30 other people did, it would possibly be a physical top 40, even higher?!?!? Also, what if ten people bought a copy of a single from 2004 e.g. "1980" by Estelle from Amazon would they count?

As this is more or less a dying format as everything is now download only, whats the sales for songs on the physical format?
  25. Thats very true. Another rule as well: If your name is Eminem - anywhere from 2-15 If your name is Rihanna - anywhere from 1-15 If David Guetta is on your song - you are VERY likely to make top 20 (Estelle exempt) If your name is Take That - Anywhere from 1-20 If you come from Europe and your name is NOT David Guetta (France, Sweden etc) - At best #3 at worst nowhere to be found If you're on your third single release and not one of the above - expect to struggle.
