  1. I think Clubland make their money from the tours they have and there is a few big names affiliated with their label. On top of that they have their own channel on SKY Digital, which has...... PUBLIC CHOICE!!!! Something thats lacking on the EMap ones.
  2. Oh don't get me started with those "My Songs" CDs. It's always some douche with a guitar ie Jason Mraz, some dreary ballad "Red" by Daniel Merriweather and other stuff that wouldn't look out of place on a Heart FM, Magic, Bliss playlist. Shakira's "Gypsy" is awful! She seems to be channeling Cicciolina with her vocals on that song.
  3. Well the US special relationship with the UK has thawed, so who knows we may start becoming pro-Europe and record companies take note of that? The thing is, the stuff we're getting from the US aside from a few acts is all this generic urban crap. I think people need to realise it's NOT the only genre.

I can understand if it's a lesser known album track...but not a song that was top 40 under 12 months ago.
  5. To be honest...the lack of new releases is like a week in early January as opposed to the end of March.

Flo's hits I can understand somewhat, but there is a lot of potential on that album. Paolo's "Candy" - just a cheap cash-in. What next "Pencil full of lead" the re-release :(

I have noticed on the release schedule that 30h3 are re-releasing "Don't Trust Me" which was a top 40 last year and Marina and the Diamonds "I am not a robot" which was a flop last summer. Why is this? Both albums have tracks on there itching to be released and offer hit potential, yet stupid record companies seem to give us old songs again all the time. To me this makes out to people that there is nothing else on the album worth releasing. People would like to hear new songs, and not have a deja-vu of the previous years hits. It's nothing but money making for a gullible public. If it flopped, it flopped. We can't try and undo that.
  8. "It's a fine day" by OPUS 3. The original was by "Jane" which is an acappella song that had a 1940s video and sounds a lot like something from a horror film! 44EarOC8ueo
  9. Meatloaf - "It's all coming back to me now" (More passion than Celine's and better than Pandora's Box (The video is like a sado-porn) Meatloaf - "Out in the dark" (More convicing than Barbara Streisand's) Don Mclean - "Crying" (Again more passion) Erasure - "Take a Chance On Me" E-Rotic - "Winner takes it all" Dollar - "Oh L'Amour" (I am probably going to be killed for this, but this has more charm to it)
  10. Two examples in question: The common plan of having two big singles off an album, then a third single which is completly ignored in favour of the previous. (EG - Little Boots - "Earthquake", Kylie Minogue - "The One", The Killers - "This is the world that we live in" and "Dustland Fairytale" etc) Deluxe/re-release editions of albums - What is wrong with making a new album?

NO! The original was bad, this is even worse with the high pitched voices. Seriously, those who buy Glee need help!
  12. My top 10 so far: 1. Sweden 2. Ireland 3. Slovakia 4. Croatia 5. Poland 6. Georgia 7. Moldova 8. Malta 9. Greece 10. Romania
  13. Saying that I saw the same in my local HMV, plus MonkeyKnifeFight For Love, The Massacare Climb, That Peter Kay single and that Soliders Christmas song as well. Seriously, I think it's a dying format unless you buy online :( The Mini Viva song I saw was "I wish" that rape of a song.
  14. There isnt really much coming out isnt there? Compare to this last year, where we had all these fantastic songs being released and taking sales off each other.

I think Greece could be onto a winner with this song. It's catchy, sold well on stage and very well performed. As for replacing the singer, I think it's fine with Girogos. We don't need another bimbo representing Greece.

I think Serbia will miss out this year. The singer is freaky, the song is cheap and nasty and I belive only won because of the words "Beograd and Balkan". Emina could have been a shoe-in to win.
  17. I think it's normal service resumed for the UK. The BBC don't want to win Eurovision, hence us being lumbered with a no-hoper of an act and song. I'd rather Channel 4 take the bow, as I think we'd get an alternative approach in the pre-selection and it would be a bit more varied, as it's obvious the BBC does not care. The entertainment/Eurovision sector of the Beeb is a run by a few old queens who still think Eurovision is how it was 20-30 yrs ago. We've got a national broadcaster that doesn't care, and only wants to squander our hard-earned money.
  18. Is it me or can we see Justin Beiber saying in the next five to ten years that he was pushed into the music industry and exploited by rich parents? Belive me, this has the potential to end in tears. I think #1 in the albums is more prestige now than singles.
  19. WHAT! You can buy an album for that much! I know the 17,5% tax rule is back, but this is taking the p***. Also, I can see Sports Relief being a non year this year.

Glee - Only popular because the standard of television is so poor nowadays. It's just a bunch of plastic people singing corny covers. People need to appreciate the real versions not a fifth rate version of the song. Leona - Her career is drying up. She will be asking to appear on I'm a Celeb in the next few years. Rihanna - Whiney voice, and responsible for the floods of 2007. She should have be banned after that.
