I agree about "Life Got Cold" being forgotten.....shame it has been forgotten by their feeble single "The Promise". I LOVE this one of theirs from 2006.......shame it's ignored and fell out the chart like a stone: lSrymuib4xY Absolutely beautiful......their voices work well in this song.
  2. "Unbreakable" - I quite like this, and at least it was an original song from Westlife....shame this has been forgotten about as their covers seem to take presence and sadly their biggest hits :( "Each Time" - This was an excuse for them to reform, put the Brian Harvey "E is cool" saga behind them and try and challenge the likes of Another Level.....bit of a weak song imo. "Say My Name" - LOVE!!! Catchy as hell and I love the sassy sound and feel to this. Arrangement, lyrics and voices top notch *mwah* I hate "Jump" - a pointless cover version for a very cheesy film......
  3. "Kiss The Stars"....Pixie what were you on? It sounds like something from a dance mat game on the WII.......she should have been made to record it again or the song disqualified for being crap.

Greatest Hits TV (some obscure Sky/freesat channel) that never runs on time had a run down of #1s of 2010....."Green Light" by Roll Deep deffo escaped me....ditto "Beautiful Monster" by Ne-yo.
  5. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Natalie+Jordan --- turns out she did backing vocals for Louise prior to this. Probably got a family now, and is a housewife or working in another job.

I know this is recent..........but surely "Forever Yours" by Alex Day has been forgotten about almost four months on: qOW2eEz9cYk Another one is Leona Lewis with "Hurt" - to be fair once the new album returns, she will be forgotten by the public very easily. jom5AZnAOuc

Agreed....although "Ghetto Gospel" like Bob The Builder has the infamy of being #1 when a major world event happened....."Ghetto Gospel" I believe was #1 when 7/7 happened.

What is with Birmingham and mass stampedes? Bad Boys Inc in the 1990s and that JLS free concert in 2009. I know the city is a joke (yes I am from there), but we must have very stupid people. I know the lead singer of Bad Boys Inc is on FB too....he's actually gay - though it's law to have one gay member in a boyband :) :yahoo:
  10. Sex On Fire back again?  Surely there are some people with dementia in this country downloading.

I think Nizpoli were from Nuneaton or Leamington....I was living in Coventry at the time and they were mentioned a lot during their #1 reign in the local press for the region. Thankfully the house I lived in did not buy it :D Sandi Thom indeed was a viral hit on Myspace (remember that?) ditto Lily Allen the fourth.

I was glad that was knocked off #1 by Shayne Ward. It was sooooooooooooo boring and depressing. Yes I know he had problems at school with bullying, so did I and many others! I saw a live performance of it on CD:UK....if you think Jemini's vocal was bad in Eurovision 2003, this was worse!

Same here! The 90s tracks remind me of my childhood.....playing outside with my sister :) Bad Boys Inc - "More To This World" from 1994 - short lived boyband. I am facebook friends with the scottish member Ally....works for ESPN South East Asia...even hotter now in his 30s! Cjav09NYjnE Let Loose - we know they are very famous for "Crazy For You" which I am sure the public will remember once played on the radio or TV....Had two other top 10 singles that no-one would know from 1995 and 1996: "Best In Me": oG1tMvHc0Ew They also did a cover of Bread's "Make It With You" - can't find their arrangement online. Even diva's like Celine have had a lesser known top 10 hit....."Only One Road"..."Think Twice" and "The Power of Love" were huge sellers from the "Color of My Love" album, but also released was this hidden gem of a ballad: qMYlJiwFLUo

The last non-UK winner of Eurovision to reach #1 on the singles chart....and known in fan circles and here - Nicole "A Little Peace" from 1982. It was sung in German in the contest, and was Germany's only win up until Lena in 2010! o67vWrkWUAQ

"Seven Ways To Love" is cool :) That Space song is very underrated - shame they got lost in the mix. I loved "Neighbourhood"....I remember some lads at school took the piss out of a schoolfriend at the time because of the line about a transvestite called Patricia (his Mum's name). "Always There" - I remember it being a popular song when I was a nipper....very funky and catchy for it's time.

I think we'd be posting until 2046 with a top 40 thread...I'm just joshing with that ;) I think top 10 or even 20 is fine as that's "hit" territory.

I heard "Holiday" yesterday on Dance Nation! Have to admit that and "Dance With Me" (Thats due to Calvin Harris) are the only songs I like of his!

I think apart from a few nostalgics....these aren't that memorable: Blazin Squad - "Love On The Line" (my god could they even sing! Bad as the two screechers that got 0 in Eurovision a few months after.....) FCd2k2O85xg D-Side - "Speechless" - Their album was very good! Finally listened to it for the first time in 4/5 years. V4ngO8AaUJw This was top ten this time 10 years ago...."My Culture" by 1 Giant Leap...not even Robbie Williams could make this memorable: oWxWdS_-hVc I know this is pushing it, but can we have a forgotten top 40 thread?

Number 1 is played to death on Clubland TV....awful song though but hey the best stuff is underrated.

I think we've summed it to a tee with that list. I know this is recent, but I think people have forgot the annual X factor charity scam cover with "Wishing On A Star".
  21. "Bootie Call" is a decent song....I'm not a hater but it was not a #1 imo, even if I was excited at the time (I was 14) when it reached the summit. "One Love" I do like :) My sister was a fan of Blue, was always playing their albums and singles loud all the time lol. I wasn't that keen on "I Can", but we did OK in the contest :) "Slam Dunk Da Funk".....decentish debut from 5ive....my sister was fan of those too lol - They had better singles. I was told about 3/4 years ago, I looked a lot like Scott! Don't see the resemblance but hey, it was a compliment. I LOVED CLEOPATRA!!!1!!! - Great pop song, even if it's dated badly. Shame they were not very huge. All had fantastic voices, especially Cleo. Last I heard was Cleo on "Songs of Praise" where she was singing some gospel.....voice of an angel.

I would say "Never Leave Your Side" was unmemorable....especially as I do hum "If You're Not The One" a lot to this ;)

"America" has memories of my holiday to Benidorm back in October.....I heard it on the radio @ 3am whilst in my cab to Birmingham Airport. That is played quite often on my local radio station. I agree about the majority of the 2000 #1s.....I don't even remember "Masses Against The Classes", though I can see this being used as campaign for some reason with the Jubilee.

Sandi Thom was one that came to mind....I am sure it's memorable with some people, but I doubt the general public know it. She still sings but with VERY limited success. I prefered "What If I'm Right". David Sneddon.....again I doubt anyone remembers that, unless you're a Reality TV fanatic. Black Legend....insulting that was #1 yet "I Turn To You" by Christina Aguilera was #19....injustice.
  25. On a side note....did anyone own or buy this: http://www.allmusic.com/album/r386209 I remember telling my Mum not to pick that one up for me as it wasn't the proper album!
