I think it's one of those, that the public isn't that familiar with but popular with those into the rock scene so to speak.

I know MCR are a big group, and I know "I'm Not OK" from them, but this song is in one ear out the other!

I do like McFly, but even I don't know that song! One from October 2006....My Chemical Romance - "Welcome to the black parade" - This is as random as you'll get: kDWgsQhbaqU&ob=av2e

Agreed. I remember at the time thinking it was an anti-buy from people to stop Gareth Gates getting another week @ #1.

Was very annoyed that beat The Saturdays with "Forever is Over" :arrr: That Amele and Tinchy song is very unmemorable indeed....however, it's a great song and I have the CD single doing the rounds somewhere. I was going to say that Ja Rule ft Ashanti thing....they ALWAYS performed together on a track. I heard rumours about them - but whether they were true or not is debatable. "The Hindu Times" by Oasis - I do NOT even remember how this goes! RSLPbl8Nigk I am sure this was a mass buy by Oasis fans.

Which songs are lesser known or you struggle to remember what they go like despite reaching the summit? These stand out for me: "I feel for you" by Peter Andre #1 in Dec 1996: HHuprPm3Q4U "Bootie Call" by All Saints in 1998: oHI2WNGRA-k "Gym and Tonic" by Space Dust in the same year.....how did THIS go to #1? j6RQbhNQ6ko
  7. Not keen on "Larger Than Life"...."We've Got It Going On" is a very decent if dated pop song......and I LOVE "Power of a Woman" - however check this cover :D 2BL66mOGfEk
  8. I prefer "I Know Where It's At" to the overrated "Pure Shores" and "Never Ever"...granted it has aged badly, but it's a very catchy pop song :) Not to keen on the other two....that Damage cover is a bast*rdization especially as he sings "aks" not "ask"...poor...
  9. The Another Level song is a good piece of late 90s pop....love it now 14 years on :) "Bills, Bills, Bills" is a great little song though I do love the Medieval opening in the song with the harpsicord. Don't like the Hanson song :puke2: However, "Penny and Me" their comeback hit in 2005 was actually quite good :)

I heard "Outta Here" by Esmee Denters in ASDA last week! First time in nearly two years I may say.
  11. I remember obtaining some information from that era about a song....."I want to give you one for Christmas" by Hotpantz made #224 (or something) LOL....one year after making the mid 60s!
  12. Down to 10,0000??? I am sure Frixion (Crap boyband) reguarly visit the 8000-9500 region :D
  13. Is there a way to obtain info below 200? I knew about the Mel B one.....that was LOLtastic. I guess she bought 150 copies B-)
  14. Knew I should have mass downloaded that week :cheer:
  15. Both beautiful songs :) Love "Don't You Love Me" I know the lyrics make no sense, but it's a very strong ballad and they were the girl group of the 1990s.
  16. Agreed Liam. As long as it made it, thats what matters. I think with that position, it could have just been magiced or an I-Tunes position :D

I remember Raghav....yes they were forgettable, but I guess there was a market in the UK for him with the Asian diaspora. Grief Never Grows Old....yes I know it was for a good cause with the Tsunami, but ewww an awful song. They must have used a ton of incontinece pads for that song :D Lutricia
  18. As we are aware, the chart on the OCC singles site goes up to 100, some sites 75 and the official industry chart is 200. What would you could a non charter? Below 75, 100 or 200? Personally, anything below 200 is a non-charter as they've had not had an official placing. Have we any examples of acts hitting a position below 200?

Listening to this one now....."Voodoo Child" by Rogue Traders in summer 2006: SrlhLaNClgw&ob=av2e

I think a lot of the World Cup/European Championship tie-ins escape peoples minds after the tournament....saying that I did not hear that song or the "Hurry Up England" song at all during those football torunaments. I do remember one of the scumbag papers (The Star I think) telling people to boycott "Forca" by Nelly Furtado after England got knocked out by Portugal in Euro 2004....racist or what?
  21. Good point there :) Should be released with someone like Plan B singing it or working with The Specials on it. I was going to say "Swagger Jagger" by Cher Lloyd mainly because of the co-incidence of her getting to #1 and the riots last summer happening the same week :D
  22. Didn't "Sing if you're glad to be gay" chart quite highly? Another one I can think of is "Part of the Union" in the 1970s. I would love Plan B to get the #1 but the morons of this country want a woman beater #1.

I remember that All Star Tribute....did not like it at all. Mandy Moore - Candy - one of the Christina/Britney wannabees clogging the charts between 2000 and 2001. _e4e-eXWbbs In fairness, this wasn't that bad! Big Brovaz - "OK" - I doubt anyone can remember this....I know this was popular with the chavvy lads in my college class: 485xy7Ck638&ob=av2e Shania Twain - "Kerching" - It has a good message, but no-one remembers the song....I would add that coma ballad "Forever and Always" to the list but I know of a few people who have been married playing that at their weddings: iEe3hBXZEyI&ob=av2e Westlife - "Tonight" - Perhaps the best song they ever did! And one of the few original songs too.....popular in fandom and those with good memories, but not that known. HRupmMxIplE&ob=av2e Daniel Beddingfield - "I Can't Read You" - People only know "Gotta get thru this" and "If you're not the one" of his...plus Natasha's "I love you, I love you, I love you": gXf-0oPFNQ4 David Sneddon - "Don't Let Go" - One of the most unknown of talent show winners.....my Dad had his album and it was very decent. I like this: G8vHJ1VMYGs
  24. "Loca" what an excuse of a song that was......shame Moldova was an automatic finalist especially as there was quality in Albania, Cyprus and Andorra (Despite the slaggy dancers) in that Eurovision.
  25. Charlie was cute...don't like him now...scarily like my 1st ex's cousin LOL I prefered Matt, yes I know he did get a bit bulkier, but more to cuddle and love. 2003-6 was a dead period sales wise. I am sure you could sell 7k in a week and get #8. Downloads I feel have revived the chart, but there are too many long stayers.
