It's because of the combination of the two not only TLC. But the featuring between the Spice Girl and TLC's member was quite exciting. I would say the peak of the Spice Girls pretty much ended after Goodbye's era here. To be successful, quality alone is not enough, branding is very important too and sometimes probably more important than quality. That's how the Spice Girls are still holding the crown of the most successful girl group in history because of their geniousness of branding like no other.

With the help of Bryan Adams and Left Eye. Three of them, Melanie, Emma and Geri all did have the hits here in Asia. Never Be The Same Again, What Took You So Long and It's Raining Men but then again TLC was very popular in Asia as well. It's Raining Men was a soundtrack of Bridget Jones which was a hit globally, people at that time probably didn't buy the song or the album but they surely knew It's Raining Men's Geri version. Geri was painted as somewhat Brit Madonna and there were a lot of controversies among the music gurus over here back then too lol. The whole point was just that she did it on her own in her own ways and very successful, didn't mean to take anything away from Melanie. Geri is brilliant for me but she's selfish and lacks grit.

Plus, the other girls needed collabs to open the era and break free, Geri didn't and did all that pure solo, she even made the cover the huge hit lol, not to mention she's the weakest singer/performer among them too lol.

Rain On Me and Sour Candy were promo singles, no wonder they charted. I thought Sine From Above at least would have made it into Hot 100 since it's such a great track but well...

There is an influential and reliable 20+ year old western music magazine, dead and resurrected a few times due to digital technology and the book industry was struggling. But for the 80-90s kids this is the one, lol. They've been resurrected again online earlier this month. Also, one of them is a former channel V staff which was big back when the western music was flourishing in Asia, he had dealt with many western artists before, very experienced and insightful. So when the promoter is testing the water, they're one of the key choices. They stated that, the promoter had asked would you be interested in the spice girls tour after the pandemic? Would you come? Because the rate of the girls is quite high. As far as I know, to book the big artists to play, they have to compete against other countries in the region so they're probably testing if it's worth it but most of the times Bangkok always gets one.

It has to be the whole region to make it worthwhile. They can play arenas and charge high prices in Asia before heading to Oceania. Something like Madonna's Rebel Heart.

There are more tickets to sell for them. Giving away too much during this time, it could get stale.
