Spice World 2019 Tour • Discussion Thread
Right now our best hope is the vaccine. I heard there are potential 3 countries that could succeed. The UK makes the most progress. The scientists and doctors are pretty much aware that we can't live like this for long, people will be dead by collapsing economy as well.

Then there was some luck there. They wouldn't have toured this year anyway. Those stuff can build another momentum for the new legs.

I understand there is more to come. It makes sense if they don't wanna give us the whole thing just yet. It's actually a good sign.

I guess it's about the vibes and the atmosphere at those exact moments as well. To be honest, top k-pop performers are mostly great in terms of energy and choreography, they can outperform the girls easily but I guess no one could beat that moment when the we heard the first beats of wannabe, the five iconic cabs and the girls appeared. Back when the twitter was still clean, no pop stan invasion, the girls made that organic twttter worldwide trend happen. Pure power.

It's American magazine after all. You won't see Americans willingly admit that it's the Spice Girls who sparked that pop trend. It's always Britney or other Americans for them, in terms of girl group it's either the Supremes, TLC or DC because they're huge in America, the rest of the world is not important. Of course One Direction made the cut since Harry is still somewhat relevant there.

Coronavirus Part III
It looks like the point of the lockdown is to reassure people that okay we did it we are okay now, not really to contain the virus, and then go back to herd immunity as planned.

She's a perfectionist. Perfectionism leads to anxiety and depression, she's all or nothing because if it's not perfect it's a failure. While perfectionism is good for working but it costs you deep pain and suffering due to fear of failure. As she said, being with the girls is much more pressure because she doesn't want to let them down. Spicemania, magnitue pressure and success in that particular short period of time, press and criticism affected these girls deeply, all of them have suffered insecurities, mentally damaged, losing self belief and confidence, etc. Those stuff take years to heal even if you're in great hands, some will stay there forever. They weren't all perfect themselves to begin with, imagine going through those experiences all of the sudden. When they do weird things and probably not right or good enough, I hope the fans are not too cruel to them.

The Return of the Spice Girls Tour 2007/2008
I hope they extend the tour, don't make the new one, so that the numbers will be added to SW19. They can release new material and keep on touring like others and/or doing one leg a year like the Roilling Stones considering their ages and families and stuff.

The Return of the Spice Girls Tour 2007/2008
- Melanie C - 'Blame It on Me'
She's been doing promo worldwide online of course so hopefully she'll release this album properly and by properly I mean vinyl lol- The Return of the Spice Girls Tour 2007/2008
I wasn't fond of this tour to begin with. It felt ungenuine from the beginning, just something Simon and Victoria were using to set up her career after moving to the US. No wonder it's cold, lifeless, no heart and soul in that. Time has healed me a bit, after watching it properly it wasn't that bad lol, great concept and production but still cold anyway. I like Holler, It's Raining Men and I Turn To You Combo a lot. That's a great fun haha. Goodbye, 2B1, Viva Forever were beautiful. The first three opening songs were great too, The Lady Is A Vamp and Too much were fine but overall the intro takes the cake. Still it just goes to show that the Power of Spice is much more powerful than the Power of Five but if you put them both together you'll get a nuclear bomb. Thank you for the footages guys. Love my girls forever.- Coronavirus Part III

Spiceworld was basically a soundtrack album but they wouldn't have got in anyway. They were like 1.5 year old group, a toddler in the industries. Firstly, before crossing over to the Oscars at least you needed to be accepted first at the Grammys or being well respected artists for quite some time, Aerosmith was one of those. Secondly, The movie didn't do the songs justice at all, Viva Forever for example, the way they used the song in that scene was so lazy. The video on the contrary did the song justice. Today, they have a better chance. The Academy itself, over the years, has gained more younger members and more women so it's not so a hundred percent conservative or sexist like back in the day. The challenge about the music, to be broadly likeable today it sure needs more modern sound but spice sound needs to be remained. Can't Stop the Feeling with more spice sound probably? The girls are also capable of beautiful ballads that would fit some touching scenes, no? Something like "The Place Where Lost Things Go" in Mary Poppins, a bit cheesy yet classy, heartfelt and beautiful, the Brit charm with some modern American polished. I don't know. Something like Headlines and Voodoo won't do the job, I think, sound dated already. They sure need modern music people in the team for the movie. The song needs to serve the scene/the story well and vice versa, like a one-two punch, hit the audience right in the feels something like that. Personally, I think it's a fun project and I'm so ready for this lol, if it's a success it can go places. But success always comes with challenges I guess, another obstacle is how to get all five give their all a hundred percent. Lazy half-ass-ing won't get them nowhere. Remember what happend when all five gave their all and really believed in what they were doing? They were at the top of the world.- Spice Girls • General Discussion
Let me dream lol, true they won't win or nominated. But imagine, Spice Girls performing at the Oscars though. Oscars songs last year were awful and boring. There are also Grammys, Golden Globes and Baftas too. Seeing all those songs got nominated for big awards, can't help myself thinking about the girls.- Spice Girls • General Discussion
There will be challenges for sure. It can't be one dimensional cartoon for only kids. More dimensions and layers need to be added creatively so all audience can connect with. One good sign about Paramount is that they listened to fans, they took the time and put more money to redesign Sonic while Universal didn't' care. Probably one of the reasons why the fans supported them back. Also, it's been over 20 years, the girls can't not know their old audience. I won't hope for great reviews since the critics and press have always been harsh on them. But if they create good movie with great new songs, there will be nomination slots in song/soundtrack categories in big awards to look forward to as well but that would be too far to think about right now.- Spice Girls • General Discussion
90s is a big business since millennials have grown up, the girls are 90s icons. Meanwhile, musical movies also make big bucks both movie gross and music wise. I think they did a research about this. The girls can't go with the biopic like Queen yet, they don't have a big catalouge like ABBA. They're trying to expand their audience to the new gen, that's how they made their mark 20+ years ago, planting the seed into the new gen. "Unprecedented" is exactly the whole point like Geri said that they've always wanted to be the first to do it. Judging from screenwriters, this animated movie is aiming for girls , kids and probably families. Their personalities, chemistry and music really do have the potential for the fun cartoon movie. If it's a hit, they'll make money from the merch as well. They'll get support from spice fans but they need to be committed to do things together all five as a musical act to draw 90s casual fans back, like telling the world we're back. Don't count on the reviews, chick flicks never get good reviews in general especially from those misogynists and straight males, put the spice girls in there you'll get even more negative reviews lol. The audience is happy or not, that's all that matters. Paramount did well with Sonic, the designs, the fun and all that.- Spice Girls • Spotify / Apple Music / iTunes / YouTube
Right, what happened in the UK? PCD did very well worldwide with Don't Cha in 2005 though, probably the ringtone/digital download already hit the market.- Spice Girls • Spotify / Apple Music / iTunes / YouTube
My point was there was no technology to capture all views/plays back in the day after we bought them. So today artists have more advantages and it's much easier to be famous globally these days. But at the same time we also can't say that all the artists pre-streaming era had the massive impact just because of sales or hits alone because there were reasons why people bought the records or played the song at the time. All the sales and streams sure reflect the popularity and fame at certain times but only time can reflect the real impact imo. - Melanie C - 'Blame It on Me'
