  5. I'm not a huge fan but I believe The Red Hot Chili Peppers deserve one because of their longevity in the music industry. Muse and Keane as well! Those two bands have produced tonnes of great stuff that everyone snaps up in album form and the singles miss out unfortunately.
  6. I think Lana Del Rey will be just like Duffy. Very poor follow up.. Rita Ora will peter off like Alexandra Burke & Leona Lewis are beginning to... Paloma will still make good music but it will get progressively less popular like Alanis Morrissette Emeli Sandé, even though I'm not a huge fan, has the potential to have a huge hit in the next couple of years to re boost her. Adele might end up like Dido but I think everyone will buy the next album regardless of how good it is.
  7. 2000: 17 2001: 21 2002: 22 2003: 17 2004: 17 2005: 18 2006: 12 2007: 17 2008: 17 2009: 20 2010: 23 2011: 16 Average: 18 So yeah 22 is above average but not dramatically so. We still have 7 weeks left howevr. 29 would be a huge increase. Oh they're all on UKmix?? I was using that as my source I just compiled them into a database. Then by using chart points (100 for #1 and 1 for #100) I added up the best artists from each year and the best songs. It's quite easy I just used the formula... ((number of weeks in chart)x101)-(sum of each chart-position in it's chart run) So a track that went 1-27-X 2*101=202 1+27 = 28 =174 points So by using that it didn't take very long.

Loved Good Life! Such a shame. never heard of that Will Smith song though, says it all...
  9. Contemplated sending Nina Nesbitt and Imagine Dragons. Surprised they were entered I thought they were too cheap. I was last to confirm so I wouldn't have gotten them anyway! Good to be back, I'm excited :D

Cian'S Monthly Review: October 2012 October is always a busy month, with college back in full swing, my birthday and Halloween, the social calendar is always busy, but it's good to see that this didn't affect plays this month as there is a good increase of almost 28% on total plays. This month 18 year old Englishman Jake Bugg grabs the top spot off P!nk who falls 15 places. With a total of 90 plays, it's the lowest score for a #1 track since May when Marina & the Diamonds reached #1 with the same score. Jake Bugg's self titled album was released this month along with a notable amount of other albums which helped aid some climbers up the chart. The Killers climb to #6 off the back of their 4th studio album Battle Born. Ellie Goulding also climbs to #7 thanks to the disappointing Halcyon and also Mumford & Sons only reach #9 off the back of their new album Babel. Frank Ocean climbs back up 9 places to #2, thanks to the fact I downloaded 'Nostalgia, Ultra', his original mixtape, which did not disappoint. An old favourite of mine, the crooning legend Andy Williams sees a posthumous entry in the chart after I bought "A Happy Heart: The Best Of Andy Williams", which is jam packed with all his hits. He manages to keep Jessie Ware from the top 3 who's beautiful pop-soul album 'Devotion' helps her into the Top 5. Marina & The Diamonds finish the Top 5 thanks to her concert I went to on my birthday where she was stunningly good. Silencing the crowd in the ballads and then havig everyone dancing within seconds of each other. G.O.O.D. Music, Kanye West's record label, released their album Cruel Summer which I only caught onto this month. This helps see Kanye West and John Legend into the top 30. Finally, it's worth pointing out that Bastille climb 9 positions to #11, just missing out on the top ten. Unlike the 10 artists ahead of it Bastille have managed to stay within the Top 20 for 2 weeks on fewer than 5 songs. I'm so excited for the debut album so watch this space. Who to watch in November, Alt-J, Aiden Grimshaw, Muse, Tyler James and Calvin Harris.
