  1. Wow, I'm surprised with the amount of praise this song is receiving in this board. It's terrible and sounds like Jonas Brothers or, as someone already said, a "Busted b-side". It'll top the charts though, no doubt about it. But I don't think it'll stay forever at the top, quite the contrary. It'll probably be frontloaded as hell and then it'll drop. But tbh, I wouldn't be 100% certain on a number 1. I mean, the probability is quite high but you never know... who would think Take That's The Flood wouldn't reach number 1 due to Rihanna's second week? Or Leona Lewis' Happy due to BEP's THIRD single? It may happen, especially because loads of people will download One Direction's song ilegally in those 30 days up to the release.
  2. I think CKB was just poor. Rihanna had successful ballads before (Unfaithful and, most notably, Take a Bow).
  3. Firebomb by Rihanna; Dance in the Dark and Monster (Lady Gaga); My Heart Beats for Love (Miley Cyrus) and, although it's annoying, Peacock (Katy Perry) and probably Hummingbird Heartbeat too.

'Cept all the girls you mentioned had album sales bigger than Rihanna could ever dream of AFTER Eminen dissed them
  5. Exactly. If the album has already sold over 1.5 million, no wonder the act is having good airplay and isn't shifting singles.

Me too. It isn't as commercial but it's pretty good.

BTW, just an interesting fact: Parade have an EXTREMELY good P.R. team behind them. They're under the same PR agency as Take That and Paul McCartney. Have no idea why they decided to take them (they're extremely mediocre) but I'm assuming they have a strong management team? Anyway, I don't understand the huge amount of girlbands being released in the UK right now. Like, who the hell thinks there's such a huge appetite for girlbands? The Saturdays are, by far, the biggest girlband in the UK right now and they're not even that big themselves...

True, for some reason I ended up seeing the total views of another Soundgirl song. Extremely dumb of my part. But I do tend to think the amount of YT views is usually a good indicator. Every single song that reached #1 in the UK during the last few years (Tinie Tempah, Example, Dizzee, Jessie J, Roll Deep) had a huge amount of viewers prior to their release (close to or slightly over 1 million). Same for songs that did well in the top 10 (Wretch 32, Aggro Santos, Professor Green). I'm talking solely of local releases, obviously, 'cause you can't tell when the act is internationally known. I remember when a few people over here were sure Echo from Girls Can't Catch (lol, remember them?) would reach the top 10 and, based solely on the extremely low amount of viewers, I was pretty sure it would go unnoticed. Anyway, obviously YT views aren't the most reliable way but, overall, I do think they're a pretty good indicator. Then again, I can understand why some wouldn't trust it.

On the other hand, Parade has almost 270k views on Youtube while Soundgirl doesn't even 30k. Granted, none of those are spectacular but the Parade is clearly raising more interest.

I agree. Good PR and connections on her part. Not surprisingly she's having sucess and media exposure. Still, her musical career is nothing to write home about. Her sales are mediocre and her peaks are expected given the amount of promotion.

Nicole Scherzinger is hyped to hell and has an amazing PR team. Her sales are mediocre at best and the lack of album sales shows the general public doesn't take her seriously. She's a flavor of the month kind of thing.

People are being completely delusional with Nicole Scherzinger. Her singles are having sucess (that's the least considering the amount of promotion and huge scale TV shows she did) but none had spectacular sales and her album sales are complete sh*t. And you are completely disposable till you start selling CDs tbh.

You mean this cheap Rihanna knock-off?

Exactly, that's an interesting issue: US artists get booked for shows based solely on the fact they're "international" acts. Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor, for example, book mostly US acts due to the fact they're seem as "A-listers" compared to their local counterparts and all the exposure helps their popularity. Look at the ratio of how many international acts were on X Facctor compared to local acts (and 90% of UK acts booked were former contestants anyway). Shakira, Avirl Lavigne, Mariah Carey and a bunch of international acts with irrelevant UK sales currently are booked over extremely successful and current local acts based on the fact they're internationally recognized and had huge sales in the UK 10 years ago. It seems kind of dumb. TV priorizes US acts over British acts, that's for sure. Even shows that doesn't have as much impact such as Daybreak. For example, Hanson were on the show a few days ago. A local act with a similar chart run as Hanson in the UK (basically no hits for the last 15 years) would NEVER been booked but they were on the show solely because they're "international". And I think this extra exposure surely helps them over the "looked over" local acts, especially when it comes to shows with humungous viewing figures and influence (X Factor).
  15. It's on a Google Chrome commercial thats constantly on TV

Wow, bitter much? It was given out for free during 24hrs, the week has 7 days. Amazon has 19% of the digital market which, in itself, is probably around 19% of total sales. Besides, let's not fool ourselves, she would have huge sales in the U.S. without the 90cent promotion and Amazon lowers the price for lots of huge releases (3.90 for TSwift's last album, also for Kanye and Nicki Minaj etc).

I don't think she'll do promo on BGT tbh. She'll be in Europe in June but she's booked to be in Germany and France between the 9th and the 15th. The last BGT live final is on the 4th and I don't think she can afford to stay that long in Europe.

But Taylor Swift does have higher album sales in the US though.

30M isn't ambitious. It's impossible. It's like saying it'll sell 1 billion. "The Fame", which her record lablel claims it sold 23m, sold that with a re-release, two versions and couting all of the singles sales.

Those are huge countries population-wise but their markets are microscopisic. Legal music is basically dead in both and, even if she has imprescedent sales over there, it won't be even CLOSE to the amount it will probably sell in the UK, for example. So basically, it doesn't make any difference at all the fact she's tapping into those markets. At least, not for her total album sales. And 30m sales would normally be unheard of in any day and age. Currently, it's simply impossible. And let's be honest here, Gaga probably won't even reach 10m. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if she couldn't match Adele's sales.

I still think she'll easily go over 200k, probably 250k. And I don't think it would never open to less than 200k, even without her London promo trip. Guess you never heard of Madonna then And lol, I don't know in which planet her team is expecting for 30M in sales. That's not even a possibility.
  23. André posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
I'm raising my prediction to 250k.
  24. Judas is back in the top 10.

Her body is quite amazing actually. Fit and healthy looking. Personally, I don't think she's good looking but her body is impressive. With Graham Norton and Radio 1 Big Weekend, she'll probs have a boost.
