I've been loving the men's figure skating. I really liked the Swiss guy, Lambiel, loved his style, wish he could've done better.

That's true, I think they should come through. And they really are determined to do it after being the only ones not to twice! But they clearly haven't benefited from the home advantage so far.

Did anyone watch the Wales v Scotland game, such a good ending! What are people's predictions for how it's all going to turn out?

Yeah, it wasn't the best set of circumstances. They're still determined to win gold in their own country though, how do people reckon it'll go?

I really like it, I think you got your point across really well. Did you intentionally put across your own opinion a lot? I'm not criticising it, I'm just wondering whether it was intentional! I thought it was very well written, and you used some really good examples too. Definitely a good piece, very well written :)

Starts in 40 minutes! Not that Britain's likely to do all that well but I still love it!
  7. There are Roman documents that record the crucifixion of a man called Jesus - this is actually true. I'm not presenting this as proof that he was the Son of God or whatever, but there was a guy with that name who was crucified. And I do believe in "God" - I believe in a higher entity, whatever name you want to give it. But that's about as far as my beliefs go - I do believe in evolution, and not in the story of Adam and Eve, I don't know whether I believe that Jesus was the Son of God and I don't pretend to know what happens to us after we die...but I can live in hope. I don't have that much of a problem with religious people telling me my life is sinful, or that my relationships are wrong - after all, it's what they believe and they're trying to help me, I see it as them wanting to help me. As long as they're willing to listen to what I have to say then I'll listen to their point of view too. But I'm not going to live my life by anyone else's rules and dictates. As long as what I'm doing doesn't hurt anyone, then if it makes me happy I don't see a problem with it. The majority of Christians (I was brought up a Catholic) are now actually taught that evolution did happen - the story of creation is just that - a story. It was written to symbolise that God created us and all things, whether or not you choose to believe that is another matter :)
  8. I think that Labour would actually do a lot better to call for an election ASAP. Since they have to have one by May, I don't think they're doing themselves any favours by waiting - I can't see them becoming more popular over the next few months, and I really think that they're only going to become less so. So they'd do better to have an election now, while they're as popular as they're going to be - at least that way they'll get as many seats as they can.
