  1. 10 - Chase and Status featuring Plan B - Pieces The perfect song to get over a break up, this was the debut single from one of the biggest acts in the UK drum and bass scene and was the lead single to be taken from the debut album 'More Than Alot'. A big record at Radio 1 championed by the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and Jo Whiley, this record was a relative flop commercially but deserves its high placing in end of year chart!!!! Official Chart Position: 70 Dave's Chart Position: 2 A92qgDSFsGE
  2. There you have it then, 30 songs down and all that remains is to reveal the 10 biggest tracks left in my chart of 2008!!!! Who is your money on for the number spot?? I can reveal that for the first time ever on my top 40 singles chart no artist charts more than once so it could be any one of ten tracks from any artist!!!! Stay right where you are as music coming up in the last part of the countdown sees entries from Chase and Status, Guru Josh Project, Alesha Dixon and Leona Lewis. 4. So, 'The Alesha Show' from Alesha Dixon is number one in my album chart. For anyone who hasn't got it yet you have got to buy it, if you love good fun pop music with an edge and stylistically varied you will love this album....I do!!!!! We know what album is my favourite of the year, but who is the number one single???? Let's get into the top 20 with a colourful record that was a massive hit back in March 2008, one oif the records that thanks to downloads kept this rcord inside the top 40 for almost 5/6 months....
  5. The Album Chart Of 2008 Last year The Enemy were number one in the album chart with 'We'll Live and Die In These Towns'. 6. And that was the chart from 30 to 21 and as you can see a little bit varied in terms of musical style!!!! Firstly, welcome to P!nk who charts for the very first time with 'So What', a great song to shout at your ex, and I should know!!!! Special notice goes to Glasvegas who debut with the first of two entries from their debut album at 25, with one more entry to go could they get the number one spot, find out very soon indeed. The album chart is next but before all that, another quick mention, this time to the Sugababes who fair slightly worse than this time 12 months ago when they had 2 singles in the top 10. 'Denial' is the highest and only other appearence from the 'Babes this year which may come as a surprise but here's hoping next year is better, but number 21 is still a great position for a track from a 2007 album!!!! The chart continues as we break into the top 20 with music still to come from Dizzee Rascal, Glasvegas, Leona Lewis and Chicane but first of all, we have to take a break for the album chart.........

  8. Essentially a very British start to the chart with all 10 acts coming from this country. Just a few quick notes, Alexandra's appearence in the chart was very last minute and the number 33 record was between 5 records but I chose 'Hallelujah' because it was the last single I sold at Woolworths (R.I.P) over the Christmas period and I have fond memories of the record and my time there. Also orthy of a mention, it is the FIRST time the X Factor winner has charted with the Christmas number one!!!! Let me know what you think of the chart, is there something missing and do you agree with what I've charted, please let me know, I'd love to see what you're all thinking, the top 30 continues with our first American act in the countdown...

  10. Just before the countdown gets started, here's a look at last year's action, my number one single and album of 2007 and one track that misses out on an entry in the 2008 chart: Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat LOs15VnbeTI The Enemy - Away From Here (from 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns') 7ZCVds_Q3WE Taio Cruz - I Can Be Ar2pKa1fp98

  12. For anyone who is familiar with what I do, for the past three years I have compiled a list of my 40 favourite singles and my 15 favourite albums from the previous year. Forget the biggest sellers of the year, never mind who sold the most copies because sales (in my opinion) never reflect quality and so this chart looks back at the year of 2008 based on the music that was important to me and the records that made 2008!!!! The chart countdown will begin on Thursday morning, around 10am. I am hoping to post the entire chart, but if not I can guarantee the first half of the chart from 40 to 21 and then the rest of the chart will follow next Monday but for now we'll have to wait and see what happens!! In the mean time, I thought I'd post some of the contenders challenging for the number one spot and hoping to join last year's number one single from Robyn and the number one album from The Enemy. Below are ten sinlges all hoping to enter the hall of fame for the number one singles but which, if any, of these could do it. If you want to play along and make your predictions that would be great and I would appreciate the input from everyone on the site!! Singles Chart Contenders: Could it be one of these singles that joins 'With Every Heartbeat' in the hall of fame???? Chicane featuring Natasha Bedingfield - Bruised Water Leona Lewis - Run The Sparks - This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us Mark Brown featuring Sarah Cracknell - The Journey Continues Dizzee Rascal, Calvin Harris and Chrome - Dance Wiv Me M.I.A - Paper Planes Sugababes - Girls Mutya Buena - B Boy Baby The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age Of The Understatement Sam Sparro - Black And Gold Album Chart Contenders: Could one of these albums join 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns' in the hall of fame???? Sugababes - Catfights And Spotlights Glasvegas - Glasvegas Girls Aloud - Out Of Control The Killers - Day And Age Kylie Minogue - X If you would like to make a prediction from any of these than please feel free to leave any comments, otherwise, be here from Thursday morning when the chart will get underway and I will reveal my top 40 singles and top 15 albums chart live on Buzzjack!!!!! 15. Hello to everyone in Buzzjack land and welcome to my 4th chart of 2009 :cheer: Apologies for being absent last week, I was very busy and forgot to upload the chart so instead of posting 2 charts you get the most recent, as this week is a very big week, more on this later on. So, last week saw 2 new entries from Taio Cruz/Sugababes and Daniel Merriweather and White Lies were number one for a second week but can they make it 3 weeks today or will we have a brand new number one. On this week's chart we have 6 brand new entries and 1 re-entry and these are the contenders for number one so place your bets now and see if you can predict what will be number one this afternoon out of: White Lies Kid Cudi vs Crookers Franz Ferdinand Alesha Dixon Britney Spears See if you can guess and find out if you have got it right, but let's get a move on and get into the chart, which this week kicks off with 3 new entries back to back for your listening pleasure!!!!

  19. First heard this on my Virgin music on demand channel and thought the two words Robbie Williams and trance had to be worth a look!!!! I have to say that it is growing on me more and more with every listen, though I expect it could flop, I'd say maybe just top 40 on a quiet week just on Robbie's name but hopefully top 20
  20. And that is my chart for another week!!!! A new record has been set for the highest climb to number one, a massive 24 place climb for the brilliant White Lies with their debut single 'To Lose My Life' The highest climber before this came from Mark Brown and Sarah Cracknell, exactly one year ago when 'The Journey Continues' climbed a massive 19 places from 20 to 1. Who will be the next act to set the highest climb this year, it will be an interesting 2009!!!! Question is, who can beat them, can White Lies stay at the top of the chart for a second week will we have a brand new number one???? If you are wondering where my end of year chart countdown for 2008 has gone have no fear beause if you come back to Buzzjack next Monday, January 26th you will find out what my number one single and album of 2008 are from 12pm next week!!!!! Until then, please feel free to comment away and I will try and respond to as many as I can, see you next week for another chart!!!!!!!!!! :cheer:

  22. Hello to everyone at Buzzjack and welcome to week number 2 of 2009, and my second top 40 chart of the year. It is definetly harder to work out the top 40, I thought having more records would make it easier than a top 20 chart but now it is much harder to get the right music in the countdown, but thank you to everyone who commented on my first top 40 countdown!!!! Onto this week's chart, and can Leona Lewis make it a 4th week at the top of the chart with 'Run' or could we have the first brand new number one of 2009. This week's contenders include White Lies and Chase and Status, both with 2 entries in the top 40 as well as climbers from Kid Cudi, Kevin Rudolf, Alesha Dixon and Franz Ferdinand but can any of them make it to the top spot. We have 6 new entries and 2 re-entries on the countdown today, so let's get into the top 40 for this week......

Franz Ferdinand have got to climb a bit faster than that if they are to get the peak they deserve for 'Ulysses', I love this record so much and it really needs to be top 10 I am I the only one shocked by how big 'Breathe Slow' has been, I never expected the massive climb on the chart yesterday I hope this track goes top 10 soon because it is such a briliant track
