To be honest, albums aren't that expensive in HMV - especially when you compare it to other countries. Most of the albums are 10 pounds (or cheaper) which is around 11,50 euros. Here in my country, albums sell for atleast 15 euros or higher. So when I go to HMV when I'm in London, I'm also surprised at how cheap everything is. Although they have some weird things like the Sugababes' Sweet 7 being 16 pounds.

  12. Human, very surprised it's still in!
  13. Great to see The Flood got a boost after her performance. She did a great job, much better than the Royal Variety performance.
  14. Human, again! I have been voting for only two songs in all the 35 rounds. Can't believe it looks like The Promise is leaving, easily the best song left.
  15. Albums: Kesha - Animal + Cannibal I already own Animal, but they don't have the Cannibal EP over here so I had to buy the whole package.

  17. I really loved her during X Factor, she was my second favourite. I never thought she would release something, but this is pretty nice. She does look very different though.
  18. Lights On is pretty good, actually! Although I'm surprised to see it doing this well already. Very happy for Paloma Faith aswell.
  19. Olly's second version of Thinking Of Me has climbed quite a bit over the week, I remember it being #95 during the weekend.

To be honest, I am even surprised that the second, third and fourth act get something. And you have to remember to all get around 100k for the tour aswell. The only thing I really don't understand is why they have to pay Simon 5% of their income from the first year even when they are not on his label, like JLS and Diana.

Ofcourse artists who write/co write their own songs earn more money than artists who don't. But it's not all about that. Look at Girls Aloud for example. They have only co-written a couple of album tracks/b-sides and they have to spilt everything between them. But they have done a couple of huge deals, like the Kit Kat one, had a couple of television shows, released their own barbies and books and according to reports they are all worth around 3 million each, except for Cheryl ofcourse. Or an even better example, Britney Spears. One of the highest earning woman in pop who has barely written any of her own songs. And another thing, do artists really have to pay their own hotels, airplain tickets, security etc.? I somehow doubt that.

  23. I already disliked last years campaign a lot, but compared to this years 'silence' it was very credible. Really don't understand why anyone would pay money for silence. If you are doing to do a campaign, do something like a Christmas song or the original version of the song the X Factor winner is doing. Very great to see Matt with such a good lead!
