They are trying to push her in a new direction. The rock/jazzy "old soul trapped in a young body" thing she had going on American Idol obviously didn't work for her since she finished in fourth. I think these kinda songs are what she needs to launch her career, since she's only what, 17? On another note, I don't really see this doing anything in the UK...
