Predict: Pixie Lott - Turn It Up
She's an amazing performer, but her refusal to mime means that her voice is somtimes tired. When she's actually touring, though, she always nails it because she is on voice rest 24/7. I think this go Top 20, but sell strongly.

Radio 1 Playlist (05/05/10)
Radio 1 exists to support British music. It has gone off track a little, but generally it does not favour very American influenced British music.

Radio 1 Playlist (05/05/10)
The lack of support thus far has everything to do with ANL sounding too American. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing because I like the song, but it does eliminate R1 and R2 support. Alexandra's label aren't stupid, and they will have known that the BBC stations would be reluctant. It doesn't matter, of course, because plenty of acts no longer need such support, especially those as well known as AB.

Radio 1 Playlist (05/05/10)
Alexandra's label know that ANL won't get huge support from Radio 1 and 2 because it sounds too American. They will certainly not be relying on BBC support for this single, so don't freak out!

Pixie Lott - Turn It Up
The video uses the "radio edit" apparently.

Pixie Lott - Turn It Up
UK Album sales are about 470,000. Pixie has said that they are re-releasing the album later this year, and then doing a new album in 2011! The re-release will have the new US tracks on, and the song she has done with Jason Derulo.

Charlotte Church - Back To Scratch // September 17th
Charlotte must have had it written into her contract. The BBC would have avoided it at all costs, but I guess they wanted her! Looking forward to hearing this. I hope it's up-tempo.

Top 75 Singles/Albums Chart + Comps
Ke$ha - TT is #62 and BBB is #93 - TT has been out for twice as long. BBB was a big mistake. Has Kate Nash forgotten that she used to promote in order to get sales? It's almost as if she has given up!

Pixie Lott - Turn It Up
The album was doing quite poorly until they released 'Cry Me Out'. Since then, it has been selling remarkably consistently for a British pop album. 'Gravity' was a little too obviously just to keep the album selling, but it has done the job, especially since the price cut to £5/£6/£7. It looks like they want to start assaulting the singles chart again with 'Turn It Up', which has a new radio edit :cheer:

Sunday Chart Predictions
Does anyone have the Pixie postitions, please? :)

iTunes Chart: May I
Diana's has been building a huge lead all week - stop worrying! I want Usher to overtake but it won't happen.
-
iTunes Chart: May I
Diana will still be #1, no question!
-
iTunes Chart // April III
Chipmunk had to overtake Diana yesterday afternoon at the latest, but he didn't... she will be #1 this week.
-
iTunes Chart // April III
Although Diana will have already sold many more, it's not impossible for Chipmunk to make up the difference. If he were to overtake tomorrow, and develop a large lead, he would be strong competition with bigger sales on T, W, T, F and S. At present, Diana leads on S and M with the slight advantage of physicals. However, Diana will probably retain her lead with all the promo she is doing.
-
iTunes Chart // April III
Diana has had a huge advantage - she was popular on X Factor and the name is very familiar with the general public and people in the entertainment industry. The use of her name has no doubt helped her get promotional slots and media hype over other artists. However, these opportunities also mean she has had to work very hard. A promotional tour is exhuasting - and if it is successful it only paves the way for more promotional tours! In her case: Advantage + Hard Work + Commercial Sound = Smash Hit
-
iTunes Chart // April III
I'm not her biggest fan, but Diana has to be congratulated for getting off her a$$ and promoting like crazy! She has been everywhere! Pixie Lott did the same last year, and she also reaped the rewards. 'Once' is going to smash in the next few weeks. Chipmunk #12
-
iTunes Chart // April III
I would like Diana to get Top 3, but not the #1! Looks like she will do it, though.
-
iTunes Chart // April III
I have a feeling that the chart has frozen...
-
iTunes Chart // April III
Chipmunk #27 I imagine that both will be Top 5 this afternoon - Chipmunk is rising quite steadily, but he could get the Top 10 boost.

iTunes Chart // April III
Diana #4 Chipmunk #30

So It looks like Selena's gonna do what Miley
Other than 'Party in the USA', 'Naturally' is far more universally infectious than any of Miley's singles. She has promoted very well, and the label have made her record a priority. With Miley, singles were released and just left to sell themselves. Selena has promoted and worked hard for a Disney star, so well done to her.
