TT's lead is no surprise, but Daisy is not performing as well as expected! I guess she has done very little promo though, so the label can't complain.

Daisy Dares You (ft. Chipmunk) - Number One Enemy
She is miming. Look up a live performance and compare. Also her voice is so deep in the interview and so much higher in the song! Wonder when it was recorded!

Daisy Dares You (ft. Chipmunk) - Number One Enemy
She is getting slated for it on Twitter! Who wins Best GMTV Performance Ever, @popjustice? Nominees: @daisydaresmusic - http://bit.ly/chhEJz & Girls Aloud - http://bit.ly/E6Obc PJ: Excellent vocal performance from Daisy in that clip I think she will do it this week, but doubt she will get a second #1 with 'Rosie'!

iTunes Chart: February 2010 (IV)
You are right, people do not think like that. However, it is a more than well known fact that, on the whole, the more column inches you get, the more records you sell. Most articles about singers (of whatever nature) include a few filler lines about their latest promotion for their new single or album. What has happened to Cheryl is a terrible shame, but it couldn't really have come at a better time.

Despite these things, she has got an incredible amount of exposure over the past few weeks. She doesn't need the airplay like other artists do, especially at this stage in her life!

The weekend effect won't really kick in until tomorrow. I wish it wasn't going to take place, though! If she had been Radio 1 A-List, it wouldn't have made a huge difference because the bulk Radio 1 listeners aren't really the type who buy 'I Got You'. Those who are will probably be aware of it anyway. The BBC stations are only vital if an act doesn't have commercial support. I think Top 20 is great for Leona, and hopefully the album will get a boost in the coming weeks.

Ke$ha Feat. 3OH!3 · 'Blah Blah Blah'
Looks like Nokia paid for the video. Better than 'TiK ToK', but I am still a little disappointed.

iTunes US Top 300 [FEB 2010]
Thanks for these :)

Pixie Lott - Turn It Up
She did 'Gravity' later! I think it must be the first performance since that Radio 2 Show she did before she was famous. buGDtUT0OfA

They couldn't if his lead on iTunes stays this big, but it is possible if he starts falling.

That's what I was saying. She is reaping the rewards of the hype, unlike Little Boots did as it had died down by her release dates!

It was a smart move to release Ellie while the hype is surrounding her, unlike with Little Boots, as she is definitely reaping the rewards. For the music she produces, a top five hit is fantastic - even if it does turn out to be her only ever!

Ellie #4

Pixie Lott - Turn It Up
It is climbing again, and will be Top 40 this week. It isn't getting any commercial radio airplay at the moment so won't be pushing the Top 20 for a while. I doubt there will be any promo as she is in LA.

The Weekend Effect
All those who follow the iTunes Chart will know that every weekend we, in short, see older songs rise and newer songs fall. There are obvious factors that cause this, for example, the biggest rated TV shows usually feature more established songs on their soundtracks, and, aside from unreleased tracks, slightly older songs are bigger in the clubs. Still, there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to explains the effect, so if you feel you have a good understanding of it, please post your reasoning! Hopefully we can collectively explain the logic of The Weekend Effect once and for all! Sorry if there is already a similar thread, I couldn't find one!

Everyone chill out! The weekend is just playing games, as always. Leona and Pixie are both going to be pushed down by new entries and tracks that have been around for longer, but will start climbing again in the week. Leona is #37 and #95 - that's fine for now, and Pixie still has a few weeks to get some non-Radio 1 airplay! :)

Christina Aguilera's sales
Just a note to the OP, 4 million is WW sales, obviously, as B2B has sold around 500k in the UK.

Pixie Lott - Turn It Up
Doesn't really sound like her. Even if she meant to say something like that, I don't think she would say it with such venom! Maybe they misheard each other, or maybe your friend it just making it up

While I like Glee, and the songs it covers, I feel it should be in the compilations chart.
