It isn't because the videos are high budget or the stars a beautiful, it is because they are artists who have huge followings and many fans. If people see their video, they will realise the song is out and download it. New artists don't have those powers. You mentioned Marina, she has a fantastic video, and is very attractive.

That isn't an excuse for BEP. They proved that casual fans love their music and are willing to buy it with MMH.

'Gravity' has just been shot, she hinted on her Twitter. Apparently she is in the US for February, March and April, so I doubt there will be much promo.

I doubt there will be a major JB "invasion". Maybe one extra track will go Top 40, I can't see him getting more than a three or four tracks in the Top 75.

I love this "deserves" business surrounding the #1! The majority of artists have put in hours and hours of work and deserve recognition! Looks like GCC are about to go Top 20 :)

I'm sure GCC will rise steadily throughout the week, and break into the Top 20. No need for panic just yet.

No need to be so bitchy about the British public, everyone has an opinion and they are entitled to express it. OC is going to get the #1 when the airplay kicks in - it is selling tens of thousands of copies on hype alone. I agree that OC is amazing, but don't dismiss any stances that differ from your own.

That is a truly terrible chart run. I didn't know it was that bad. Things seems to be getting better, though.

'Echo' looks like it will go Top 15 at least - so they will probably try another single. Does anyone know what the third single is going to be? I suspect it will be strong than the first two singles if they plan to release the album off the back of it.

Or any hardcore fans. Every act has at least a few hardcore fans who buy like crazy, but the girl/boy bands always have the most <_<

It is one of the most high profile videos in years, it won't take more than a few days to edit. I doubt they will send it to music channels as soon as they have it though. Keep the fans waiting ;)

It's probably just promo. I doubt any huge artists would perform at the launch, but Pixie, La Roux and JLS are all big enough to get it some press coverage. The biggest sellers and established acts usually perform at the actual event, rather than the launch.

Sales of over 260,000 which probably means shipments are over 300,000, and that it has gone Platinum. BPI haven't fully updated their certification database in a few months, though.
