I know the last P'alme d'Or winner was a tad divisive on here, but I would seriously recommend this one. The trailer didn't seem like it would interest me much, but the critical acclaim intrigued me. It starts and finishes as such a different cinematic experience, it's so gripping and also hilarious yet with a tragic sentiment come the ending. Mikey Maddison is obviously wonderful and definitely a standout pick for Awards, but all of them did a great job

Critical acclaim has been huge (first American film to win the Palme d'Or since The Tree of Life) and box office respectable thus far for the budget, it's sure to get some Awards buzz, especially for Mikey Maddison's breakout performance.

Anyone targetting Daft Punk before at least the final 3 is going to be banned, no question xx Busted to go first, just a bit too juvenile with none of the charm.

Not true, these movies are really well done - jump scares are the cheapest form of scare and this film has somehow made them actually scary by the unpredictable nature of when they appear and not knowing when the next jump is coming, the sequences where she's alone in a dark room are chilling. Plus a lot of horror falls victim to characters being stupid, but in this case, they haven't got a choice as their reality is completely warped as it gets stronger and no one else can properly support as they can't see it. It's a great depiction of the isolation of trauma. I was wondering if this would just be more of the same, and while it was in some ways, it felt much higher scale and devastating which still made it fresh. You really felt the entity had more of a plan with this one and the troubled pop star victim was a great one to explore to make the stakes feel higher, it was gripping if incredibly anxiety-inducing, I'm not sure why I torture myself :lol: Naomi Scott was indeed fantastic, really got that balance between vulnerability and troubled. The ending was suitably disturbing and I'm very intrigued if they'll be a third one

I don't have my votes to hand as I used the form, but I loved that Stockholm Syndrome song so great to see that as high as 3rd. 8th place twice in a row then, I'll take it! Fitting for two ten minute entries, I do admittedly think this one could've shaved a minute or so, but I do still think it's really striking with a great build. They're actually Swedish despite the title and have a number of really cool gothic, darkwave songs that I think those of you that like that sound would be into x I think that points total makes me 2nd overall for Nuggets *.* (and maybe closer to 1st had I not missed that one edition I don't remember), still yet to get a win as well, bridesmaid curse still lives on here x Wonderful presentation and effort throughout, Doctor B, great job for a nice, eclectic edition of this x

Nothing slays more than Black metal Baa Baa Black Sheep :cheeseblock: I thought for sure that would've been Michael. The Axolotoes Mexicanos song was really good and quite a bit better than the ones I found looking for Masquerade. Top 2 is looking good x

It is a very easy title to get the other way round indeed! That is a 6Music find (shock horror etc.) the haunting and chilled vibes really creep up on you. I guess it's easy to see in retrospect now but it seems like the Democrats fell into the trap with just assuming that Trump is a laughing stock and (rightfully) completely unelectable and saying how worse it could be under him, but not actually making it clear why them. Through misinformation or otherwise, the average American has not been happy with the current administration and there's no promise of change, they have an option of change so they'll take it, no matter how internet-popular and celebrity-endorsed the alternative is. That may work in the likes of California, but the swing states work a bit differently. Having said that, it did seem like this was always coming as the polls were almost completely static throughout and the swing states were just unsatisfied with how things were so while Biden definitely should've never ran for re-election in the first place and they should've made it clearer that there will be changes, they had an uphill battle whoever they picked, especially with the double standards in the media (the amount of furore over Biden's suitability due to age compared to Trump's is ridiculous) It'll be a tough four years with full Republican dominance for at least the first two (really worried about Ukraine in particular) but silver linings and all that - he'll do about as well as last time, the world will still be turning and then he'll finally be gone for good (no way the term limits thing is going to be altered, that is steeped in their constitution and could start a civil war if that were changed, and I can't see any of his family having the same impact, he's a once in a generation candidate that we'll hopefully look back and one day sign in relief that we survived it).

So I know this entry wasn't exactly inspired (even with just the minor Buzzjack noise, he had quite a following and I did discover it through 6Music), but it was one of my favourite songs of the year which I really felt compelled to share, that first listen was just complete goosebumps and it's stuck with me so well over a fairly difficult few months for me personally, so I'm really pleased to see it resonate so much, and I hope it was a discovery to a few of you and if not, you have great taste anyway :D With how long it took my first win to come, I certainly didn't expect to see the second one so comparitively soon after! Commiserations to Rob, that was a photo finish! Admittedly more of a fan of the bottom 5 of the top 10 this time, all were in my votes and fantastic in particular to see Sovarasma and Trifoski do so well and I wouldn't have called that. 18th is a good position for GSY!BE, pleased it got top half. Could've done with a few of my other big pointers a bit higher x Excellent hosting Leww (despite almost killing me xx), thank you for promoting this brilliant film and sticking to the concept so well (Demi Moore for Oscar campign starts now). Not sure how I'm going to follow this and it's not the best timing, but I shall persist so watch this space (once we've had a bit of a recovery from song contest overload x)! (hooray at breaking the YTD top 20, this was previously looking like a fairly unspectacular year before the last few months)

Democracy being ahead of Economy is rare (even 2008 had that as first priority), really hope that's a good sign. Don't envy you people staying up, but may not be able to sleep much myself, here's hoping to not waking up to doomsday xx
