Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
So someone with no government experience and who cares more about shitposting memes than running a business properly in a government post and an anti-vaxxer as Health Secretary, God help you all x I mean if their track record translates to government, we have nothing worry to about right?...

🐟 BJSC CLXX / Confirmations 🐟
Welcome to the start of BJSC CLXX, we begin our journey through Animalia in the underwater paradise of Terra Piscium, there has naturally been conflicts with our Avian friends in the past, but we'll agree to put them in the past for now x We welcome all competitors (providing they've remembered their gills) to explore our underwater paradise and walk through our many colourful tropical reefs and parks that have discounted shoal tours and come and witness the visiting true inhabitants of a clownfish and a blue tang that travelled across the world's ocean. Your safety is our top priority and we have employed additional shark security for this event and we advise caution, especially when venturing to the deep sea and keep valuables safe, as angler crimes remain a risk to inhabitants. The ancient wreck of Poseidon's Voyage is the setting for competitors to submit their entries, before diving right in, please ensure you are keeping with the rules of the contest below: - Please ensure you are familiar with the general BJSC rules - Before you can enter, you must register a country if you are new. Your account must be more than three months old and you will require a Google account. - Please check that your entry has not been sent before, and ideally not to another song contest in the wider Buzzverse either, you can find the list of past BJSC entries here - All entries are subject to approval by the moderators who have a right to veto your entry if they feel it is too well known and not in the spirit of the contest. Please try to be inspired and send something others may not know. You are advised to check the Veto framework to ensure your song is acceptable. Any entries in violation will be sanctioned by our Jellyfish vetting team and risk being banished to the deep. - You cannot confirm a song by last month's top 3 artists (Father John Misty, Rebecca Black or REIN). The artist must not have an artist forum on Buzzjack and cannot be the same artist you sent last month. - Terra Avium will autoqualify for this contest and in the event of an even number of participants, Runners up Hendinia will also qualify. - Elëdan, Kyriatine and Ramrynia sadly must return to dry land and come back next month due to not voting in last month's final. - Please keep things anonymous until the semi thread goes up Please confirm your entry here You have until Thursday 21st November at 23:59 GMT to confirm, take to the seas! Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas? (2024 Ultimate Mix)
30 felt half-arsed and this even less so. As overstuffed as 20 was, I did appreciate that they tried new, contemporary genres at the time, they had an opportunity to build on that with 30, but it was a damp squib and this seems...almost entirely unnecessary, not even new artists? Can't see it getting near number 1 unless it gets a real push, it seems to just be a hollow 'event' release now which defeats the original concept.

Anora
I know the last P'alme d'Or winner was a tad divisive on here, but I would seriously recommend this one. The trailer didn't seem like it would interest me much, but the critical acclaim intrigued me. It starts and finishes as such a different cinematic experience, it's so gripping and also hilarious yet with a tragic sentiment come the ending. Mikey Maddison is obviously wonderful and definitely a standout pick for Awards, but all of them did a great job

Anora
wvSwg5gv88w The latest film from acclaimed director, Sean Baker (Director of The Florida Project & Red Rocket from recent years, as well as Tangerine, infamously shot entirely on an iPhone 5s) follows a sex worker's relationship to the wealthy son of a Russian Oligarch. Critical acclaim has been huge (first American film to win the Palme d'Or since The Tree of Life) and box office respectable thus far for the budget, it's sure to get some Awards buzz, especially for Mikey Maddison's breakout performance.

Round 1: Year End Survivor #100
Anyone targetting Daft Punk before at least the final 3 is going to be banned, no question xx Busted to go first, just a bit too juvenile with none of the charm.

Smile 2 • October 2024
Not true, these movies are really well done - jump scares are the cheapest form of scare and this film has somehow made them actually scary by the unpredictable nature of when they appear and not knowing when the next jump is coming, the sequences where she's alone in a dark room are chilling. Plus a lot of horror falls victim to characters being stupid, but in this case, they haven't got a choice as their reality is completely warped as it gets stronger and no one else can properly support as they can't see it. It's a great depiction of the isolation of trauma. I was wondering if this would just be more of the same, and while it was in some ways, it felt much higher scale and devastating which still made it fresh. You really felt the entity had more of a plan with this one and the troubled pop star victim was a great one to explore to make the stakes feel higher, it was gripping if incredibly anxiety-inducing, I'm not sure why I torture myself  Naomi Scott was indeed fantastic, really got that balance between vulnerability and troubled. The ending was suitably disturbing and I'm very intrigued if they'll be a third one

🐦 BJSC CLXX / Green Room 🐦
Good evening, we are pleased to welcome you back to the high skies of Terra Avium, we hope you had a pleasant flight and are ready to take to the skies again. We meet you at the official Migration station which can be congested this time of year thanks to the weather changing, so please excuse the many geese that may be in your path. This time we ask you don't unpack your bags as due to budgetary constraints, Terra Avium are not fully able to host this by ourselves, therefore we will be outsourcing BJSC 170 to the fuller world of Animalia and this will be a joint production between ourselves, Terra Mammalia, Terra Piscium, Terra Reptilia, Terra Amphibian and Terra Insectorum. Our experienced migrating Tern guides will be there along the way to guide you across the vast world of Animalia, Confirmations will be starting imminently on one of our worlds, so use this time while in the skies, to ponder your entry, don't think cheap, after all, you've got the whole Animal Kingdom to impress x

Nuggets XVII: The Result
Sheesh Addy, give the rest of us a chance! (:kink:) Great winner, sounded very distinctive in the listenthrough so no surprise at it winning. I don't have my votes to hand as I used the form, but I loved that Stockholm Syndrome song so great to see that as high as 3rd. 8th place twice in a row then, I'll take it! Fitting for two ten minute entries, I do admittedly think this one could've shaved a minute or so, but I do still think it's really striking with a great build. They're actually Swedish despite the title and have a number of really cool gothic, darkwave songs that I think those of you that like that sound would be into x I think that points total makes me 2nd overall for Nuggets *.* (and maybe closer to 1st had I not missed that one edition I don't remember), still yet to get a win as well, bridesmaid curse still lives on here x Wonderful presentation and effort throughout, Doctor B, great job for a nice, eclectic edition of this x

Nuggets XVII: The Result
Nothing slays more than Black metal Baa Baa Black Sheep :cheeseblock: I thought for sure that would've been Michael. The Axolotoes Mexicanos song was really good and quite a bit better than the ones I found looking for Masquerade. Top 2 is looking good x

Nuggets XVII: The Result
Beautiful presentation <3 Don't keep on track of Nuggets stats as much as BJSC so will be nice to keep x Hacktivist was certainly a memorable one! Linkin Park meets Enter Shikari x AliA was one of the best J-rock entries I've heard in one of these.

Round 2: Year End Survivor #99
True Love Never Dies as I’m less familiar with it than the others

Round 5: Year End Survivor #98
New Shoes, just a bit naff now. Scream was a fairly weak single from Timbaland though.

The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! Part VII
Ooh hooray a top 5 then x Clearly my fans were silent this edition, but thank you all for the votes for this criminally forgotten almost top 40 hit. Only my second big hit here after my win, song contests being kind to me this week x I loved how the Archives song developed as it went along, almost as good as Bullets in BJSC, a clear highlight and the other two were great, weird and wonderful finds. No complaints although 11th and 12th deserved much higher x Thanks for hosting Jester, very enjoyable theme!

The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! Part VII
I realised I already knew 2 Wicky from a past CD swap, good song with a lot of wonderful absurd imagery, sadly just missed my votes. Loved that whole top 3 so would be fine with all of them, but rooting for Bre for that change in fortunes x Edit: Oops too late, congrats Addy!

The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! Part VII
It is a very easy title to get the other way round indeed! That is a 6Music find (shock horror etc.) the haunting and chilled vibes really creep up on you. Not a bad performance so far considering the complete non-reaction on Synctube (for the second contest in a row -_-). Some great entries here, Scorn my favourite revealed thus far <3
