  1. I do really like Try Again, but Oh My God is a classic from the landfill indie era which I have fond memories of.
  2. Best Adele - Rolling In The Deep JAY-Z - Empire State Of Mind (feat. Alicia Keys) Katy Perry - Teenage Dream Lady Gaga - Born This Way Owl City - Fireflies Worst Beyoncé - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) Rihanna - S&M Remix (feat. Britney Spears) Usher - OMG (feat. will.i.am) I've got a nostalgic soft spot for most of these, but that S&M remix was particularly woeful

Except she's not innocent, you may be utterly convinced she is based on evidence not proven in a court of law, but legally at this point in time, she is not. And her conviction wasn't the end of it - the lack of response to concerns raised about her is indicative of manslaughter, the families deserve to know this and those shameful figures brought to light.
  4. I heard The Person You'd Like to Be on the radio this morning and, to steal the DJ's words, it's like a more ominous of Baz Luhrrman's Everybodys Free. I've enjoyed what I know of him, but this instantly stood out as something special.
  5. Sounds a bit more of a chilled, R'n'B style than usual for them, I like it on first listen, got a great vibe and I can definitely see it being a grower, love the constant switches in production.
  6. Best Coldplay - Viva La Vida Daniel Powter - Bad Day Justin Timberlake - SexyBack (feat. Timbaland) Nelly Furtado - Say It Right Shakira - Hips Don't Lie (feat. Wyclef Jean) Worst Chris Brown - Kiss Kiss (feat. T-Pain) Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls Taylor Hicks - Do I Make You Proud
  7. B.o.B - Airplanes (feat. Hayley Williams) Kanye West - Heartless Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
  8. That Natasha Bedingfield ATROCITY can get in the bin, one of the most embarassing songs I've ever heard x
  9. I don't love this immediately, the chorus doesn't quite hit as hard as it could, but it is an impressively adventurous entry from us and a nice break from the boring Radio 2 fodder we normally go for (including last year hoping for an established artist to cancel that out). As always, hard to tell how well it will do, but some promotion, a memorable, striking yet also endearing staging (again we didn't get this right last year) and good vocals on the night, then I'd hope this will at least capture more of the juries attention.
  10. Congrats Klumzee on the long-awaited win! Smashing my record if I ever did hold it but doesn't it feel good, just need poor Seyetana to win now x I voted for all the top 5, one of which was my silver medal, so I'm very pleased with that top 10, and good to see my 18 made the top 20, that slow build was everything x I would've liked Singerpurear a bit higher though, my favourite entry from them in a long time. I will take 21st considering it was looking like lower at one point, the mention of top 10 in Predictions did get my hopes up but looking at the semi results, I was on the lucky side this time so that's a relief! Thanks for all who voted, have a bit of a banger lined up next so hopefully can follow up this minor success x Thanks for hosting Cody and echoing the great job at navigating our brave new (Buzzjack) world x
  11. Grr, I should really not look at the predictions thread x (but grateful for the votes so far ofc.) Both of that top 2 would be great winners and long awaited first wins at that!
  12. The Substance being below Madame Web makes me die a little inside x Great result for that one though, it's a shame Demi didn't get her long-awaited Oscar but the fact a film like that was in serious awards contention is still wonderful. Heretic was a real surprise, but Hugh Grant was just a bit too convincing and I really loved the psychological route it went down with it's scares.
  13. Wow, 2 18s and only low points otherwise, but I'm very grateful for that! Bronzil would be a wonderful winner if it were to hold.
  14. That's a way to get off 0 *.
  15. Oh no, my stance against cheap entries is weakened by an uncredited vocal xx (Hype to my favourites and me x)
  16. Glorious to win. Quite surprised Jerk It Out made it this far, but it's a great throwback and raises a chuckle.

I did feel the narrative was going Anora's way so I sensed Best Picture coming, but didn't quite see a nearly clean sweep of the big five coming! I'm very glad as it was certainly up there with my favourites this year, must be a while since the Palme D'or and Oscars were in sync x I'm gutted for Demi, but that film getting recognition at all was quite something especially with the aforementioned bias against horror films and it was a pretty close run contest. I've got to say I'm also gutted for Fernanda Torres, I just saw I'm Still Here this weekend she was absolutely phenomenal, such a wonderfully subtle and realistic performance for someone who could've been easily been portrayed in an over-the-top way. I'm pleased it won International Film at least. Emilia Perez getting nothing would've been quite a moment, but I guess they couldn't quite justify it x I don't actually have an issue with Zoe Saldana getting the award and the song's not amazing but hardly the film's worst offence... Not gutted at a Complete Unknown get nothing, so bored with formulaic music biopics. I still need to see Flow, irritating how late we're getting it here x
  18. Excellent winner, congrats Dan! That's a great looking top 10 and almost all of the top 5 were in my votes (and I did enjoy Oklou too even though I left it out, do need to get round to that album) Very pleased to get a second top 10 on the trot, I wasn't sure if this would be too downbeat but I'm really pleased so many of you were swept away in the dreamy landscape like me ☁️ Just a shame that Museless didn't do as well from my votes. This was a great contest both quality wise and to bring attention to a sadly underrepresented demographic in dance music, thanks for hosting it so well, Kath!
  19. Darn, Weather With You is one of my go-to uplifting songs, not the best round for my big favourites </3 However, that's a very solid set of qualifiers with a fair few I love.
  20. Oh wow, my 10 and 12 back to back! Fab entries there (and thank you for the 12 from Dr B *.)
  21. These last few votes have been a bit more promising, thank you <3 I was fortunate to have two female producers - Merely and Malibu, recommended to me recently. Their chillout mixtape is on YouTube and is a lovely listen if you're into that dreamy, ambient sound x I previously knew Merely through her BJSC song, Backdraft. Hoping to see some more love for my top 2 x
  22. Kneecap was a really great film, I was hoping it would get more awards attention but still an impressive feat for a relatively unknown act in a very niche genre. Anora obviously I'm hoping can have a great Oscars night, it does feel a lot more accessible than a lot of Palme D'or winners so I'm not surprised to see it do fairly well. Terrifier 3 is gory, unabashed fun and it's great to see independent cinema do so well, even if I did prefer Part 2.
  23. Best 50 Cent - In Da Club Beyoncé - Crazy In Love (feat. JAY-Z) Eminem - Lose Yourself OutKast - Hey Ya! Sean Paul - Get Busy Worst D4L - Laffy Taffy Juvenile - Slow Motion (feat. Soulja Slim) Nelly - Grillz (feat. Paul Wall and Ali & Gipp) I've forgotten those American Idol winner songs already x
  24. Where Is The Love is Roberta Flack's other listed song on Acclaimed Music so maybe that one given we've had the other two? Fall Out Boy - This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race Gnarls Barkley - Crazy Timbaland pts. OneRepublic - Apologize
  25. Oh no, I lost my 25 </3 I adore Hoppipolla and wouldn't normally approve of it being touched at all, but this really works as a reinvention, and still rnetaining a lot of the emotion that made the original stand out presented in a different way.
