Thank you Castiel! What amazing compliments and encouragement you have blessed me with today! That type of caring energy is so very appreciated by all of us struggling artists these days - so thank you. We all need a pat on the back now and then - and honest feedback ROCKS! And yes, I agree completely with what you are saying. I went very far ambient-wise with this album, let it drift off and sail itself maybe a little too much in retrospect. I try not to question it, but looking back it could be that I needed that meditation myself at the time that we were recording - as I was a new mom to a baby boy - my first child! - and my life had suddenly come to a screeching halt - from very hard times and struggle to profound change - happily, to a place of miraculous blessings. Also, pure exhaustion. As a new Mom, I was seeking stillness and prayer - but in deep gratitude. A little like being frozen in a block of solid love... For my second project with this sound (third including the Christmas album "Star Is Born" on Gemini Sun Records) I'm reeling it back in to the basics - letting things thaw a little - trusting my gut more and surrendering to my passion for pure melody and just strong, focused song writing. You are like a mind reader! As I record and sing this one, I'm flying with confidence one minute and trembling with insecurities the next - and that lets me know that it's real. Interestingly enough, I'm realizing that it takes more musical confidence for me to be just naked with my recordings now - sing from my heart so to speak - especially now that I have found such a smooth and calming voice that even I am easily seduced by;) - and this might not make sense LOL but just know that I so appreciate your encouragement as my aim is for personal truth that reflects my genuine journey - and you will understand when you listen - I hope. Save The World in it's original version might be surprising to most - as piano/vocal - so different from the final product - but not in spirit. I also plan on releasing a few of these raw tracks just to give listeners a peek of the underbelly. Discovering this Cadence sound, was like slowly climbing for a lifetime and reaching the top of a giant mountain of technological achievements, and being so stunned by the beautiful view that we were often left speechless. And it was so mind boggling sometimes, the endless possibilities, that we found ourselves falling into an altered state - slaves to experimentation alone - like a new super drug for an addict in withdrawal - but a healthy one! Hard to explain!!! But the good news is that my next CD is nearly finished - another couple of months at the most - and then packaging, mastering, promotion and blah blah - but I'm so excited about it I can hardly sleep in between recording sessions!!! So....AGH!! Writing here helps:) Praying for patience and perseverance!! Thank you again for caring and taking time to be a part of the dialogue - you are an angel without a doubt. Hey Girls! HOT photo! Can I hear your music? Thanks for the compliment on "My Man" - took some risks there :))) Just want to thank all of you again for including me in this forum. I am honored!! Enya is in a league of her own - period. I have great news - my music is being played on HOT AC (mainstream radio) on over 20 radio stations now in the US -many told me this would NEVER happen :P - happy I didn't listen - LOL - and "Save The World" is also continuing to chart on the NAR World Radio Charts - 8 months in a row now! - so PINCH ME - I am feeling so very blessed! Thanks again and again for the feedback u guys - all of it! Praying daily for inspiration and peace and sending love to all of you brave and beautiful artists!! Debut Xmas CD 2007 was called "Star Is Born" and was named, packaged and released by Gemini Sun records and my name got left off of a lot of listings even though I sang 100% and wrote and produced almost all of it:( 1st record deal so made lotsa mistakes. Music is, I believe, unique but traditional. Regarding the loss of control...long story...NEW at this=I U guys weren't helping me then! Would love feedback on that CD though (Xmas) - even in Summer - whenever!:)) Last night gigging as a giant "grape" and sometimes even a "princess" at local festival w/ 3K people - under my alter ego "Miss Jenny Sings". 1 woman show - kiddie rock - w/ electric guitar, keys and vocal harmonizers. Truly, I will agree. I don't think my first CD is anywhere near as good as Enya's music in any way. I meant to convey that. Hoping that one of my next CD's gets a little better in quality and in spirit, but it will never ever be as good - impossible!! I think people are just trying to categorize the music. Enya is the true original! She cleared a path for all of us in every genre. I hope to perform soon and show you that I am completely different. I play piano and guitar and I sing live improv leads - so stay tuned, K? I remember teaching a dance/meditation class to her music in the early 90's. We were all stunned and moved by the music!! It is like musical prayers to me. By "Beautiful Earthlings" it was just a one time play on words. I love words and I love people. Sorry if it was misread. HI everyone this is Cadence Spalding. To be reviewed is an honor. I too love Enya, but I also love many styles of music. It is a personal shock to have been compared to the amazing Enya in many of my reviews, but know that I am my own artist and my music is truly my own vision. I have enjoyed singing in choirs and I have an obsession with piano, guitar, and composing, but mostly with vocal harmony. I play all the instruments on my debut CD "Save The World" and wrote or cowrote all of the music. I so appreciate all of your comments, good and well...not so good;), but truly, I thank you all for listening and for writing:) I hope that the message of peace, and quality of the music production is why this is even happening, as the production is intense and complex as it is made with the layering of of thousands of vocal layers per CD. I owe the quality of this new sound to platinum sound designer/recording artist Mars Lasar. We both are feeling blessed as the title track on "Save The World" is finding it's way onto AC and Top 40 radio and we are grateful and motivated to keep it all going. Also, I look forward to performing live as Cadence Spalding which will be soon. I am sneaking into small towns to test the sound on stage and it has been mind blowing. Currently we are finishing touches on the next CD and hope to have a special Christmas release as well. (To the author: Thank you for listening and for a really cool forum! FYI this CD was released in 2009 (not 2008) and is still charting, 6 months now, on the NAR World Radio Charts) Please know that I am so grateful to Enya for this: raising the standards of music in general and for acquiring such a sophisticated and loyal following.
