  1. LookyLion is of course Loeki de Leeuw (Looky the Lion)
  2. Thank you for voting Lady Balckbird into the final!!
  3. My votes are in - like stated by Addy above, SF1 is quite diverse, and I enjoyed most of it.
  4. I was in London last week, and in HMV on Oxford Street, I noticed an intriguing album cover: Lady Blackbird's new album, Slang Spirituals. It intrigued me so much, I decided to have a listen, and I was blown away instantly. Lady Blackbird is American singer Marley Munroe, who released her debut album Black Acid Soul in 2021, to critical acclaim. She has since worked with Moby and Trevor Horn, and is currently touring with Moby. My entry for 168 is the final song on the new album. When I heard it for the first time, it was like she was singing directly at me, about me. She took me back to all kinds of places, good and bad. Maybe it's not the most competitive of my entries, but certainly one of the most personal ones.
  5. An 8-minute soul song is not usually my style here, but I am obsessed with Lady Blackbird since I heard her new album earlier this week
  6. It's going great!! Love this concept :cheer:

Ouch, 26th... I had hoped Aziya's crush would have more appeal... Interestingly, she beat Pixey's Bring back The Beat, my entry in the most recent Popjustice Song Contest - where it got the bronze medal.
  8. Thank you!! So happy that Aziya qualified, thanks to all the voters! :cheer:
  9. That sounds … promising, Brer!
  10. For round 167, an artist from London, I discovered a few months ago. This is one of her recent releases, with hints of The Cure - fingers crossed Aziya will do well!

LookyLion going for something less ABBAesque or Disco this round... fingers crossed!
  12. After not qualifying in round 165 with lovely Dutch band The Indien, LookyLion was back in the final - and the top 10 - with Debbii Dawson! Both songs are among my favorite songs of 2024, I recommend checking out the album and EP by both acts.
  13. I wonder who will get it next round....
  14. Oh, Debbii won the semi, that is really nice!
  15. Oh we were not done yet, oops!
  16. Well done to the medalists! Thank you to the people that voted for Debbie Dawson, and huge thanks to our host!
  17. Just sent in the Lookylion votes - it is a good round! Well done everybody
  18. Thank you, voters for Debbii!! So pleased to be back in the grand final after missing out last round!
  19. Thank you, voters for Debbii!! So pleased to be back in the grand final after missing out last round!
  20. That means you've not yet listened to the current PJSC hehehe ^_^
  21. I was considering two entries for this round, and both have appeared! Well done, other country...!!
  22. Oh, girli made the top 10!? Great! I had not been in the grand final since round 160, so a top 10 is such a pleasant surprise.... My previous top 10 was winning round 153, so I'm glad to be back! Thanks to the voters for girli, and congratulations to the medalists!

    Did you receive mine?
  24. Unfortunately, Candian singer Betta Lemme's latest banger did not manage to impress a lot of you, so it did not qualify. Robbed! So here's to round 164! Hopefully girli's latest banger Crush Me Up will have more appeal. girli is from London, and has released quite a lot of singles since her debut in 2015. Crush Me up is the latest single from her new album Matriarchy, which is released on May 17th.
