  1. I haven't been on BJ for ages but thought I would post the comments made by Sir Tim Rice when Joe sang at Durham Cathedral yesterday evening. It was a charity carol concert in aid of SAFC Foundation and was in the presence of the Countess of Wessex. A lot of people from the North-East were on the bill, such as Rick Wakeman, Barbara Dickson, and Sir Thomas Allen (Chancellor of Durham University and notable opera singer). Joe appears to have been the star of the show according to TV and press reports. He sang When a Child Is Born, In the Bleak Midwinter, and A Winter's Tale for which Sir Tim wrote another verse for Joe to sing. Sir Tim was in the audience at the Festival Hall when I was there recently at Joe's concert. He applauded enthusiastically - with a standing ovation!

I said I wouldn't post on here again but you are really getting nasty now. Did you not realise that the QVC thing was for charity? Over £450,000 was raised in three hours and Joe himself raised £6,350 to sing in someone's living room. I remember back in the day when Will did EXACTLY the same thing for Children in Need! I bet you all tried your best to get him into your living room.
  3. Any news of the album chart from 11 to 20?
  4. Don't know what this means! If you hate Matt why is he in your signature?
  5. I see this thread is still being used as a punch bag! Oricon, the whole point of being a fan is to try and defend your chosen one from unfair criticism. For instance, I could say your signature is over the top and pointless but if you want to have two pictures of the same people so be it! Torresgirl is just pointing out that Joe is a funny and delightful young man with a stupendous voice. And Regina (which is the latin for queen by the way) is defending his chosen singers - not quite sure who any of them are apart from Matt. I like Joe, and Will Young and several other singers.

You are quite right. She tweeted that people should not buy the Decca one as she is with Warner Music and Daydream is brand new material.
  7. What has happened to this thread? :o All the negativity is unnecessary. Joe has produced an album which people wanted to buy, that is why is it still in the top ten of the album chart after six weeks. There is no need to mention Olly, or any other of the X-Factor alumni. And definitely no need to be so disparaging to other forum members. By the way, it is not necessary to have a No.1 single to be successful in the music business. At the moment Joe is doing the best thing - singing at various private and corporate gigs as well as preparing for his 17 date tour in November.

The general consensus is that it is a good thing but with some reservations. Somebody suggested it should be released with a DVD of the tour! Now THAT would be interesting - and excellent! :D

No it's not. It is more likely Thursday or Friday.

This is the theory why Joe's sales change during the week. Most of the sales are from physicals, not downloads. This is because the album appeals to an older audience. These people (such as me) don't buy from the Internet but usually pick up an album or two with their weekly shopping which they do on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Does that make sense to you? Actually I bought my copy from Amazon and got it in the first week and then a second copy for my sister in the second week which I downloaded. So I am the exception to the above rule.

    I don't have one!

Yes this has happened in my case. Hope he changes back or to something else (not rap or hip hop!)

I thought he was poor, especially the first clip at Oxjam. Very weak singing! Perhaps he is better in a bigger venue - an Oxfam shop is hardly rock 'n' roll is it?

Joe certainly does well with the physicals. Up seven places from yesterday is brilliant!

At least Shayne has moved on. He is starring in Rock of Ages which has had great reviews so far. I have seen a couple of clips of it.
  16. Which, unfortunately, I do not like! :( Very disappointing for me as I have all his albums and singles and have been to many gigs over the past ten years. So that's why I don't like it! I am a "nan"!
  17. I have just read all through this thread and it makes me smile to read the various theories put forward. In the event it was Will #1, Joe #2 and then it was up and down for them both (excuse the double entendre! ). At the moment it is Joe who is still at No.5 which is fantastic.

However since he said that (before PSTOS) he has embraced the whole concept of classical music. In his first video clip for the programme he only knew one classical/opera "song" - Nessun Dorma! Now he is prepared to give lots of different classical arias and songs a go and says that he is willing to sing both genres. He will, however, need to keep up the singing lessons. He actually said he likes singing both types of music only yesterday on The Late Late Show on RTE!

Will has done well to stay in the top ten with three new entries above him! I see 1D has gone down a place. :D

This is because there is less than 60% of the songs on there which are purely classical: Canto della Terra Time To Say Goodbye Il Mio Cuore Va Va Pensiero Nessun Dorma It is a shame but Joe's fans have accepted this.
  21. Well done Joe for being at No.3 in today's chart! Onwards and upwards! :D
  22. Joe did speak up but privately to the Syco management. That is why they parted company with no acrimony (so I gather).
  23. I have a strong feeling that Universal/Decca will be helping Joe bring out an album which is not completely "covers". Unless they have been pulling the wool over Joe's eyes, I understand he is going into the studio again in the New Year to record his third album. I don't mind a few covers - they are obviously more recognisable and act as a hook. By the way Alex, who are you talking about in your first paragraph? It could be anyone who has had those things you mention. And not everyone wants, or needs, to have an arena tour. I know I much preferred Will's theatre tour that he did back in the day. The arena tours are too big for my likeing. The best time seeing Will was at Ronnie Scott's. I fully expect the hype to die down - it is inevitable. But Joe's album will stay in the charts for a while as he has a tour lined up for November, which then follows on to Christmas. More sales!
  24. That was quite a task you set yourself Bre! Well done - it is interesting to read, particularly the bottom half of the lists.

What a great post - I entirely agree with you. Pity Robbie went back to his other style after SWYW!
