  1. Wow. I did not even know they were dating. But ROTFL @ that. She must like it that way - I'm a very private person and couldn't be dealing with people wanting pictures & autographs all the time.

  3. Those 360 deals are awful for an artist. It means everyone gets a cut from everything from album & single sales to merchandise to whatever else. I mean, unless you are selling a substantial amount, you won't really see much. Artists only really make a lot of money from their tours nowadays.
  4. Charley Uchea (Big Brother star & enemy to Chanelle) recorded a retaliation track. It's called "I Want It More" and it's hilarious. I don't think that mess was released.
  5. Oh, I didn't see Christina. Yeah, she's second with Gaga third.
  6. The majority of people on that list are not strong vocalists. As far as vocals go, technically, it's Beyoncé. That Gaga girl is second.
  7. I didn't say they should? But record labels are there to make a profit, and nowadays if you release one flop album chances are your ass is getting dropped. Especially when you're someone like Kate Nash. The numbers speak for themself, sadly.
  8. Emma Roberts is the girl who plays the guitar in that Nickelodeon show? Wow. I did not know she and Julia were related.
  9. Either collaborate or make music that's current (like Kelly Rowland and Kelis) if you want mainstream success. I'm telling you, I can hear the label execs getting ready to drop Kate Nash as I type.
  10. I remember that. I remember this boy asking why she doesn't write deep lyrics like her main influence Regina Spektor, and Kate said it was because she can't write them. She tried and they turned out awful. So she sticks to writing really simple ones because she believes that's what she's best at. Kate has a lot to learn. I watched a performance last night and she was screaming throughout. Now she's a good performer and her stage presence is good, but I do not want to listen to her scream like a banshee throughout songs. That's just really off-putting, lol.
  11. I thought the same thing. But with artists like Ms Nash, they don't really care about collaborating with successful, popular artists. And singer/songwriters tend to not really want anyone else on board with their own work. Especially writing (which I think Kate should think about, because it could benefit & inspire her perhaps. Not that her lyrics are awful, they're just simple). Dance/pop/hip hop music is really popular at the minute. Kate's album is more 60s girl group meets indie/folk. It never stood a chance. Not this year, anyway.
  12. Who the f*** keeps letting her in the studio?!
  13. This type of music is not what is popular at the minute, so whatever Kate released it wouldn't make a difference. It doesn't help when her album doesn't really have that mainstream appeal, either. The sales maybe disappointing, but she shouldn't be upset. It's not entirely her fault. That's just how the industry is. I think I said this already, but I doubt she cares anyway. She's always said she wasn't looking to be a mainstream artist and the popularity & success of "Foundations" was accidental and surprising. She just strikes me as being an artist that cares more about making an honest record and touring/playing festivals - anything else is an added bonus. Obviously from a labels perspective, her low sales raises a few issues. But whatever happens, she'll still make & release a third album. I think an indie label would be best for her after this.
  14. Nice artwork. Nice song, but yeah - it's a flop. The album is pretty good, too - I love "Paris", "Don't You Want To Share the Guilt", "Do-Wah-Doo", "Early Christmas Present" (!!!), "Later On" and "Pickpocket". The video is boring. She looks like she's having fun though. And a little drunk (might explain why she agreed to dress in that blue outfit).
  15. Three performances for "Do-Wah-Doo" was bad. I always get the feeling she doesn't care anyway. She seems happy just releasing music & playing those festivals and doing her own tour and stuff.
  16. I like this song. It's catchy and she sounds nice.
  17. Martin. posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
The single/album was never going to be released in March. She wanted everything completed by then, but a lot of people don't know she's doing this all herself - she's the one who's chasing producers personally (making friends with top producers, flying out to meet them & record, etc) aswell as having two kiddies to raise and all that trouble with Darren. If she was signed, it'd have been easier. But she wanted to have full creative control - something she didn't have on her last record. And she worked with the producer that did some tracks on Usher's new record aswell as others who have worked with Beyoncé & Lady Gaga. I'm excited and confident. Jamelia taking this long has worked out well.
  18. Also, the reason things have taken ages is because she's doing it all independently (making the album, I mean. Not releasing it).
  19. Has anyone seen that new photoshoot with that new weave? http://www.stylebirmingham.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Shoot-1-21-834x1023.jpg ^ That's just one picture. I like it. Her new single should be dropping in a few months along with the album, and if all goes to plan she should definetley be back on top by 2011. :)
  20. I get the feeling Neve only came back for two reasons. The first being money, and the second being she wants to let go of Sydney once and for good. She's never really been interested in coming back, so I can see her agreeing to reprise her role on the condition that they have Sydney die at some point.
  21. Did Xenomania produce the whole album? I know they did this one and the single. And yeah, I agree. I actually liked this girl band. They could sing and play their stuff live. Their label was crap though.
  22. Really? I think this is one of their best. I love "Closer To Me", "All I Ever Do" and "Complicated". A few more but I can't remember them.
  23. -2Zhsl4MLSw Anyone remember these? They had that 'Totally Frank' show on T4 (which I LOVED!) and supported Girls Aloud on one of their tours. The song above is brilliant! Shame the label decided against releasing it.
  24. I like it too. It's a shame it hasn't done as well as her debut, but it was never going to - especially with the type of music that's on there. I really love "Early Christmas Present". Particularly everything after "'Cause if you run into the eye of the storm". the background vocals and harmonies are nice.
