  1. Embarrasing herself by releasing singles? Riiiight. Anyway, I think this will flop despite how good it is. Oh well.
  2. Kate shot the video to "Kiss That Grrrl" a few days ago. BBj642B6ItA
  3. Sorry, I didn't mean to repost. My own fault for not checking. Anyway, I think Mutya will lose this. But it'll be interesting to see what does happen. Maybe Mutya has a few tricks up her sleeve.
  4. Ooh, I ordered that last week. I can't wait to get it - it looks fantastic and has been getting excellent reviews. You can tell how much all of them care about the franchise - particularly Heather, Wes and Robert. I think I'm getting a signed poster with mine, too. *Crosses fingers*
  5. Saw this. It was pretty bad. Especially the script - it's like the writers just watched the whole franchise and picked lines out of them and threw 'em in this film. The CGI was pointless and further proved doing it yoursef works best. Acting was pants. Although, Jackie and that Kyle Gallner dude were alright. The pacing of the film was wayyyy too quick, too.
  6. Shame she didn't predict the flop of the year.
  7. WTF @ that airbrushing.
  8. I'm really glad Wes is on board for this.
  9. I've heard it's pretty crap. Shame. In other news - there's a new DVD coming out called 'Never Sleep Again' which features 8 hours worth of footage from almost all the actors from 1 - 7 and 'FVJ' aswell as other stuff like the making of the original. Heather Langenkamp (Nancy Thompson, 'Nightmare 1') narrated and executive produced it. It looks brilliant AND the cover art pays homage to the original art. http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/photosizer/upload/hiresneversleep2040610.jpg

I haven't watched these films since the third. It all got too ridiculous for me.
  11. I actually like "Shape". "Follow Me Home" and "Walk This Way" were awful.
  12. A break will benefit them. Clearly people aren't interested in them at this point. Take a few months off doing nothing, and then go into the studio writing & recording the album ready for a 2011 release in the summer. That's the best thing to do, IMO.

I remember when they used to be headliners. Now they are a supporting act? Wow. Anyway, I'm not going. But have fun!
  14. Top 10? That's good then. I'm glad. I really do love this album. If you compare the lyrics to songs like "Skeleton Song" and "Mouthwash", you can see the improvement. And her vocals are more improved, too. She's less nasal. I really think it's just the sound for you guys. Everyone who's listened to 'Made of Bricks' and 'My Best Friend...' can see it's a completley different sound. 'Made...' was more of a indie-pop sound whereas her latest effort is more indie/punk and pays tribute to the 60s girl group era with a bit of folk music sprinkled on top. But I'm pleased for her. This will be nice. Should be number one, of course, but top 10 is nice.
  15. Do we have a midweek for the album yet? I want to know how badly this is going to flop ... :(
  16. Those are what I'd consider as singles. I'm not sure about "Kiss That Grrrl" though because it's another 60s girl groupy type track and we've just had that. Hmm...it's tough because it's not really a commercial album. "Guilt" would give her some credibility. And I like "I've Got A Secret", haha. "I've got a secret I can't tell you. You would juuuuuudge".
  17. Because there aren't any good ones about anymore.
  18. I can't get into that song. The spoken word part is good, but it's not something I can listen to on repeat and certainly not something I can blast from my speakers, lol. She said she tried writing clever/complex songs but she "just can't", so she sticks with writing really simple songs as she believes she's good at that. I think I'm the same. I listen to Regina's material and I think "wow, how does she come up with this stuff?". It's really hard to write a decent song (or for me it is, at least, lol). But you know, I think if Kate opened up more and worked with more experienced songwriters for her next album, she'd learn so much and would probably be able to improve. She said she's scared of working with other writers though because she doesn't want influence on what she's writing about. It is scary, but it pays off.
  19. I've been listening to it non-stop. My favourites at this moment are: - Paris - Kiss That Grrrl (future single?!) - Don't You Want To Share The Guilt (probably the best song of her career) - Do-Wah-Doo - Take Me To A Higher Plane - Early Christmas Present - You Were So Far Away (reminds me of something Kimya Dawson would do) I think this easily tops her debut for me.
  20. My scrapbook arrived today. It's pretty cool. Contains letters/poems from her friends & family, a little message from Kate explaining the album, a poster of the album art containing her lyrics on the back, drawings, costume designs, candid pictures of Kate in the studio and stuff, professional pictures of Kate, scanned paper copies of her lyrics & poems, etc aswell as a copy of the album and a bonus DVD which documents the making of her album. All in all, I'm pleased. Whatever people think about her & her music, you can tell she really cares about what she does. She designed the artwork for the album and made this scrapbook possible for us. She's really 'hands on' and you have to respect that.
  21. It would be the smartest decision they've all made this era.
  22. Well, the original was made on a small budget but was executed brilliantly. There was no CGI back then, so you had to do the special effects yourself. Bob Shaye & Wes Craven worked really hard to get financing for the film. There were even times when they thought they wouldn't be able to pay the cast at the end of the month. It was a tough shoot. That scene was alright. I don't know how I feel about Rooney Mara yet. I just feel like some of the CGI effects in this film aren't really that necessary and in some cases don't even work half as good as the original's effects used.
  23. She has a smart team behind her, because the smart thing was to keep quiet about what happened. That's where the ladies went wrong.
