  1. I liked their first record - particularly the first half. Unfortunetley, I haven't been able to get into this new record. I'm sure that's an error on my part though, so I'm going to have to sit down and give it a really good listen to.

I didn't download it, but I'm sure it's on YouTube by now in HQ.

^ I agree. I can actually picture a 'Are You the Next Sugababe?' type of show.
  4. Even if she wanted to, she probably couldn't. She was on a schedule and maybe her band didn't practice it. She said from the jump that this is a show to premiere her new material so fans shouldn't expect much from the first record. But for what it's worth, I agree that she should have included it in her setlist. But from what I've read, this new record is going to sound different from the first so she's probably trying to break away from it. Or perhaps she really is just sick & tired of playing it. Ms Nash was touring extensively through 2007/8 and played it a whole lot. Let me know how it goes when you attend. Maybe she'll include it then.
  5. "Shifting the album quite a bit" would mean he'd need to get 100,000 sales for them. I can't see it happening. And there have been times where the biggest of stars have brought in the heavy weights to help them out and it's backfired (Mya & Lil' Wayne, Nicole Scherzinger & TI, etc). And the fact we're relying on that idiot to bring in sales for the girls is embarrasing & awful.
  6. I don't think it's that. It was those four dates she put up where she wanted to premiere a lot of her new material. She still played some old stuff ("Mouthwash", "Merry Happy", "Birds") but it was a show to test the waters and I guess fans assumed she'd have performed her biggest hit, but she didn't. She's probably trying to break away from "Foundations" and it DOES get boring playing it all the time I'm sure. But the show was billed as one for her to premiere the new music, and that's what she did. Despite fans not happy that she didn't play the song, they still enjoyed the show + new stuff. :D
  7. Yeah. I mean, the sensible thing would to admit its' failure and move on.
  8. I'm jealous! Let me know how it goes. The fans wanted "Foundations" at one of her recent shows, and she said "I've done that one a million times. Go on YouTube".
  9. I think Regina Spektor is quickly on her way to being "up there" with female singer-songwriters like Kate Bush and Tori Amos. I can't think of one huge negative criticism to pin on her. She always delivers for me, in terms of lyrics. Her ambiguity, complexity and quirkiness is what I find brilliant. And vocally, she's great. I think she's kinda underrated in that respect. Anyone who can play piano, drum with a chair and sing all at the same time is cool in my book. Off-topic: She did a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" a few days ago and by Jove, it was so stunning.

This is tough. It's between "Run For Cover", "Red Dress" and "Angels..." for me. I'm going with "Red Dress".
  11. Not surprised by the fall. If they think "Miss Everything" is the song that's gonna get people buying the album, then they're idiots.
  12. I have a feeling this will get pulled from release.
  13. It's titled "Do Wah Doo". And thanks! I'm glad it's doing well then.
  14. I agree with you on that there were no real singles from 'Catfights & Spotlights'. It's a pretty good album, but that type of music isn't popular with the masses. It was a very mature sound for them. It's a solid album and the girls did everything they wanted to with it as far as the music went, so I'm happy with that.
  15. I know. But I mean, is it doing good on airplay, videoplay, etc?
  16. Maybe it's because I'm used to listening to real rappers like Lil' Kim, but Amelle sounds ridiculous.
  17. I had a feeling this would happen. Good luck to her.
  18. Amelle's rap is stupid.
  19. It is. I got an email with that cover in. I like it. How is this song doing?
  20. What is she playing at??? I haven't seen much promo for this. Why hasn't radio got behind it? Is the video even being played on TV? All I see from her is silly tweets. WAKE UP, SABRINA. THERE'S A SINGLE TO PROMOTE. Oh yeah - I saw a performance at G-A-Y where she came out dressed as a pink cat.
  21. They should release a different version. Maybe a remix or something. Everyone who's interested has heard the song one way or another. If they expect it to make a little noise, then releasing a different/remix version is their best bet. The song isn't even that strong.
  22. I can't see this being a huge hit, but all the best.
  23. I can't see this being a huge hit, but all the best.
  24. Good luck to the ladies.
  25. I've had the album for years via iTunes, but nothing beats having a physical copy. The artwork gives that album a little push. It is a strong album. Not hard to see why it wasn't a comercial success, but I get the feeling Ms Donaghy wasn't thinking about that. Good move. If we include every review the Sugababes (all line-ups) and Mutua received, Siobhan's will be right at the top. I liked the whole feel of the album. Siobhan really pulled out all the stops for it.
