  1. Damn. I need to go and purchase her album.
  2. Yeah. I'm just kidding. That album didn't sell because the music was bad. It gained her some of the best reviews in her life (comparison to Kate Bush = huge compliment). Her label just didn't have a clue how to promote an artist like her. But that aside, Sugababes shouldn't be going through this. There's no excuse from her team as to why they dropped the ball. They need shooting.
  3. Hell, 'GHOSTS' looks like a success - and Siobhan couldn't sell that even if she gave it away for free! Wow. I expected their album to do bad...but not this bad. Yikes.
  4. Jeez. That's only a few thousand sales at least?
  5. I'll have to check that out. I've seen some acoustic performances, but I think that's all. They were really good, though, and her vocals were flawless.
  6. True. We don't have many successful UK girl groups at the minute. I can only think of three - Girls Aloud, the ladies and The Saturdays. But if you look closely, they're all so similar at this point in terms of image and the quality of music. Girls Aloud had success with their last album, but they had great marketing and their songs were kind of catchy. The ladies were trying to keep up with an image that they didn't need to. If you look closely over the years, they went from stepping out in casual clothing, minimum make-up, etc during the first few albums and then it gradually picked up until they're at where they are now - wearing tight leather trousers, tight tops, full on make-up, big hair, etc doing choreographed dancing and making raunchy music videos. They don't need to do that - even this latest line-up because they DO have decent voices. At this point, they're just like any other girl group doing something that's been done a million times before. It's boring, unoriginal and tiring. They could still come back. The buying public is so fickle. They just need to try and tap into the earlier sounds of the Sugababes & what made THOSE line-ups stand out from the rest of the girl groups. Everything from the music to the image, sound and even song messages were fresh and different in the first three or four albums.
  7. This isn't surprising. It was too much of a risk for them.
  8. Oh wow. She's clever. I'm hearing all sorts in this. Whether she's singing this at all or if my mind is playing tricks on me due to listening so closely I don't know, but this is really interesting.
  9. Let me see if I can this wi-fi thing working. I'll try it now. Thanks for ball - I mean ALL your help.
  10. ^ Yup. It was just a huge mess. Even first time girl groups get better promotion & support. I forgot how "Miss Everything" goes, but I don't think it'd do much. I actually think anything they release now from the album won't enter the top 10. If they can manage to write a killer pop song that's instant and catchy, they'll be fine providing the rest of the material is to a good standard. I still think they have a shot. They just need guidance by a team that supports them...and they currently don't have that.
  11. Thank you! I didn't know there was a version where it's reversed back to its original form. Thanks. I'll check it out later. It really is a great & creative song.
  12. Does anyone know if there are full lyrics to this song? Half of it is backwards and I sound like an ass trying to sing it. The only part I can understand is "sworn under an oath to war" ...... and "...certainly familiar". I can't get the lyrics up on my iPhone yet, so I'd appreciate it if one of you kind people could post them for me. :) And does anyone know what it's about? Did she speak about it? I remember her saying she just jumbled words together, but I'm wondering if there's anything else she said. THANKS!
  13. That's "New Year", Mr Simon. I believe you would rather listen to nails on a chalk board than that song though, right? And yeah, "Caught..." is nice. The video was really classy if I'm remembering right.
  14. Thank you! Hmm...well, I don't think there's anything strong enough on this album to save it. There's no "About You Now" or "Push the Button" type of song - and that's what they need. Even if they had it, I think releasing it at this point would be too late. In all honesty, I really think they should forget about releasing "Crash & Burn" and just take a few months off. Let everything cool down. Let the public miss them and get used to them. Jade joining is still taking some getting used to by fans. I also think they should stop trying so hard to do a different sound - stick to what you're good at. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. There was a time when this group was known for setting trends, not following them. They didn't need a sexy image and raunchy music videos to sell their music. I'd have them take four months off (doing nothing but bond with eachother, chill out, do other things, etc) and then get them back in the studio working on the next album, ready to release next year. The label/management is as much to blame, too. The lack of concern about 'Sweet 7' leaking two months early is worrying. And the lack of promotion was just pathetic.
  15. The era was a disaster the day Keisha got sacked. Where I think they went wrong: - Keisha out on the Friday, Jade in on the Sunday and the video being shot on the Tuesday. They were asking too much from fans in such a short space of time. - Pushing the album back. Seeing as they were insistent on releasing "About A Girl", they should have released the record the following week to capitalise on the Christmas sales. - "Wear My Kiss". Not single material at all. Enough said. - Interviews regarding what happened with Keisha. Ladies - if you aren't going to tell us exactly what happened & why it happened, then keep your mouths shut. - Lack of promotion. It was just awful this go-round. - The album leaking two months early and not a single thing being done about it. Seriously - how do you expect to sell an album that people can get for free TWO months early?! - The music itself. It was too much of a change in musical direction for the girls, and they were asking too much of fans. I also believe, in my opinion, that it's a weak album. Very generic and doesn't really offer anything innovative or creative. - Performing old songs. I don't see the point of singing hits you didn't sing on when you're supposed to be promoting songs from your new album. It was also too soon to be doing performances of old songs. I don't have anything against them doing it, I just think they shoulda saved it for the tour. I'm sure there's more, but these stood out for me. The way I see it is they had two choices - 1) They could have scrapped 'Sweet 7' altogether and started working on new material. That way, the public would have had time to get used to everything aswell as the girls finding their own sound with a new vocalist in the group. Or 2) If they were adamant to release the album (which they were), then "About A Girl" should have been pushed back until February with the album's release following a week later.

No. They will record one more album and then that will be it.
  17. Well Ms Bextor is a lucky lady then. All the best to her.
  18. I remember when she first came out. She was exploding everywhere. Is her label a major label or indie?
  19. You locked away your secrets Kept them away from me I only came to say goodbye Now you finally see You wanna start all over again And make it work this time But I don't wanna end up feeling Far away from FIIII-IIINE Are there any live performances of this song? And what's that song where the video is black and white? "Caught In A Moment"? I really like that song, too.
  20. Let's make a move Let's leave this world behind I know you approve By the look in your eyes I love that song.
  21. This is their second consecutive flop, isn't it? The last album bombed. Shame, I actually liked that. "You On A Good Day" is my SONG!
  22. Has anyone seen the acoustic live performance? It's really good.
  23. Mutual & Keisha will reform with Heidi when hell freezes over.

I would love to see Siobhan boogying to "Push the Button". It would be priceless considering she isn't really a prissy girl who dances and does that kind of music.
  25. LOL @ "Thank You For The Flophate".
