  1. Doubt it. The album has seen THREE singles before its release aswell as seeing the album leak two months before-hand with no action being taken, awful/lazy promotion, scandal after scandal in the press causing a public backlash and just generally a lack of interest. There's nothing on this album that is a stand-out, amazing song that will guarantee sales. The best thing - at this point - would to just release it and then call it a day for 'Sweet 7'. Take a few months off before starting work on a new album.
  2. I would laugh if this ends up selling less than Siobhan Donaghy's 'Ghosts' album. Just... wow.
  3. Oh my goodness... That is awful.
  4. People were really thinking it would go top 10? All of my predictions have been right so far, and based on the sales & chart positions of the singles, it was obvious this album isn't going to do well. If it does somehow manage to get top 10, it'll be at the lower end. Either way, it's going to sink faster than Aretha Franklin in a swimming pool. The people to blame for this - their label and whoever else is in charge of getting them to promote & perform. I mean, seriously - the damn album leaked two months in advance and not a thing was done about it. Reviews have been awful, the singles haven't done well and on top of all that - they are STILL paying for Keisha being sacked. The best thing they could have done was scrap this entire album and start fresh. That way, people get time to adjust to the new member while the group get a chance to discover their sound and style.
  5. You're doing too much.
  6. Someone on DS posted it, and I came here to question it because it seemed awfully low.
  7. Am I getting this right - they've sold 5,000 copies so far for it to be at #11? Wooooooow.
  8. Aw, I'm disappointed for some of you. I'm tempted to just buy a track off iTunes to help cheer you all up a bit. :(
  9. It leaked two months ago? Wow. It doesn't seem that long ago. Yeah, the label definetley deserve a flop then.
  10. That isn't surprising. A flop would serves their label right. All those pushbacks, not doing anything when the album leaked four weeks early, lack of promo, etc have come back to bite them on the ass.

Lol, yeah. I mean, this is an exciting time for the girls & fans. I'm not taking that away. I just think there's too much emphasis on the chart position.

Obviously. However, my point was an album can debut at the top and still flop, so worrying about where it debuts is kinda pointless. You should be keeping an eye on it for the following three/four weeks. It could be a grower. The lack of promotion doesn't help, either.

Yeah. I don't see why people are getting in a mess over the chart performance. Sure, it'll be nice to have the album chart high. But the label care more about sales than they do chart positions. Janet Jackson's 'Discipline' debuted at number one and flopped hard, whereas Jamelia's (the only artist I can think of from the top of my head) 'Thank You' record debuted in the mid-30s and ended up being a multi-platinum seller churning out like six singles. If I cared enough, I'd be more concerned with how it sells than where it ends up in the charts.

I'm not buying it. I don't like it and think it's pretty awful. However, good luck to them. If they're happy with how it sounds, then good for them.

    I think it'll end up at #11.
  16. It'll be interesting to see how this is doing in four weeks time. All the best to the ladies.
  17. That's really nice of them. A lot of popstars would have you escorted out of the building. They seem to be really down to earth. All of them, actually. Well, I heard a few stories from friends who had met Keisha and they weren't impressed with her. But those three, Mutya and Siobhan all look approachable. I remember meeting Siobhan briefly about 10 months ago in London. She was really sweet, funny and had a nice aura about her. We spoke about 'Rent', her albums (at this point, I was talking really fast & told her where her label messed up. She agreed.) and a few other bits & bobs. I didn't want to ask about anything Sugababes related, but I was really tempted to ask about her exit. A very nice lady. We took a picture together on my old phone. Oh - and she is sooo beautiful in person. I'm sure that was the same when you met the ladies, too.
  18. You might be right. I turned it off afterwards, but Jade did cross my mind. LOL @ you singing her an alternate harmony. Very polite way of saying "your version sucks. Change it". What was it like meeting the ladies?
  19. LOL.
  20. You are an ass. "New Year" and "Run For Cover" did not flop. And just because YOU didn't like their album doesn't mean no one else should. And while the "1.0 loons" (NO ONE is a loon) are building that bridge, maybe you should build one yourself.
  21. Thank you! I mean, they maybe negative, but I criticise what they're doing wrong and offer my opinion on what I believe should have been done instead. And like the gentleman above said, I don't get involved in petty arguments with others. I just add my two cents & slide back out. No one can say this era went well. It was a disaster. There's still the album to go, but I really don't see that being a huge success either. You don't like that comment? Hit backspace and keep it moving. If you want positives, let's see - Amelle looks great, Jade's settling in well and Heidi...well, she seems sweet on the whole. Vocally, they're pretty good. I mean, they still sh*t on most UK girl groups.
  22. Oh, you're not a mod? Okay, you can definetley sit the hell down.
  23. A) I'll post what I like. This a public forum. I am well within my rights to post my opinion aslong as I'm respectful. There was nothing disrespectful in my statement, so for you to be offended is ludicrous. B) I suggest you read through my posts, because CLEARLY I haven't ONLY been posting negative things. There is nothing about "Wear My Kiss" that warrants positive posting (in my OPINION). The song obviously shouldn't have been made a single and the poor sales & the fact it's dropping like a lead balloon shows that. C) Furthermore, it IS sad that we're hoping it stays top 20 one more week considering the group blew the charts up with songs like "Push the Button" and "About You Now"! So yeah...you trying to call me out was stupid, considering I was being respectful, inoffensive and polite. Just because you didn't agree with what I wrote doesn't warrant a comment like that. I suggest you go and look in a few other topics, too. You'll see a damn site worse than my comment in there.
  24. I think it's awful we are hoping it stays another week in the top 20. I remember when their songs used to be big hits!
  25. Oh, and I think Heidi was a little off in the harmony @ the chorus.
