    Classics is a bit much... it'll only be classics in the Eurovision cycle of songs. Just like you can get R&B classics, dance classics etc. but they aren't like all-time classics are they? They're just more decent in their own circle. For me, 95% of Eurovision songs just sound like outdated ideas with a tacky gimmick - which is actually just about right...

    I have a feeling that all the hype for this is because it's really good CONSIDERING it's from Eurovision, but the chorus is a little bit DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM and a bit typical pop. It's definitely not a groundbreaking event like so many are being led to believe, and is a prime example of Buzzjack hyperbole. It's a good wee song though. ~persephone haz spoken~

     

    gooddelta, Liam and Jonjo have done an amazing job of getting it noticed around here however. They may love it as much as they claim but I feel like anything beyond that people are just trying too hard to keep up with THEIR levels of looning~ Had this not been a Eurovision track at all I think all of the others bar the big members who genuinely love it would've continued to listen to 'Starships' on repeat.

    it's not that your cover is BAD YU&&&I (you have got a LOT better gurl) but it's the fact that well ryan's was the best of the week in my opinion! it wasn't a dig at you it was just to highlight how damn low he scored him y'all.

    i think i just get quite touchy over campaigns like this, because i know that even if this was the most successful campaign of all-time and it did its job to well outwith expectation, there's still something else out there to tackle that's just as big; as well as horrific.

     

    that's why i think it's sometimes better to just survive in my own little ignorant bubble, because i just get overwhelmed by the sheer ruins the world has become.

    i hate campaigns like this because they make me feel so damn useless. it also probably doesn't help that i'm so cynical about matters like this because i have no faith in any government nor a small percentage of charities, and no faith in campaigns like this. on the flipside however this is one of the most widespread i've EVER seen and i'll happily contribute, even if it does fall through. it's already served its purpose to educate, but whether it will eliminate is a totally different issue...

    Sufjan Stevens has teamed up with singer-songwriter and longtime collaborator Rosie Thomas on a Record Store Day split 7" called Hit & Run Vol. 1. Here's one side of it, "Where Were You?", which is an updated version of the song "Where Was I" off Thomas' new full length With Love.

     

    The second side of the split is Stevens' response to Thomas, naturally titled "Here I Am!" Both cuts were recorded and mixed by Stevens, and will be available April 21.

    not touchy... I think you're one of the best entrants we have in this game (as I said last week - your winning cover was, IMO, the best winner we've had in months - and that's a hefty statement considering the quality we have in this game), but we all have off weeks.... and we all create covers that just don't click at times.... me more than most ;)

    Well tbf my cover this week was awful and I bloody knew it!

    The only 1 you got was off me. You say it as if you're gobsmacked abyone could dare to not give you high marks? I don't think anyone is above getting low marks. That's just the way it goes in this game.

    oh i just meant low marks in general, and i'm not bein snobby expecting my cover to get 10's either - but once i saw i got like 4/5 low marks how well are you gonna do? i was expecting to get a really low mark.
