Poor from Gerrard last night on ITV. Should have said "The most important thing is that we scored" Think he's forgetting that he's still a Liverpool player and should have kept the issue in house rather than call out Balotelli for being mischievous No idea why Henderson is even first choice on penalties with Balotelli on the pitch, who obviously has more experience and a very good record taking them Good result though. Scored a goal eventually and kept a clean sheet

  4. Hazard and De Gea are both 24. Do they even count as young players?
  5. We're in need of a striker and goalkeeper. Not sure we'll get either though to be honest Valdes would have been a good choice, but wages tend to usually be the sticking point for us Don't think bringing back Origi early is the right decision either. I'd rather he was left at Lille for the remainder of the season as I doubt he'd make a huge contribution here in the final few months and epecially for the fees being quoted

Wouldn't be a shock at all unfortunately. Really hope I am wrong

Would it be silly to suggest that Bournemouth should be favourites to win tonight?
  8. Have we not always had defensive issues under Rodgers though? I'm not convinced he knows how to set up a team defensively and once the goals dry up, that is a major flaw Klopp please for the amusement factor
  9. People say Rodgers should be given time, but he's had a good few months now to at least show that we're improving. Since August, I can probably only count 1 or 2 games where we have actually performed to a good standard I don't buy the media spin that the buys in the summer were poor either. We probably would have been better off going out and spending the money on a Di Maria or a Sanchez, but another manager would be getting more out of the players we currently have
  10. Any team would struggle losing Suarez to Barcelona and then Sturridge to injury. Then you have Balotelli, Lambert and Borini who haven't scored a league goal between them this season I don't think Rodgers has helped himself though. I think it's been quite clear all season that Balotelli has struggled to play as a lone striker and yet there's been little effort to provide him with support.. whether that is a 2nd striker or even playing Sterling up top Also thought it was a bit of a farce how Lovren in particular walked back into the team vs. Chelsea after Toure's performance vs. Real Madrid. So much for players playing for their place in the team I wouldn't consider sacking him at all though. I do still have faith and hope that things will improve once Sturridge is back. Luckily the teams we're competing with have been equally as bad, so we haven't lost too much ground just yet
  11. Roy Hodgson is a joke Got to applaud him though for the way he's managed to divert attention away from a poor performance vs. 10 man Estonia to Sterling/Sturridge and the club vs. country debate Great man management to put one of your most important and also youngest players under huge criticism because of something said in what should have been a private conversation Some of the views coming out of this from the public are ridiculous too. "Who cares if he's tired? Look at how much he's getting paid" Honestly he should probably be applauded for even mentioning it to Hodgson. He's intelligently thinking about the long term effects on his career.. Unless everyone wants another Michael Owen on their hands?
  12. England team to play San Marino tonight: Hart, Chambers, Cahill, Jagielka, Gibbs, Henderson, Wilshere, Milner, Sterling, Welbeck, Rooney

A bit late on this front, but to say the Liverpool/Middlesborough game was eventful would be an understatement Next round of fixtures: Tottenham vs Brighton Stoke City vs Southampton Bournemouth vs West Brom Shrewsbury vs Chelsea Liverpool vs Swansea MK Dons vs Sheffield United Manchester City vs Newcastle Fulham vs Derby
  14. So we can't defend, but luckily Man United, Spurs and Everton can't either
  15. England team to play Switzerland: Hart, Stones, Cahill, Jones, Baines, Delph, Henderson, Wilshere, Sterling, Rooney, Welbeck
  16. How do you decide on best positions though? People would say both Rooney and Sterling are best centrally But Sterling is currently outperforming Rooney, so surely that means you play Sterling there and then build the rest of the team around him? The diamond has worked well at Liverpool. Our game vs. Tottenham: Gerrard Henderson Allen Sterling Sturridge Balotelli Rooney to place Balotelli and Wilshere to replace Allen. The problem is that we don't really have a player to replace Gerrard. Henderson can do a job in that position, but personally I think he's being wasted playing so deep. I wouldn't trust Hodgson to get the best out of them regardless of system and personnel either Luckily one thing the FA are worried about is money, so they'll have to act soon if the attendances remain so low
  17. Hodgson suggesting that they may have to 'do a Norway' against Switzerland and sit deep. I'm sure we'll all look forward to that performance These quotes are starting to sound all too familiar. I remember the days when Northampton town were being referred to as 'formidable opposition' prior to their league cup visit to Anfield
  18. Almost impossible not to qualify. The group is ridiculously poor with the only other decent side being Switzerland. Top 2 go through and then even the 3rd side goes through to a play off round
  19. Awful performance and I expect that to continue as long as Hodgson continues to build the side around Rooney. No way should he be guaranteed a place in the side on current form, but unfortunately the captaincy means he will be No surprise that we looked more threatening once he'd gone off. I'd start Welbeck instead vs. Switzerland and play Sterling centrally where he's more influential
  20. Team to play Norway: Hart, Stones, Jones, Cahill, Baines, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Wilshere, Sterling, Rooney, Sturridge England's official twitter says it will be 4-4-2 Hope it's a decent enough match for you. Last time I went to Wembley was the awful 1-0 defeat to Germany in the freezing cold
  21. Falcao to Man United on a season long loan deal
  22. Qualifiers now approaching with the first match being an away tie vs. Switzerland Group E: England Switzerland Slovenia Estonia Lithuania San Marino England squad selected for friendly vs. Norway and the first qualifier: Goalkeepers: Joe Hart [Man City], Ben Forster [West Brom], Fraser Forster [southampton] Defenders: John Stones [Everton], Leighton Baines [Everton], Phil Jagielka [Everton], Gary Cahill [Chelsea], Phil Jones [Man United], Danny Rose [Tottenham], Calum Chambers [Arsenal] Midfielders: Jack Wilshere [Arsenal], Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain [Arsenal], Jordan Henderson [Liverpool], Raheem Sterling [Liverpool], Jack Colback [Newcastle], Fabian Delph [Aston Villa], James Milner [Man City], Andros Townsend [Tottenham] Forwards: Daniel Sturridge [Liverpool], Rickie Lambert [Liverpool], Wayne Rooney [Man United], Daniel Welbeck [Arsenal]
  23. Transfer deadline day! Don't expect us to sign anyone though. Interested in Victor Valdes, but he's a free agent so that deal wouldn't need to be done yet Lucas, Coates, Assaidi and Borini expected to leave
  24. I'm sure we'll see a meltdown or two from Liverpool fans if Remy does sign for Chelsea and has a good season Very talented, but still raw. At the start of last season, you would have found quite a few Liverpool fans that actually rated him higher than Sterling.. Sterling has obviously come on leaps and bounds since then though Interested to watch how he progresses. Thought Rodgers would have kept him around as a squad player, but going on loan will obviously be better for his development. Derby seemed to fight quite hard to sign him, so there must have been some guarantees of first team football

Yep happy with that. Great games ahead vs. Real Madrid plus 2 teams we should be finishing above
