  7. 15. LANA DEL REY No. of hits - 11 (2 Number Ones/10 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit Bag1gUxuU0g Lana has released 3 of my favourite albums of the decade which is something of an achievement (sorry Honeymoon). Her storytelling and mood-creating is flawless and yes her banger ratio is appalling but she always has me twirling around my bedroom. 14. CHERYL No. of hits - 10 (3 Number Ones/9 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 8F1q0Vn4u4g Classic case of great singles, awful albums. You know that every album campaign will start with an almighty bang and then fade into a whimper. 'Call My Name' remains my favourite and I am intrigued to see where she goes next. 13. BRITNEY SPEARS No. of hits - 9 (5 Number Ones/8 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit qzU9OrZlKb8 Oh Britney. Perhaps the owner of the best pure pop back catalogue, most of the time she now looks like she doesn't want to be there. She is still capable of bangers as her surprisingly good last album proved. Let's just forget about Britney Jean shall we? 12. BEYONCE No. of hits - 14 (4 Number Ones/12 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit p1JPKLa-Ofc All the Big Pop Girls are making their impact now. Successfully transforming from a major pop star into a critically acclaimed artist Beyonce has now achieved legendary status. Both her self-titled album and 'Lemonade' were astonishing triumphs - she may not have the chart-friendly bops anymore but the records are so much more interesting and powerful now. 11. TAYLOR SWIFT No. of hits - 11 (5 Number Ones/11 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit -CmadmM5cOk 'Red' was a major turning point in Taylor's career - who knew the quiet blonde Country girl had such life-altering bops. And then the incredible '1989' completed her transformation into a megastar. Obviously everything has got a little messy since there but the bops are still there for the most part.

  11. Into the top 20! 20. ARIANA GRANDE No. of hits - 8 (3 Number Ones/8 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 1ekZEVeXwek Ariana broke through with 2 marvellous albums - 'Dangerous Woman' really is a thrill ride from start to finish. Obviously the courage with which she dealt with that awful concert (which I attended and still struggle to get over) has elevated her and she has a great platform to do something wonderful with the next era. But 'Into You' - what a banger. 19. CHARLI XCX No. of hits - 9 (4 Number Ones/8 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit AOPMlIIg_38 In my eyes, Charli is one of our generation's best pop songwriters - she also has an essential pop voice - distinct, unique and full of character. I could murder her label from keeping all sorts of bops from us as she continues to struggle to get her third album out but at least we got this year's flawless mixtape 'Number 1 Angel'. 18. FLORENCE + THE MACHINE No. of hits - 12 (1 Number One/11 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit B9v8jLBrvug Florence is the new coming of Kate Bush, except with a more powerful voice and a faster tempo. All 3 of her albums are beautiful pieces of work, if sometimes a bit noisy, but she's carved her own unique place in the British music landscape. 17. DAVID GUETTA No. of hits - 13 (2 Number Ones/10 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit YVw7eJ0vGfM Does this man ever stop? I'm sure he's charted at least one single every year on my chart since 2008. His taste ratio isn't great as he's released a lot of stinkers but there doesn't seem to be any sign of him slowing down as 'Dirty Sexy Money' entered my chart this week. 16. JESSIE J No. of hits - 11 (9 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 0HDdjwpPM3Y Urgh.
  12. So glad to see SOPHIE just sneak in there!

  14. 10+ Clean Bandit (ft. Zara Larsson) - Symphony (FAVE) 9. Louisa Johnson - Best Behaviour 8. Kesha - Praying 7. Charlie Puth - Attention 6. Charli XCX - Boys 5. Little Mix (ft. Machine Gun Kelly) - No More Sad Songs 4. ALMA - Chasing Highs 3. Ed Sheeran - Shape Of You 2. Post Malone (ft. 21 Savage) - Rockstar 1. Yungen (ft. Yxng Bane) - Bestie
  15. 10+ Steps - Scared Of The Dark (FAVE) 9. Little Mix (ft. Stormzy) - Power 8. Avicii (ft. Rita Ora) - Lonely Together 7. CNCO & Little Mix - Reggaeton Lento 6. Jax Jones (ft. Demi Lovato) - No Promises 1. J Hus - Did You See
  16. 25. EXAMPLE No. of hits - 10 (3 Number Ones/7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit T9yGcKlYAiw Yeah he doesn't deserve this to be high but he is responsible for the soundtrack to many nights out during my time at university. Unfortunately the hits trailed off and he hasn't been seen for a couple of years now. 24. NICOLE SCHERZINGER No. of hits - 7 (3 Number Ones/6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit z4nKOzk8qbw Another surprising one, Nicole has everything it takes to be a megastar - except the actual material. 'Killer Love' is a decent pop album as the singles run proves but my god 'Big Fat Lie' was an utter disaster. 23. IGGY AZALEA No. of hits - 8 (3 Number Ones/8 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit _zR6ROjoOX0 Iggy had such a run of smashes that it looked like she would be a massive star. Unfortunately it all kind of fell apart as she proved to be somewhat problematic and her success disappeared in an instant. At least we'll always have 'Fancy'. 22. KATY B No. of hits - 10 (2 Number Ones/8 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit BOboa27SHDE Katy B emerged as a cool new British female and rode her way through different elements of dance music - garage, house, drum & bass etc. But she really turned it around with 2014's 'Crying For No Reason'. Her last "mixtape" was a flop but I've got my fingers crossed she can return soon. 21. KESHA No. of hits - 9 (1 Number One/7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit mXvmSaE0JXA Up until this year I had given up on Kesha ever releasing another album due to her legal troubles but thank god I was proven wrong. All her entries are from her first two albums which have unfortunately aged pretty badly but at least her resurgence will propel her up again.
  17. 30. CLEAN BANDIT No. of hits - 7 (3 Number Ones/7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit m-M1AtrxztU Combining elements of classical music and house has proven to be a winning formula for Clean Bandit who churn out hits like no tomorrow. They usually have inspired vocal features and have a gift for distilling melancholy and euphoria into their songs. 29. YEARS & YEARS No. of hits - 7 (6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit g_uoH6hJilc Another great band to emerge this decade, Olly really is a great figurehead for LGBT in music - he embraces his sexuality and it is a big part of their success. It helps that they write massive pop choruses as well. I'm praying they don't fall victim to the 2nd album curse. 28. ALEXANDRA BURKE No. of hits 6 (5 Number Ones/6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit MWKchS0GAyo Looking at the amount of those number ones, it seems like I was a big Alexandra fan at the beginning of the decade. I still think she was one of the best things to come out of the X Factor and her wasted potential is painful. A combination of bad management and a disastrous guest judging appearance killed her career but she seems to be winning over the public again on Strictly... 27. SIA No. of hits - 9 (3 Number Ones/8 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 2vjPBrBU-TM Sia was an alternative queen for a good decade before she turned her insane talent to pop music and became a megastar of her own. Possibly the most in-demand songwriter in the world, she keeps the best stuff for her self and her unique voice (if sometimes impossible to understand) really sells her songs. 26. JUSTIN BIEBER No. of hits - 8 (1 Number One/7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit fRh_vgS2dFE Possible the biggest comeback in the last decade, Justin managed to make the transformation from bratty child start to world-conquering megastar. Sure, he's still a total idiot but he mostly has the material to back him up.
  18. 35. OLLY MURS No. of hits - 11 (7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 4aQDOUbErNg You can't deny his longevity - he's way passed the X Factor male curse and has at least one great song per album. I think he'll be around for a while yet and just transform more into an albums artist. 34. RITA ORA No. of hits - 7 (1 Number One/6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 50GQjUZ4P3M She may have struggled to get a second album out but there is not stopping Rita racking up the hits. I just find her really likeable and she has been lucky in getting her hands on some great song. SPOILER: 'Anywhere' is currently number one in my chart so expect her a lot higher next year. 33. JENNIFER LOPEZ No. of hits - 8 (6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit t4H_Zoh7G5A No-brainer for her biggest hit there - 'On The Floor' was something of a career renaissance for her although the effects have seem to worn off now. I would be surprised to see her hit big again but with Latin influences being the flavour of the month I won't completely rule her out. 32. JASON DERULO No. of hits - 12 (7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit UyG1FG3H6rY Every time you think Jason Derulo is done, he will pop up again with another mega smash. Although his quality control isn't great, there's no denying his absolute bangers - 'Talk Dirty' and 'Want To Want Me' are unbeatable. 31. SELENA GOMEZ No. of hits - 10 (6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit FMlcn-_jpWY I've combined both 'Selena Gomez & the Scene' and her solo career as they're practically the same anyway. The original whisper queen has somehow been part of some absolutely massive bops over the years and seems to go from strength to strength while her Disney compatriots seem to be a bit messier.
  19. 1. (1) Rita Ora – Anywhere [3] 2. (2) SOPHIE - It’s Okay To Cry [2] 3. (NE) Clean Bandit ft Julia Michaels – I Miss You [1] 4. (3) Marshmello ft Khalid – Silence [4] 5. (19) Cardi B – Bodak Yellow [9] 29. (25) Shania Twain – Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed [6] 30. (26) Maroon 5 ft SZA – What Lovers Do [5]
  20. 40. FOXES No. of hits - 9 (6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit VAerYplzZUE A bit of surprise to see here - I've never felt that Foxes has got the success she deserves. 'Body Talk' is such a massive banger but so is 'Cruel' and 'Glorious' so I really hope that she can somehow fight the flop and get a third album out. 39. FIFTH HARMONY No. of hits - 6 (2 Number Ones/6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 5GL9JoH4Sws Releasing my favourite song from 2016 will get you high on this list - 'Work From Home' was drenched in sex which is pretty much everything I want from a girlgroup. It's a shame that Camila left because it seemed like they were building into something massive and their third album campaign has been a bit of a disappointment. 38. BRUNO MARS No. of hits - 8 (7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit UqyT8IEBkvY Bruno has mastered the art of nostalgia music - throwing back to certain eras and updating it. Sometimes he masters it like 'Locked Out Of Heaven' - others it's horrifically cheesy like 'When I Was Your Man'. Definitely a chart force to reckon with. 37. P!NK No. of hits - 7 (1 Number One/7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 3jNlIGDRkvQ Before her massive comeback this year it had been about 4 years since P!nk last dominated my chart and I presumed she would just continue to slip down the rankings. That doesn't look likely now! 36. ADELE No. of hits - 6 (1 Number One/6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit rYEDA3JcQqw In most official lists I'd guess she'd be in the top 5 but she still does quite well in my list. I'm not as obsessed as the rest of the world as I do prefer her slightly more upbeat moments - 'Rolling In The Deep', 'Send My Love'. etc but their is no denying her exceptional talent and hilarious personality.
  21. 1. (1) Rita Ora – Anywhere [2] 2. (NE) SOPHIE – It’s Okay To Cry [1] 3. (3) Marshmello ft Khalid – Silence [3] 4. (7) Mabel ft Kojo Funds – Finders Keepers [5] 5. (2) Jessie Ware – Alone [5] 6. (15) Anne-Marie – Heavy [2] 11. (11) Post Malone ft 21 Savage – rockstar [4] 12. (NE) Calvin Harris ft Kehlani & Lil Yachty – Faking It [1] 13. (21) Charlie Puth – How Long [2] 14. 22. 45. PALOMA FAITH No. of hits - 8 (6 top 10 hits) Biggest hit imi9Smkt_cI I'm very surprised that the biggest hit wasn't 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' actually. Paloma is a very consistent performer although she is more of an albums artist for me. Expect her to be a bit higher next year after the release of her fourth album. 44. TINIE TEMPAH No. of hits - 10 (1 Number One/5 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit nsDwItoNlLc Whatever happened to Tinie's brilliance on his debut album? Every subsequent release has become more derivative and generic. He is probably the biggest rapper in the UK but Stormzy is quickly catching up. 43. DISCLOSURE No. of hits - 8 (7 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit W_vM8ePGuRM Disclosure's debut album is a masterclass in soulful house music. In fact they are the only act that can make Sam Smith listenable for me. It's a shame that they seem to have gone on hiatus as their second album still had some gems, including the Lorde collaboration 'Magnets'. 42. DJ FRESH No. of hits - 8 (6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit N7OPZOBJZyI Purveyor of floorfillers that unfortunately age very quickly apart from the excellent 'Hot Right Now' and 'Gold Dust'. I would be surprised to see him on my chart again. 41. THE WANTED No. of hits - 10 (1 Number One/6 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 2ggzxInyzVE 'Glad You Came' is such a banger that it almost makes up for some the dross they released towards the end of their career. Nobody's exactly clamouring for a Wanted reunion are they?
  23. Half way through! 50. THE WEEKND No. of hits - 6 (1 Number One/5 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit KEI4qSrkPAs I always see The Weeknd as a male Lana - prolific with a distinct soundscape but there's always something to draw you in. His flirtation with pop and collaborations with Daft Punk and Max Martin have been successful so I'm always looking forward to seeing what he does next. 49. BASTILLE No. of hits - 6 (1 Number One/4 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit F90Cw4l-8NY Well it was only always going to be that song, wasn't it? 'Pompeii' has always threatened to overshadow anything else Bastille have released and indeed they struggled with their sophomore album - it looks like the public moved on fast. 48. KYLIE MINOGUE No. of hits - 6 (1 Number One/4 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit frv6FOt1BNI Pure euphoria distilled in a song right there. Kylie's had a rough decade with 'Aphrodite' being an artistic triumph... and 'Kiss Me Once' being the opposite. It seems like she's releasing again next year so I hope she's switched it up a bit and doesn't serve up anything as atrocious as 'I Was Gonna Cancel'. 47. CHVRCHES No. of hits - 8 (3 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit _mTRvJ9fugM The little band that could. CHVRCHES two albums are perfect examples of electropop fused with 80s influences and it's always good to see them loved on the forum and build up their mainstream popularity. 46. will.i.am No. of hits - 7 (5 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit kYtGl1dX5qI Christ.
  24. 55. SAM SMITH No. of hits - 6 (5 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit pB-5XG-DbAA Oh here he is, Mr Dreary himself. The first ever homosexual Sam Smith. I actually liked his debut before radio drove his songs into the ground and he lowered his tempo to a funeral march. Don't expect to see anything from his second album on my charts. 54. DEMI LOVATO No. of hits - 7 (2 Number Ones/3 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit AByfaYcOm4A Demi would likely be a lot higher if she had more than one decent song per album. I always see her as the American Jessie J but less annoying - and at least she has the massive bop 'Cool For The Summer'. 53. JLS No. of hits - 8 (4 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit 8r2Q9S4PLkQ JLS actually had a decent run of singles with a couple of clangers aside (The Club Is Alive - I'm looking at you). It was super refreshing to have a dancing boyband and they knew when to call it quits while remaining friends. 52. JESSIE WARE No. of hits - 6 (5 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit Wo2QB2kqG_w One of the most underrated British acts of the moment Jessie adds a bit of sass and soul to the ballads market and does a mean uptempo too. Her current album might be a bit beige but there is no doubting her talent. 51. MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS No. of hits - 5 (1 Number One/5 Top 10 hits) Biggest hit QK8mJJJvaes One good run of singles before crashing and burning. I can't even imagine listening to a Macklemore song bar 'Same Love' these days so that shows how quickly they aged.
