I believe that the awful vocals is the main reason why they skip 2000. Personally I love everything about that performance. But… Victoria threatened with death, Mel C playing drunk, technical issues, feud between Geri and the girls… who knows what else..

Great news! Can we presume that her next album will be out around September? I can see Melanie C part 2 and the book working well together.

She is recording new album. She already said about performing new songs soon. Probably there will be a single as well.

Naked, Step to Me and one more song from Forever (Tell Me Why or Right Back atya) - Holler remix was good but I would like to hear the original version. The 2007 version sounded sooo good!! Thats all.

I remember trying hard to like this album back in 2001. I gave up quickly. To be honest, in terms of music, it was my first first frustration from a spice girl. I was in a high expectations waiting for a pop/rock upbeat album. Listening again after all these years my thoughts remains the same. Hotter should have been a single. The first single. It is the best track. Actually, Hotter and For once in my life are the only songs I can listen from Mel B. I don’t get why she was so “irresponsible” with her solo music career. Shes a great and talented person.

She should have sung something from her last album. 'Into You' would be perfect. Waste of opportunity to show her solo work on a large scale....again. Most people know her only for being a spice girl. When the chance to change that comes up, she appears singing a song by the group. ( although it was probably the production choice).

I think for ther next album, Melanie should move to LA, where she get more respect, Exposition, inspirations and opportunities. She loves been there.

I dont like 2007 era. They were doing all in a rush, you can tell they were not happy, especially MC and Victoria. The tour was good ok but lot of songs missing, and solos doesn’t worked well. Headlines as a come back single is a shame. Thanks God we had Olympics and 2019 tour to forget about that “return” .

Forever was a hastily made album. The songs are good but there's always a feeling that something is missing. There is a lack of production in some songs. A few more instruments would make some perfect songs. They wanted to radicalize, but the perfect way out would be to keep some pop, move to darker rock and some disco vibes. Forever would bring a new proposal without losing the group's identity. My dream tracklist would be something like this: 1- WOMAN - Yes, the holy gral, controversial song from the Spice Girls story - I would definitely put it on the album, in a more Disco version like We Are Family and it would guarantee an anthem. 2- Holler - Perfect as it is. Nothing to change. Maybe add some guitar like the 1999 live version. 3- Tell me Why - this song would definitely sound better in a dark rock version with guitars and everything, and a pop beat. So it would be a strong candidate to be a single. 3- Let Love Lead The Way - I wouldn't change anything. Flawless production. 4- Right Back At Ya - The album version is more interesting than the leaked version. Although the pop version sounds more fun. I wouldn't change anything, maybe make it a little Rockier like I would with Tell Me Why. 5- Get Dow With Me - Believe it or not, there is a lot of potential in this song that was wasted on this cheap version. I once listened to a remix made by a fan, using the base of another song by another artist. And, dude, it would have been SO much better if they had used guitars and made a more electro beat. 6- Wasting My Time - Lack of quality and voices. Only 3 of them sing. The effects used are annoying and annoying. The only salvation for this song is to make it more Disco. 7- Weekend Love - Although many like this one, I would take it off the album and replace Pain Proff instead. 8- Time Goes By and Oxigen = Boring songs, too slow. I would trade them both for a version of A Day In Your Life. However, this version would be different from the leaked version, with a Spanish-style like Viva Forever 9- If You Wanna have Some Fun - Perfect as it is, it wouldn't change anything except for the repetitive ending "are u having fun?" What did they have in mind? Looks like they had to finish the song anyway and chose the worst way.

Northern Star and MELANIE C... are the only albums I can listen to without skipping any songs. GaGa should have been a single instead of ITWM.

Glad it's on youtube. I don't have access since I'm from Brazil. Well.... It seems that the documentary tended to show that the whole 'girl power story' was a marketing strategy, and men manipulated them to extract money. The first manager was placed as a victim, as was Simon. And that without them the girls went downhill. As a fan it hurts when they dont treat the girls as a musical band, just as a commercial product. At a certain point I understand this and the prejudgement that exists about the spice girls. I mean, in Brazil (around 1997/1998) they were everywhere, in every place. MTV Brasil they were always in first position, as well in radios. Spice Mania was huge back then here. In those days even if you weren't a fan, you would definitely listen or see something related to the Spice Girls every single day! Whether in the newspaper, magazine, TV, radio, or in stores. But this whole commercial thing overshadowed the group as a (musical) band. Thats a fact! Non-fans tend to like their songs but don't take them seriously as artists. In my opinion, all this marketing strategy somehow damaged their musical image. After all, few songs released and an explosive career built on image and advertisings.

Just for the record: before the official announcement, Melanie had 807K followers on Instagram. Let's see how many followers she will reach by the end of the show.

I was about to comment on this. Americans are/were big fans of girls, especially those from South America (Brazil). She has done well on breaking out the UK bubble and expand opportunities. Good strategy! She will certainly do well there. :heart:

Pretty this! With the last album she opened some doors and found a new path for her solo career. Of course, the next step will be to establish a base there. We all know how the music industry works in USA and I believe she is open-minded about all the things that can come up. Especially now that she seems to have found the right music style and has been making good music. I'm glad she's moving this way. (Like I said before, theres no reasons on focusing and making efforts in a group that doesn't take anything seriously - It's perfectly understandable that she's not interested in working on new project with the Girls, even though she's stated that she's up for touring and keep the legacy alive).

Speaking like that, it seems that she is the person responsible for not having new music. When in fact there are four more involved and one of them admittedly doesn't want to do anything. Certainly this participation on Dancing with Stars is to help to promote her solo career, not promote a group that doesn't care about nothing. She is absolutely correct in putting her solo career first! When it comes to Spice Girls, there is nothing reliable and concrete. There's no reason to strive for a group when... there isn't even a group. But yes, go ahead and blame it on her...again :dance:

I'm glad Melanie has reconsidered doing things she would never have done in the past. Finally she realized that there was no reason to limit herself. It's all about opportunities. As for the visibility she will have, before anything related to spice girls, Melanie will be releasing new music and will be on tour. This will likely help her new solo work. Probably a new single by the end of this year.
