I love that album top four, great results. Nice for Little Mix and consistent sales for Elvis, probably, I'm not surprised at The Beatles' 1 re-issue selling well because the most comprehensive set is beautiful, one of the best re-issues I have ever seen -- that's probably the version that most people are buying. Horrible position for Ellie as expected and the thing is she'll probably fall even lower by Friday. OOPS.

Fleur's album is appearing in the top 100 now as well. It was #76 earlier when I checked; now I can't get on the LivePopBars feed because my laptop is running slowly. Amazingly high position for Anastacia's hits collection, but it's deserved. She's very underrated, a great artist.
  3. The problem with Little Mix's and Ben Haenow's peaks is the on air on sale release; only acts who truly can benefit from this kind of release strategy should use it, and just because it's one of the most recent methods of launching a release doesn't mean that all acts should use it for the sake of it. Love Me Like You and Second Hand Heart would've achieved a much more satisfying performance if they had been put up for pre-order originally and then released on the 30th. This is obvious.
  4. I don't think that there's really a set standard for which service is better for predicting sales out of iTunes and Amazon. Observing their progressions over the years, both are now much more pivotal than they once were, with digital sales in the album chart playing a fairly large part in an album's overall tally, and Amazon simply just being one of the companies that most people seem to use, but it's still not a big outlet for sales at all. Physical copies bought still remain the cream of the crop for most artists' albums, and will probably continue to do so for a number of years -- decades -- yet, even with the declining market. We can't really tell what Little Mix and Ellie Goulding are going to sell from their iTunes and Amazon positions, although it's interesting to see the large distinction in their positions nonetheless.
  5. Why is he not performing Sorry? I hope that he changes this at last minute. As for the sales, Little Mix have usually opened up with higher first week sales than Ellie anyway, haven't they? Their lower positions have came from the fact that they have always released at a competitive time in the year, whereas Ellie so far hasn't. I think that people are underestimating Little Mix's opening amount, and Ellie's first week tally might be a little low in people's minds too, but she certainly won't hit a large amount. If there's one thing that people are overestimating about Ellie, it's her supposed superstar status. She just had an album that sold very well over time, gaining a second wind because of a re-release, and Halycon Days or whatever its title is hit #1 because of a sale in the new year. That album didn't sell very well upon its initial release, and neither did Lights. There's no reason why this one won't do the same, although if the album had been released during Love Me Like You Do's reign, it probably would've opened up with a higher sale than it will do, even with it being released during the fourth quarter.
  6. Also, could a moderator please edit this so that users can select a position too? I've tried to edit it, but I think I was supposed to select the option that allowed users to pick as many options as possible. Sorry for my clumsiness.
  7. Also, I've realised that I've missed out some 'specify in comments', NOT THAT I NEEDED TO INCLUDE ALL OF THEM, but I'm TIRED. Me: 1 1D 140-150k 2 Justin 90k 3 Ben 40k 4 Ed 30k 8 Kylie 20k I've got Eva Cassidy's release on my mind too, as she has done quite well in Christmas seasons in the past, but I don't think that she will sell any more than these.
  8. Hello! As we all know, there are some RAVISHING new albums coming out on 13/11 which will kick off the Christmas selling season in STYLE before Adelegend takes over. I have posted the five that I believe are most anticipated, either by the general public or by Buzzjack. I have listed a range of positions and predictions in the poll that you can choose from; I used the opening sales of the act's last album but also the performances of the singles and the artist's chart record on the whole to make a list of sales ranges. You may agree with the ones that I have set; you may disagree, but all in all I think they are accurate. It is pretty hard to predict Ed, Ben and Kylie as their albums are the first of their kind: obviously, it is Ben's first album altogether, Ed's first re-release, and Kylie's first Christmas record. Biebs is hard to predict too, because his last albums have debuted in the 30-40k range, but his popularity at the moment is so huge that I think he could do similar figures to Taylor's 1989 (90k). 1D are perhaps the most straightforward and easiest to predict. Enjoy!
  9. I doubt that Sam Smith's re-issue will come in to the equation; I'm surprised that so many people have voted for it. Surely the highest In the Lonely Hour can hope for is #3, the same with Ed's re-issue the week following. For me, this is a clear battle between Little Mix and Ellie Goulding. A month ago when this topic was created I, like most others, would've voted for Ellie, and even in her prediction thread I was sure that she'd be #1. However, it will be a lot closer than I originally thought, and I voted for Little Mix because the signs are now pointed towards them outselling her. I'm not a massive fan of Little Mix, but I do think that they are due a #1 album after previously charting higher with their lead singles. I cannot stand Ellie Goulding and Sam Smith, so this will be approved by me.
  10. Hello is easily looking at more than 100k in sales this week, but its total amount is down by 53% which, to be honest, is a larger drop than I expected, even with its ginormous first week sales. Sorry is holding up much better, and it's not just because of Mason Noise's performance on X Factor. Big sales for Elvis. Didn't expect that at all, but the promotion for the album has been very heavy.

    4-6 2-3
  12. I'm pretty sure that there are no sales missing from Little Mix's and Ellie Goulding's current amounts -- why would sales for those two acts be missing and every other act have full sales? They didn't get the boost that people were expecting -- that's all. Another busy week in the albums chart with many new entries, and some of those second week falls aren't surprising.
  13. LMFAO @ Simon getting the name wrong. Spot on result. Would love to see the full results chart; shame they're not released until after the series.
  14. They have to keep Kiera. She was let down by Rita last night. I think many of the contestants were ruined by the judges' song choices and stage settings. The girls in Alien don't seem very likeable either; beyond their appearances they have zero personality and just don't seem very nice.
  15. Bupsi, aw. <3 Glad that the public see beyond the glitz and glamour and realise that Alien are quite terrible. Out, please.
  16. 4th Impact, Louisa, Mason Alien, Bupsi Bupsi Cheryl but might be Nick by the end of the season; he was rubbish in the auditions but he's made the best decisions during Bootcamp and will probably be the best during the lives It's Janet, Miss Jackson if ya NASTEH
  17. Kiera and Bupsi will be bottom two, I think; but it was an underwhelming first show on the whole: I only rate Fourth Impact, Mason, Louisa (who are the only three that really stand out for me), Sean and Monica. None of the performances were terrible, but the other eight ranged from filler to simply average for me. Che and Max have great voices and it's a shame that they had awful song choices and stage settings, Anton is good but I find him really uncomforting to watch (I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way); Reggie n Bollie are fun and I think that they'll bring in some votes enough to avoid the bottom two tomorrow; Lauren and Kiera are dull; Alien (I refuse to call them Alien Uncovered, which stands for nothing) are an overrated mess; and Bupsi is all personality. I want Alien and Reggie n Bollie in the bottom two, but I'm sold on Kiera and Bupsi -- definitely the latter -- landing there, and the iTunes positions -- even though they don't necessarily represent the votes -- seem to agree with me.
  18. Poor Bupsi. Expected, though.
  19. Great sales for Adele and Justin. Both Hello and Sorry are tremendous songs, and despite not really being a fan of the Beibs (that could change given the quality of the music he's released this year...), it's a shame he'll miss out on it because of Adele's huge hype. Adele is a shoe-in for +320k looking at her daily sales as well as the missing data, surely.

I love 1D but they don't need to be #1 at all; it's not like they have a consecutive run of #1s and Drag Me Down this year was only their second lead single to peak at #1 after What Makes You Beautiful. They will have more success this era than they had with Four. That KDA song is an absolute bop and deserves the top spot very much.

I see that those new entries in the album chart are already eroding away very quickly and making way for King Edsus and Queen Jess Glynneth Paltrow. Yas.
  22. #1 Outside top 10 40-60k; nearer to 60k, probably a bit more than that, but not quite 80k. Can't stand ha.

I'm willing to bet money on the probability of those top twelve new entries being halved by Friday, and there will hardly be much of a clear out beyond the top five.
