  1. Slow Really hard. I absolutely adore the five songs left and they're some of the best.
  2. Burning Up is probably the best song of the lot. :( Turn It Into Love
  3. 01 Ray of Light Seamless, creative and cohesive, it deserves all the praise it gets. Drowned World, Skin, Sky Fits Heaven, The Power of Goodbye and Mer Girl are among my favourite Madonna songs. 02 Erotica I feel like this album most defines Madonna as an artist: bold, controversial and artistic. The tracks running from Deeper and Deeper through to Rain is the best moment in her discography. 03 Bedtime Stories Contemporary R&B suited her really well. The production and lyricism on this album is really good but what's most impressive is her vocals; she never sounded better than she does here. 04 American Life Really underrated. Every track is solid and what's best about this one is that none of the songs follow a conventional verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus structure. The ballads are probably the highlight. 05 Music Musically this is probably her most inventive album; it's ahead of its time and would've sounded fresh a decade after its release. Impressive Instant, Nobody's Perfect, Don't Tell Me and Paradise (Not For Me) shit on careers. 06 Rebel Heart Her most diverse album, probably due to the amount of songs it contains, but no other artist would be able to pull off such an eclectic sounding record thirty plus years into their career. The tracklist needs restructuring, but the quality is extremely high throughout. 07 Like A Prayer Her first album that I'd consider to be consistently high in quality, she started writing confessional and mature lyrics for this record which stands out in the first portion of her discography from the 80s. Till Death Do Us Part is one of her strongest album tracks. It's in dire need of a remaster, though. 08 Confessions On A Dance Floor A stellar piece of work in its own right, I love the continuous sequencing and it's a very good dance album, and this is the last one on my list that I feel is listenable the entire way through. It's tediously overrated, though, and nowhere near as good as people make it out to be (huge apolz). 09 I'm Breathless Nice listen, cohesive and vocally impressive. An odd ball in her discography in that she has no other records which feature jazz music throughout. 10 Madonna Short and sweet, and good for the most part. It's a stronger debut than most 80s stars would hope to have. 11 Hard Candy A fine pop/R&B album, nicely produced, and probably gets more dislike than it deserves. It is disappointing as a Madonna album, though, because it lacks the creativity of most of her music. It also sounds fairly dates like most other Timbaland featured music from 06-08. 12 MDNA Half of it is excellent; half of it is utter tripe. Turn Off the Radio, Gimme All Your Luvin', Superstar and B'Day Song are among the worst tracks of her career. 13 True Blue Papa Don't Preach, Open Your Heart, Live To Tell and La Isla Bonita is the onky material worth listening to here and I think this is over praised because of those songs. True Blue, Jimmy Jimmy and Love Makes The World Go Round are absolutely rubbish. 14 Like A Virgin I have no mercy for this. If there was a template for forgettable, filler 80s pop music, Like A Virgin is it, and if there was ever anything Madonna did that is truly bad, it's this. Full of almost unlistenable trash.
  4. I luv urs 2 Fine and Kiss Me Once 1 and Sleeping With the Enemy 4? Okay..........................
  5. Still Standing should have been gone long ago. I like it, but it isn't as half as interesting or impressive as some of the songs that have gone before it.
  6. 10 Into The Blue 07 Million Miles 04 I Was Gonna Cancel (and she should have!) 09 Sexy Love 08 Sexercize (this is fairly underrated!) 10 Feels So Good 10 If Only 08 Les Sex 10 Kiss Me Once 06 Beautiful (more for the version she sang on the tour) 10 Fine 03 Mr. President (VILE) 10 Sparks 10 Sleeping With the Enemy 115/140 = 82% I must admit that I have barely listened to the album, but it did grow on me with repeated listens. I Was Gonna Cancel and Mr. President are the only real duds, and they could've been replaced by any of the Sleepwalker tracks or Crystalise. I gave seven songs 10 which is more than I would've thought I'd give... As a whole I don't think it sounds dated but it feels fairly safe and a by-the-numbers Kylie album for the most part. A very fine album, though.
  7. Bump. Total masterpiece from an album that is also a criminally underrated masterpiece. That music video is totally ahead of its time even now; the best clip she ever did.
  8. Up to #36 in today's midweeks.
  9. Yes, it's one of the most interesting and complex songs in the album in a way. It has one of the nicest melodies too.
  10. Somebody else plz tell me that they love Body Shop or that it's at least growing on them? :( It was such a WTF moment at first but it's such a clever song.
  11. I think Addicted is the weakest super deluxe track and one of the weakest overall, but it's in no way weak and I enjoy it a lot. I listened to the fourteen demos that didn't make the album and I liked them all except for God Is Love. I would like to hear final versions of Freedom and Never Let You Go in the future.
  12. I'm Addicted Both are solid, and this is probably a very unpopular opinion but Addicted is one of the weakest songs on Rebel Heart for me (bare in mind that I think 23 of its 25 songs are good/great).
  13. Well, Rebel Heart is so diverse that she could release dual singles and play on the album's theme of having two split personalities: she could release something that radio will play and then Bitch I'm Madonna could get club play and a video that could potentially go viral. I don't see what she'd have to lose. Bitch I'm Madonna actually came on in the club while I was out the other night and people went crazy for it; that drop is everything.
  14. Omg  Still Standing I gave Body Language a re-listen today and it's such a high quality record, the most interesting of her Parlaphone releases definitely. Very mistreated and misunderstood.
  15. I think it's best that Bitch I'm Madonna is released as the third single. I don't necessarily want it to be released -- I would like to see Devil Pray and Joan of Arc released, and I think that Iconic sounds very single-worthy too. However a few performances of the song will help the album out a lot if the effect from the Jimmy Fallon promotion in the US is anything to go by.
  16. I love both videos from this era so far. The cinematography and scenery in the Ghosttown clip is stunning and M looks gorgeous. I'm hoping that she's saving a more plot-driven video for Devil Pray. Offer Nissim premiered his remix of the song during a live set on Friday night:
  17. It was #34 in the first midweek update so that's great to see. MDNA was also #28 in its fifth week with a chart run of 1-7-13-13-28. The Wash All Over Me demo has grown on me however it works much better as a contemporary ballad than as a dance song. I'm also really enjoying the Messiah demo which has a richer string and orchestral arrangement -- I wonder why it was decided that the final version should be toned down. I like the stripped back demo of Joan of Arc too although it's stellar in whatever form it comes in.
  18. Still Standing #Justice4CruiseControl&SloMotion
  19. I can't view that video; what is it? :P Edit: Oh God, the Harlem Shake, stop plz. :P I listened to the original demos and I think I prefer the Iconic demo to the original, or at least parts of it, particularly the second half from the breakdown onwards. I also enjoy the Rebel Heart and Hold Tight demos perhaps as much as the finals, but otherwise she chose all the right versions to appear on the album. Really shocked at how poor the original demo of Holy Water is; the worst song of the lot became one of the best with the strongest production! :o
  20. Really shocked that Loving Days has gone so soon. Still Standing again. Sweet Music is great! :( So many clever musical references in the lyrics and the production is fantastic.
