iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd November 2014
The entire top seven have over 70% on LivePopBars; I can't remember a time when such a high percentage covered so many placings. Ben Haenow is performing Thinking Out Loud on X Factor; it will receive an increase from it but with it being less than 25% away from #1 I wouldn't be surprised if it's at the very least near the top tomorrow night, especially with it being the second highest seller of the day in Thursday's midweek update.

How many copies will Take That's III sell in its first week?
- iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd November 2014
Someone already stated that the above list is probably based on what had been shipped to stores prior to an album's release and I'd agree. There's absolutely no way that III is the largest pre-ordered album in the history of public buying and furthermore there's no way that Never Been Better is the fifth highest pre-ordered album of this year higher than the likes of AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Paolo and Ed.- Body Language
I absolutely adore Fever, I think it's a perfect pop-dance album, however I can completely understand why you'd find it overrated (and really I suppose it is).- iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd November 2014
Well it would hardly make sense for him to perform something else. Wrapped Up #1 combined- Body Language
Yes, I agree. Another two that can join that list I think are Kylie Minogue (KM94) and Let's Get To It, but I don't think the reception of those is as divided as Impossible Princess and Body Language and they don't seem to strike up as much debate or appear in conversation a lot. I find some of her more acclaimed and beloved efforts (particularly Light Years and to an extent Aphrodite) to be quite overrated. Those albums don't have much substance.- Body Language
That's the problem I'm speaking about, though: Body Language isn't pop heaven and people can't take it for what it is. I think in general if people listen to the record with an open mind and open ears rather than comparing it to her pop-focused records they will see the album come to life the way it should be listened to.- How many copies will Take That's III sell in its first week?
Personally I think comparing this one's potential with Barlow's own Since I Saw You Last is more suitable and appropriate than comparing it to Take That's own records because they're in a totally different circumstance now, but we'll see.- Impossible Princess Appreciation
Masterpiece. One of the most daring and left-field releases from a pop recording artist of all-time. Her best work that she'll never top.- Body Language
Hugely. It's near-perfect. Its reputation seems to better with time but I feel that the reason it got treat unfairly is because of its contrast musically to Fever and not because of the content of the album itself. My second favourite Kylie album behind Impossible Princess. It's among her most musically complex and lyrically it's also interesting. I feel like the lyrical content of the album is all but ignored: lyrics of songs such as Promises, Chocolate, Obsession and Someday are brilliant.- Rank The Parlo Albums
1. Body Language By far her most cohesive record (in terms of quality, only Impossible Princess is better), Body Language was an artistic endeavour for Kylie like the aforementioned album that saw her successfully experimenting with electro pop, funk and R&B as well as different styles of pop and dance. Based on the notions that every track has its own energy and that when digested as a whole, it's fantastically consistent throughout, Body Language is by far the best. The amount of shit she got off some fans for this was ridiculous and unjustified because the criticism came from the fact that the album isn't Fever part two. And really, where would that have got her, ultimately? 2. Fever A classic and iconic pop record that I feel really energised the 2000s pop scene. Again, every track is quality although there are a couple of occasions where certain material is stronger than other songs (More More More and Dancefloor strike me as weaker tracks, however they're in no way bad at all). Ultimately there's not really a lot to say about it other than that it's a beautifully done pop record. Both Body Language and Fever boast of several outtakes which could have been in their respective albums. 3. X The quality of songs on this album are almost as good as the music on Fever, give or take, and it's a really creative and diverse album. On the flipside, it's also patchy as an album because Kylie experimented with perhaps too many genres and/or sub genres here. Again, like Fever, it's good from start to finish but has a couple of tracks that aren't as good as the rest, namely Heartbeat Rock and Cosmic. 4. Aphrodite A by-the-numbers pop album that is solid and nicely arranged and structured but calculated and devoid of any creativity. Again, not much to say about this. 5. Light Years Each time I listen to this I grow less and less fond of it and here's why: it contains a fair bunch of novelty tracks with either silly lyrics or melodies, and the gems on the album are therefore hidden among some tracks that could have been replaced by b-sides: Paper Dolls replacing Bittersweet Goodbye, for example? YES, I THINK SO. 6. Kiss Me Once Decent pop album with some outstanding moments and mostly empty and faceless pop songs. It's growing on me but honestly I've only listened to it a few times whereas usually eight months after the release of a Kylie album I'd have played it so much more. Like Aphrodite it's not creative whatsoever and I think she's starting to run out of ideas (twelve albums and twenty-seven years into her career, who can blame her?).- iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd November 2014
Olly has three versions at 4, 47 & 51; he's at 72% combined whereas Labrinth is on 63%.- How many copies will Take That's III sell in its first week?
Here are the current positions of the deluxe editions on Amazon and iTunes respectively: 15. III 70. III The standard versions are somewhere outside the top 100. One thing I'll say is obviously Take That's prime audience are physical buyers rather than digital purchasers, however less than six days before the release of the album these are just not the positions that an album that sells above 200k in its first week achieves. britster, see the bracketed section of my original post.- How many copies will Take That's III sell in its first week?
Take That's new album III is released next week on 1 December. The pre-orders for the album and anticipation has noticeably been lower than expected despite Progress's huge 500k+ opening following Robbie's return. In my opinion I don't think that the general public is very interested in them as a three-piece band, and I wouldn't be surprised if the album sold less than 200k in its opening week. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if Ed Sheeran kept his biggest opening figure of the year with 182,000 for x. What do you think? (I haven't added a poll because they're not very precise and you can only have so many options.)- iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd November 2014
Why are there so many David Guetta songs from his new album charting anyway? It's not out until tomorrow. RE What I Did For Love, I'd imagine it'll climb at a more rapid place when people realise it's out.- iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd November 2014
Why did they delete the original version?- iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 16th November 2014
I think Let It Go will fight towards the top ten in December and if that doesn't do it then the iTunes Christmas gift cards effect will.- iTunes Album Chart ~ 2014
Lol he'll sell far more than 50k. I think what the poster means is 1D could potentially take the #1 from him, but I think he'll get it.- iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 9th November 2014
Blank Space >>>>>>> Shake It Off (the weakest song by a mile on 1989) 44 Haunted It's climbing really quickly.- iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 9th November 2014
So I assume Ella's X Factor performance is for 30 November? Who will be the other guest act on with her, and have a set of acts for 23 November been confirmed yet? [slightly off-topic; apologies.]- iTunes Album Chart ~ 2014
I didn't watch it, but I suspect that it probably didn't. I wouldn't be surprised if not that many people know it's even out, to be honest.- iTunes Album Chart ~ 2014
But honey, the receipts are there in black and white. :P I will -- when I have the money. :P :drama:- iTunes Album Chart ~ 2014
It looks like my theory about Queen's documentary is accurate: the deluxe of Queen Forever has climbed a tad from 14-13, with the standard edition rising 63-41, but The Platinum Collection has raced up to 20 and their other Greatest Hits has similarly sprinted to 31. It looks like the majority of people just bought these two instead -- and who can blame them? They are superior. Meanwhile, Cheryl is down to 11, 106 and 114. Her situation is dire, a raging disaster. - iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd November 2014
