Friday Chart Predictions (Thurs Update + Top 5 Sales)
Its ratio of digital sales is down as 0% as that's physicals only! Could it be a mistake?

Panic will be very frontloaded; I expect that Bowie will pull ahead very nicely by Friday.

250 streams between Love Yourself and Sorry! If there is still a New Year's effect registered in tomorrow's update the latter could retake the #1 for a short time.

Love Yourself back up to #1 on the combined chart now. That was quick -- and very competitive. :P

Friday Chart Predictions
I'm shocked that Louisa is climbing, but I did at the very least expect it to hold steady due to the physical selling a nice amount over the next week for Christmas. In its third week, the real plummeting will begin and Buzzjack will have a field day. The NHS Choir were never going to unseat Bieber.

I spoke of a lack of hype for the song, in which there unquestionable is no hype for it.

Friday Chart Predictions
It's not likely that the physical single will be selling much anyway; if I worked at HMV and was monitoring the performance of the song's digital units before its release I wouldn't think it was worth putting out so many copies at the front of the store either. There could be less copies shipped than expected, which would make sense given the song's lack of hype and selling power, though I'm sure that Simon would want to have it sell as many copies as possible. On Amazon, the CD single is at a lower position than the usual placing of an X Factor's winners single following its release.

1D's slight increase in pop bar may have something to do with their appearance on that James Corden show; a lot of their songs have climbed as well as their back catalogue and Made in the A.M. itself has increased its position since the appearance. It's worth noting that their karaoke video of the FOUR album track No Control has gone viral and as a result it currently #78.

Friday Chart Predictions
Thanks for the update, guys! I think if Louisa had a full 7 days of sales she'd be going in at #3 behind both Justin singles. Which isn't great. She's underperforming (flopping, if you'd prefer) regardless of not having a weekly sale. I do hope that this doesn't affect her chances of being popular and successful outside of her coronation single; if she targets the right audience she will do well. As fantastic of a singer as she is, I never really understood what audience she was targetting and what kind of artist she would become. Syco need to treat her post-X Factor career very carefully. It doesn't look like the X Factor final has had much of an effect on our guest performer's albums either. Are One Direction still #9?

^ Yes, I just saw this and the sale should be around 17-18k for yesterday. I doubt that Love Yourself sold much less than that...

Friday Chart Predictions
I don't think Louisa will dethrone Love Yourself either, which is really crap for her. LY is already gaining on iTunes, her sales seem a bit limp and I don't think her physical will help her pull ahead. The Thursday cut-off point this year has a lot to do with it since Love Yourself already had a 40k headstart. Simon might want to rethink the release strategy of next year's winner.

Friday Chart Predictions
It's only the deluxe edition that's being sold for that price on Amazon and in HMV, the same price range as any other deluxe album. The standard edition is being sold for less than the average one in most supermarkets and is on offer in both Tesco and on Amazon so price has nothing to do with it. She will climb in the next days anyway thanks to her Strictly promotion.

Should Adele not have song Hello on X factor?
No, she shouldn't have, exactly for the reasons specified in the original post. I'm not surprised that the boost for the song has been miniscule. She should be pushing the album at this stage and a performance of When We Were Young would've been better for that.

Go on, Craig! Born To Do It is also #30 on the album chart.

The X Factor ● Series 12 ● Grand Final
I should add, though, that the dancing and stage presence from both acts was indeed brilliant. My favourite performance was Louisa's first one.

The X Factor ● Series 12 ● Grand Final
My general thoughts: I can't see either of Louisa or Reggie n' Bollie doing anything, but Louisa is probably quite far ahead in the votes... I don't think it will be close between them. Che gave some very outstanding performances during his time on the show but also some duds. His vocals are truly great but I don't think he will do well in the music industry. Perhaps there should be another route that he goes down? I like all three finalists but I'm in agreement that it was quite an uneventful, dull final. The Fleur/Little Mix performance was quite ambitious with them both attempting each other's songs. I think Fleur did well with her opening of Black Magic but LM didn't bring it with Sax... I thought Perrie doing the first verse was waaaaaay off. I enjoyed seeing Craig David on my TV screen again; that brought back a lot of memories!

Friday Chart Predictions
I doubt that there's gonna be a huge boost for Hello. It lost a lot of sales this week and is now doing very ordinary numbers. It might return to #3 at best behind the winner's single and Love Yourself. I think even the boost for 25 is going to be less than people expect. She should be doing When We Were Young instead which has its whole chart life ahead of it, and I think doing a new song would make the album sell more than it will. It will be interesting to see how the Thursday cutoff point this year will affect the total sales of the X Factor's winner single. I can't see it doing more than 150-200k, and I think even 150k is a stretch. The album chart will be stale but I find it much more interesting and satisfying to see sales wise at this time of the year. Hopefully Purpose will do +100k which will make four albums sell over that amount this week alongside Adele, who would be on roughly 400k-ish without The X Factor; hopefully her performance can take that supposed amount to 500k. Coldplay should do another 150-200k, with Elvis on maybe 100-125k and Justin as aforementioned above 100k too.
